"You would fit in well in Essos with that mindset," Rohanne commended.
A pair of old seamstresses entered in short order, tools for measurments and countless fabrics and colors to choose from. Her Grace informed Alice that she could commission three dresses for the time being for daily use, but that more could be made shortly before balls and tourneys if she wished to make a particular statement.

Alice grinned. "Three dresses! Oh my, where to begin..." She looked through the fabrics before finding one of bright red samite. "This!" She said cheerfully, before letting the women take her measurements. "I would like it..." She looked to the queen for a moment. "Make it tight and deep at the bust and give it... one of those slits along the skirt." She giggled and then moved back to the table, before selecting two more fabrics. White lace and soft pink satin.
"I think the white should be more conservative, all innocent and maidenly," Alice said, before holding up the pink fabric to herself. "The pink... I am not sure. Your Grace, what would you recommend?"

"The pink," the queen replied, smiling pleasantly as the girl flitted around among all the fabrics. "Enough false maidens in this keep already. Could choke the Titan of Braavos with them."

"You are right, your Grace. The pink then," Alice confirmed, handing it to the women with a cheerful expression. "But yes, make it more traditional and not so showy up to and around the middle but..." She wasn't sure how this would go down. "Make it short, almost like a nightgown!"

The queen made no remark to this, other than a slight smirk and a raised eyebrow. Perhaps the girl had more gall than she had expected. She merely waved for Alice to pick her third.

Alice smiled, not noticing the smirk, and looked for the material for her last dress, finally finding some black velvet. "Make this something majestic and striking. I'm not really sure how that might look but... well, I am sure you know what you are doing." She grinned at the seamstresses, fully confident that what she would get would go far beyond what she imagined. She couldn't wait.

"Black?" Rohanne asked, "Has someone died? At least throw some white and red in there, if you want your house colors."

"Black is slimming," Alice said with a smile, displaying perhaps some anxiety about her weight. "But you are right, some of the white lace perhaps to trim it. And a bit of red, but not too much." She grinned, never having been able to just choose what dress she wanted and have it be made for her.

"If you need to concern yourself with looking slimmer, we are all in dire straits, my dear," Rohanne replied, shaking her head. The seamstresses took her measurements and made a few cursory design sketches, informing Alice she would have her dresses by week's end.

"The food here at court is too good, your grace - I have to admit I've been indulging!" She laughed a little, having gained perhaps a marginal bit of weight but nothing really noticeable. She looked in the mirror again, still surprised by how she looked before grinning. "What sort of jewellery do they have in Tyroish, your grace? I've noticed that necklaces and earrings at court are a little, well, not dull but..." She tried to think of a word and failed, shrugging instead.

"All manner, from the understated to the truly gaudy," the queen answered the question, chortling at Alice's lavish praise of the food. "I prefer to match the jewels to my hair color at the time, as many Tyroshi noblewomen do. Sapphires when it is blue, emeralds when it is green, rubies when it is red."

Alice grinned. "I would do something similar but I am not so sure about dying my hair. I like rubies though, and diamons!" She smirked and pictured herself in some gaudy eastern jewels, then in more refined and elegant one. "I will have to look in the markets for some jewels from Tyrosh then. Perhaps the two of us could go for a stroll and you could advise me?"

"That would be lovely," the queen affirmed, with a nod. "We will have you looking like the sister of one of the wealthiest lords in Westeros in short order."

Alice grinned widely "That would be so amazing, your Grace! I won't have to use your makeup either and simply get my own. Is there anything else you would like to so?"

"No, I think that is all I need of you at the moment. I just wanted to get the measure of you," she replied, her tone indicating she had been pleased by what she saw. "Wander the keep for a bit. You are of little use to me if you do not know its halls and those who walk them."
