Dacey, dressed in simple black leathers and a matching cloak void of any Blackfort livery, cast a single glance to the man in the corner before looking at Lord Byrch.
"I'm here to deliver the gold in return for our knight you've seized in his request for aid. Enough blood has been spilt and Lord Blackfort has agreed to meet your demands," she said evenly, though her eyes were cold and steely, and it was quite obvious she had no interest in returning this petty lord's feigned courtesy.

Lord Byrch muttered something under his breath, not meeting Dacey's eyes, before the man beside him tapped his foot impatiently and shot him a withering glance.
"It seems there has been a...misunderstanding," Lord Byrch forced the words out, as Willem was led into the great hall, grimacing as if he had been forced to swallow something especially bitter, staring longingly at the coin-filled sack. "Please accept your knight back with my sincere apologies."

As Willem was brought in to the Hall he saw Dacey and Byrch speaking. He felt great relief that apparently he was of sufficient value to House Blackfort to not be discarded, but his joy at not dying was interrupted by his confusion as he heard Byrch turn down a sizable sum of gold. He glared at Byrch, not without deep spite, attempting to figure out what had prompted the man to change his mind days after throwing him in the dungeon.

Dacey studied the man beside him a bit more thoroughly now, assuming he would have to be either Lord Darklyn or a representative of his.
As Ser Willem was escorted to the hall, she gave him a nod, and judging him to be in good health, turned once more to Lord Byrch. "I accept your apology," she said after a moment of consideration, fairly sure it would add salt to his already wounded pride. "And advise you not to make a habit of alienating your neighbours. Enjoy your meal," she said, the latter part directed at the man beside Lord Byrch. With that, she turned around to leave the hall with Belric's knight and his gold.

(+1 Observation for Willem) Judging by the way Byrch kept glancing to the man beside the dais and occasionally shrinking at his gaze. it was clear he was his subordinate. Willem actually recalled seeing the man speaking with Lord Tully long ago, months before the Siege of Riverrun began. It was the Lord of Duskendale himself. ![](https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/df/3c/6d/df3c6db992a970cb29c1149591b04aa5.jpg) At Dacey's words, Lord Byrch actually turned a shade of purple, biting his tongue so hard that he likely drew blood. Lord Darklyn gave him another glance, forcing Thomas to speak up again. "I also assure you on behalf of the High Lord of Duskendale, that I, along with your other Crownland neighbors, will spare no expense or resource in hunting down these outlaws that plagued your lands and will bring your brother's murderer to justice."

Dacey turned back towards the pair at that, mild surprise displayed across her features as she had not expected that. "That is most generous of you," she said to the man in charge directly now, all the while trying to gauge whether or not he seemed to be sincere. "If that is the case, Harrenhal would owe you a great debt of gratitude."

"Nonsense, it is the least Thomas can do," Lord Darklyn said evenly, meeting Dacey's gaze, his actual intent and disposition hidden behind a refined mask of civility. "Let it not be said the bannermen of Duskendale do not know how to act neighborly."

Willem was under no illusion that Lord Darklyn knew who he was, but he did indeed recognize him from his time as a red. He supposed he was fortunate that at least Byrch's superior was a man of character.
Wiping the scowl from his face that had been reserved for Byrch, he gave Darklyn a faint respectful nod. He saw no reason to speak however, being far lower in stature than those involved in the discussion.
