Richard visits the couples quarters at the arranged time, just after the meeting with Bittersteel and the King. Richard was not at his most positive, but he mustered a smile for the man and women. They were good people from what he could tell, and he would not burden them with his worries.

Richard is greeted by the new Lady Florent, dressed in a simple but clean gown. "Ser Richard! I was hoping you might join us today. Come in!" She was wiping her hands of what appeared to be grease. "We're having roast chicken and fresh bread. I was a little concerned it was a bit too simple, but my husband insists you and he were used to far less during the war."
She lead him into the main chamber, where her daughter Tysha was asleep in Sebastian's arms. He woke her with a whisper and before long, she was pulling on Blackfort's hand asking if he had ever seen dire wolves.

He woke her with a whisper and before long, she was pulling on Blackfort's hand asking if he had ever seen dire wolves. Richard laughed lightly at Lady Florents statement "Ah, it's true. We had two rocks and a stick for dinner every night, and we had to share the stick!" He follows her in and bends down to Tysha's level, sadly shaking his head "No little lady, I haven't. You'd have to go even more north than even the Moat to see Direwolves. I have gone south though and seen something stranger." he lowered his voice to a whisper "Cows. In the Sea. Sea Cows."

"What, like Lord Butterwell?"
"Tysha!" cried Dany. "That is a rude thing to say in polite company!"
"But he looks like a cow and owns that ship!"
Sebastian lead her to the table. "I think that's enough political commentary before desert..."
Richard was seated at the table between Ser Sebastian and his wife. Tysha peeped over the table and hurled questions at Richard like arrows. "Are sea cows like mermaids? Mama says mermaids are real, but are not to be trifled with."

Richard tries to keep a straight face at Tysha's comment, but as soon as he looks away from the girl he breaks into a wide grin. He'll answer the girls questions in between conversation with Sebastian and Danaerys.
"Thank you so much for your invitation, Lady Florent. It is a pleasure to be in polite company, if for a little while. My sworn brothers are fascinating... if a little eccentric."
"Sea cows are gentle creatures, but I do not know about them being like mermaids. I would not trifle with any creature that is so large. Even the gentlest beast can hurt anyone it thinks threatens the animal."
"Ser Sebastian, my arm is still aching from our bout. I must commend both your skill and hospitality! Ha!"

"Aye, well, I'd like to think in another life, you'd do me the same honor. When Redtusk passed away, Fireball asked me to take the white, but I refused. I wanted to enjoy my peace as best I could, and my father had already made plans to have me wed. To be fair, I think he asked Lord Peake and a few others too. One of the Brackens, I forget which. A few hedge knights. I think some of them actually agreed, but the King wanted someone with honor. Not a title or reputation, but the actual quality of integrity."

Richard looked down at his food, a little shamed by that. He'd known he hadn't been the first choice for Fireball... but maybe it was good that it was humbling. To let such a thing go to your head, to be changed that much simply because your place in life was different, it was something that could make a man worse. Make a man strike those he deemed lesser with impunity, or to freeze when the real responsibility dropped onto their shoulders.
"It at least comforts me that the King is confident in that. If not my sword arm!" he jokes quickly before returning to the food "Though, I must say that I fear I have erred these last few days. My nephew has been... ambitious in his forays into the city, and has drawn the attention of Bittersteel. I would not wish his attention upon my enemies, and now because I did not restrain my nephew, I must tomorrow go into the city to capture the men spreading lies about his Grace."

"Aegor Rivers is an abominable man." Muttered Dany about her brother and sipped her wine.
Sebastian reached across the table and squeezed his wife's hand, earning him a smile. He looked to Richard. "I understand your trouble. Your nephew is young and keen to prove his worth. When I was his age, I sailed to Pentos, looking for adventure, confident in my sword arm. Instead, I found myself shamed by a water dancer and forced to crawl on my belly out of the first and only brothel I ever stepped foot in. Young men should be allowed to make foolish mistakes, so long as they learn from them."

Richard pretended not to hear Dany as he eats, and nods along to Sebastians story "Who wasn't foolish when they were young? I tried to participate in my first tourney when I was 12! Borrowed some small armor, was convinced I'd be a "mystery" knight who'd take the field and show them all what for!" he laughs "course, that illusion changed a bit when my father came out, grabbed me off the horse, and carried me back to the tent, armor and all."

The knight laughed. "Did you at least have time to choose a sensational title?"

"Oh what was it." He puts his hand to his head, dredging up distant memories "An animal? No no, I had a land of some kind. Something I protected. Knight of the Gods Eye? I think I tried to put antler horns on it, to appear fierce." He shakes his head "looked ridiculous. Maybe the Baratheons can do that, but not me."

"Oh, for my first tourney, my father made me wear this ridiculous armor that had fox ears and a red cape sewn entirely of fox pelts. I felt like a mummer of some kind. And the worst part was that all the ladies kept inquiring if I had killed all those poor foxes myself!" Florent laughed at the memory.

"Poor man. That was it for me for awhile. Entered the next one again for awhile, borrowed armor again, but this time with permission. Did well enough to get the money for my own squire ship to a knight, been on the move ever since. Travelled for well over 10 years" he said wistfully those had been the best times.

Eventually, after much reminiscing eating, Dany stood up and lead the drowsy Tysha to bed. Sebastian watched his wife vanish into another room. "I love that woman, Ser Richard. I didn't expect it to happen so soon, but I truly do." He turned to the Kingsguard. "I hope Belric is finding the same bliss."
