///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// (2nd Moon, 22nd Day)
Ser Tallahar Rivers walked into his stables. The knight drew in a large breath enjoying the smell of horses and the comfort it brought to him. He had descended from his tower today to finally make his choice on Head Groomsmen. The man would end up running the stables for the day to day exercise and the decision weighed heavily on Tallahar.

3rd Moon, 19th day
Edmure arrived at the stables and instructed one of the stable boys to saddle two of his horses. As the boy went about his business, saddling first one horse - a silver Courser and then the other - a chestnut palfrey, Edmure spent time grooming the other. He found the grooming a peaceful activity, when the stable boy knew what he was doing and spoke rarely.

The stable boy did as told, saddling the courser.
"Going for a ride, milord?" he asked, pleasantly.

"Going home." said Edmure tersely, moving over the check the straps on the horse that had been saddled.

"Isn't...this is?" the buy asked, clearly confused.

"No, lad. This was never my home. This is my brother's home." replied Edmure.

This only seems to make the stableboy more confused, as being a peasant he likely lived with his parents, siblings, uncles, aunts, and cousins in a single hovel in Harrentown. Considering Edmure himself had never lived in a home without his sibling in his adult life, it was an odd differentiation.
"Where is home then, if not with your family?"

"Wherever I make it." said Edmure simply. "But for the moment Lord Harroway's Town. Heard of that place, lad?"

When the boy didn't reply, which probably meant he hadn't heard of Edmure's home town, the knight smiled to himself. He finished testing the straps on both mounts, climbed into the saddle of the palfrey and headed out.

As Edmure was taking his horse out of the stable, he came across Willem, wandering idly through the yard. Upon seeing Edmure leading two mounts out of the stables, the knight turned to face his cousin.
"Good day, Ser Edmure. Where are you headed?" he inquired.

Edmure looked momentarily startled to see Willem, but then recovered himself.
"So formal, Willem." he said drily. "Ser, indeed."
He thought to ride past Willem with an off-hand remark about Harrentown, but then felt a momentary pang of shame. He owed Willem an explanation especially when he felt that he himself had wronged Willem with the fight at the bridge that his bastard half-brother had won. He sighed inwardly and dismounted.
"Lord Belric and I have quarrelled." he said, leading his horses under some shelter. "As a result, I thought the best thing to do, should be to step aside as Castellan of Harrenhal and leave this place. It is something I do with a heavy heart, but I feel there I have no other choice."

"Leave?" Willem looked at him as if he had just casually told him the sky was red. There was a brief pause before he offered further comment. "And what exactly do you plan to do? I can't imagine any lord who fought for the Targaryens will take you in. Do you intend to become a hedge knight? Surely your lot is better here, quarrel or no."

"Someone, somewhere will want my skills and take me into their service." he replied. "I had thought to possibly return to Lord Harroway's Town." He smiled wanly. "Maybe become the Knight of the Black Gate, like my father was. Belric has no need of that title anymore. My sister is apparently is to marry Lord Lucamore too, so my soon to be good brother may be amenable to that."
He shrugged in resignation. "But if not, a hedge knight it will likely be. Belric can choose another castellan. Apparently there are a couple of candidates from our family that seem to think they can do a better job than I." Another smile, more grim this time.
"They have the chance to prove it now."

That would seem to follow from your argument."

"Our family Willem. Such as it is." replied Edmure smiling. "Still you have that choice to leave, if you wished. And you even have the advantage of an offer of service elsewhere with our 'friend' Lord Smallwood., although I wouldn't be telling my brother that."
He shrugged his shoulders again. "I could remain in my brother's service, but whether we could put this behind us remains to be seen. I have not seen him since our quarrel. I even left him a letter resigning the Castellanship, because I could not trust myself to not say certiain things to him face to face. Certain things that would make it impossible for us to reconcile in the future. He is still my brother - the only true born brother I have, now that Nyles is dead."
