The King's squire has a small chamber that makes his home in Lord Harroway's Town look like a grimey closet.

At the end of the day, after Nyles is dismissed by the king and has attended to his own affairs, he hears a knocking at the door.
A familiar but not friendly male voice calls out, "Make yourself decent, Blackfort, you have a lady guest."

Nyles's room had been a closet, but calling it grimy was slanderous; he was a fastidiously neat young man. He winced in pain as he limped to his small collection of clothes; he'd been bandaging his leg, and pulled a white shirt and pants on and went to answer the door. "My lady," he said, to whoever answered it. Assuming it was a lady.

It was one of the Kingsguard. Gareth the Grey, who matched Bittersteel in grimness, if not in fury or outright rudeness. "Your friend approached me in the Great Hall and asked if I might lead her to your quarters."
He stepped aside revealing Visenya, who gave a nervous smile to the squire. "Hello, Nyles. Ah hope this is a good time..."

His room looks like an armory at the moment; if Nyles's strange tenure as a squire was in its twilight, then the lad wasn't about to let it end quietly. Or peacefully. He nods. "Not bad," he confirmed. "I hope you've been well," he said. "How do you like the castle?" He shoves his dagger into its sheath.

"It's been very quiet. Your sister always seems to be somewhere else, so Ah 'ave found myself with more free time than I expected."
Gareth leaves without saying farewell, having little use or time for this sort of thing.

"Quiet is good," the squire agreed. "The Seven alone know what Alice is up to." He smiled. "I've been keeping busy though," he said. "It hasn't made a lot of people happy. In fact some of them are downright angry."

"A septon once told me that if you're making folks angry, you either did something very wrong or something very right. Ah suspect with you, it's a bit of both." She grinned at him for a moment, before letting it fade. "Ah'm sorry if it's about the tanner."

"No," he said with a chuckle, "this is about the tanner's boss." He smiled a touch. "I'm not a quick learner. Heading out soon to finish him off so I can move on." He rubbed his leg absently. It'd take a lot of focus to pretend not to be injured. "Once he's gone life should get a bit easier."

"Oh, you mean Benjy Blue Eyes? And you're limping. You should sit down. Ah thought you 'ighborn 'ad maesters to look after you. Come, let's get that looked at." She lead him back into his room. "Ah 'ad to do the same thing for my brother when we were wee. Always gettin' into scrapes."

The squire grumbled as he sat back on his bed. "Maesters are busy and if they looked at it they'd stop me from going," he said. He lifted his pant leg enough to show the bandage, soaked through with red from the fall. "I've had worse," he said with a bit of petulance.

"Where are your fresh bandages? And do you have any ointment or some sort of liquor?" She looked around the room with a look of consternation. "Your room is much nicer than I expected."

"Bandages are over there," he said. "I used all my salve already." He shrugged. "It's a nice room, I've grown fond of it." He smiled. "Don't worry about the leg. Once Benjy is dead I'll make sure a master looks at it." He looked out his window, clearly obsessed at this point. "I hope your mother is well. And you, too."

She began changing his bandages. "She's fine. Tells everyone Ah've met the Queen 'erself. And it's nice here. The people 'ere try their damndest to pretend Ah don't exist, but it's a damn sight better than the alternative." Her hands were gentle and practiced, dancing across his skin with a tender grace.

"That's good," he said. "Honestly you don't want to know most of the people who live here," he noted. "Too many hangers-on." He winced in pain a few times. "You could be a healer with hands like those," he said. "Which is fortunate, I'll be needing one soon enough." He sounded oddly cheery at the prospect. Benjy's head on a spike was worth a few cuts and bruises. "Have you ever heard of Harrenhal?"
