"Brother," she greeted, looking to Aegor "I suppose congratulations are in order," it was not like it was a surprise to her, "any marriages headed your way?"

"With Princess Calla of age and the war won, I will be fulfilling the promise made at our betrothal 5 years ago," he answered, as if it were a dry businesslike transaction, with all the excitement of a man filing his taxes, despite his bride's father standing right beside them. "It keeps things simple. I already know my in-laws and I do detest meeting new people."

"Perfect then," Saesha said, and then headed to the room to sign the document In her own blood.

Grand Maester Alford was old enough to remember dragons and it showed. He sat before an old desk with a pen knife, a quil, and a document that to Saesha's eyes might as well have been written by a child. The terms were simple enough any learned person might grasp immediately.
Complete and utter fealty to House Blackfyre.
Bittersteel's mark was unmistakable, both for his harsh penmanship and it's color. Alford spoke in a wheezing voice that already sounded like a death rattle.
"Good Saesha... Still as fair as when you left us... I hope this war business has not imperiled your studies... You were always... The most avid learner among Aegon's favored... Except for Brynden... Though your questions were always more... Practical..."
He smiled and held up the knife. "Only a prick, dear... Despite Aegor's example... This is a legal matter... Not A tourney..."

She almost felt like rolling her eyes at Aegor's scrawl. She read the document a couple of times, simple as it was to be sure of its content. It made no difference, it could say almost anything and she'd give no choice but to sign it.
"I liked to consider being away at war an opportunity to apply the things I've studied, see them at work in the world.it has been most enlightening, but I was ready to come back to start studying again. Shame." She commented and took then pen knife.
"What is the reason for the blood? It makes this no more binding, legally speaking."

"Dramatic license... When the Conquest was over... Aegon ordered his men to surrender their blades... And forged the Iron Throne from them... Daemon now forges his throne... From blood..."
He gave a laugh like a broken flute. "Despite your sister's interests... Rest assured... Our targets are the hearts and minds of the people... Not yours...'

"Aegor made a throne from his enemies swords, those he conquered. He did not demand the swords of the sisters who'd been with him since the start,." She pointed out, but made a small cut in her arm anyway, then signed her name, in a smooth elegant hand, looking a world away from Aegor's.
"If you want the hearts and minds of the people, I'd suggest this self mutilation is not extended to all of kings landing." Her mouth curled up at one side to show it was a joke. "I will not be seeing you as often as I would have liked now, grand maester, take care of yourself."

"Aye, blessed girl... But know that if that ruffian husband treats you poorly... Just let me know..." He held up a sliver of an arm.
"And I'll throttle the little shit for you."

Saesha smiled at that, the action brightening her whole face, if her husband treated her poorly, he'd not have to, that was for certain,"the threat alone will keep him in line for a hundred years," she allowed and turned and left back out into the hall, making sure the line of blood going down her arm was visible to their new family, showing them it didn't need be as gruesome as Aegor's, whom she stood next to.
She considered making small talk, but neither of them would appreciate it.

Bittersteel watched the procession of their father's natural born progeny file in one by one to sign their blood to the dotted line, each bending the knee to the black dragon, each a bartering chip to be exchanged for favors and fealty.
"Wonder what that fat bastard would say if he could see us now," he muttered, without even glancing at Saesha.

"He'd probably say, "get me another pie," then roll over and sleep." She said looking forward still, and crossing her arms, observing the others going in. She wondered what would be one of Brynden's sisters.

He exhaled sharply from his nose like a particularly spirited stallion, the closest anyone ever saw Aegor get to actually laughing.
"Never was one to consider matters that extended passed the tip of his cock, not that he could see even that in the later years," he ventured, relaxing a bit around his sister, the one that did not leave him stammering or enraged in equal measure.

"Well if he did, none of us would be here now, in any sense of the phrase," Saesha commented, looking st him briefly, "before he died he was so large, I remember he dropped something and he had to get a servant to pass it back up for him, because he could not reach the floor." She smiled a little, their father had been harmless to them, just... A womanising arsehole, but he had done right by her sister and her, and she was really only concerned with that. "what are your plans as hand, anything you both want to achieve?"

"You should have seen him at the end; his bloated body so swollen that he could not even lift himself from his cough, covered in his own feces, his limbs rotting and crawling in hosts of flesh worms. I'd sooner fall on my own sword than suffer that indignity," he said, with morbidly vivid recollection, clearly not understanding light smalltalk in the slightest. "Plans? A king has plans. A Hand does as he is told." was his deadpan reply to the question. It was no secret that there was little Daemon did that Bittersteel or Fireball did not first suggest.

"Of course," she said dryly,"how foolish of me," she waited to see if any hearts and minds could not be swayed by the generous offer of facing them into human shaped coins, she imagined as soon as she got shipped off to that tip, she'd be entirely forgotten, that was just fine. "How is ser Quentyn?"
