Dacey followed them into the woods, looking out for tracks of game as well. It was good to know that even if everyone else bailed and shot their horses, Jormun would likely fight that bear with her.

(FALCON PUNCH-Happy does not always play well with others. Flip Result: TAILS Roll Result: Not Fun)
The peregrine falcon is renowned for its speed, reaching over 200 miles per hour during its characteristic hunting stoop or high speed dive, making it the fastest member of the animal kingdom. So it was that when Happy dove from the sky, it was a blur of feathery death, razor sharp talons leading in front like a knight's lance. Apparently deciding that the constant yapping of Gerdy's dogs was insufferable, the grouchy raptor dove bomb one of them with the sadistic glee of a Luftwaffe Stuka pilot over London. Stranger took a face full of bird fury, the poor dumb beast yelping in surprise and pain as the bird of prey tore and ripped and pecked his eyes out before flying away. It did not take a veterinarian to know the dog would need to be put down. Warrior just barked angrily, as confused as his brother.
(+10 to Survival Roll for Jormun for Abiity, +1 to Survival for Jormun)
Despite the shrieking of his falcon's battle cry and the pitiful noises the hound was making, Jormun managed to find some bear tracks that looked fresh. Dacey finds nothing, likely too shocked by the random carnage to worry about picking up a trail.

Gerdy reaches Stranger as soon as the sadistic hawk takes flight. Confronted with the severity of Stranger's wounds, she does not falter. Gerdy throws herself onto the mutt, muzzling him with one hand while grabbing at his neck with the other. She only has to wrestle him for a moment before he gives in.
"Be still yee stupid beast." Gerdy's voice was placid, she had put down her share of animals.
With a jerk of her arms, Gerdy attempts to break Stranger's neck and put him out of his misery.

Gerdy quickly makes a move to grab Warrior, using a wolf mother's grip to subdue him until he can be calmed. "Be calm, yee mangy mutt." Said Gerdy, talking in a soothing voice she possessed only for animals. It was important that Warrior did not run out of fear, she would be hard pressed to hunt without a hound at her command.

Dacey looked from Gerdy and her dead dog to Jormun with mild disbelief on her face. "The fuck?" she asked, from no one in particular, slowly starting to wonder if all birds went a little crazy around Harrenhal.

Jormun lets out a sharp whistle as his falcon hones it's skills on the innocent. "Damn it, Happy. He's been a little strange since we got to Harrenhal. Gerdy, I am sorry, and I will pay whatever you need for a new hound. I hope you can continue with one hound, though, because I found tracks."

Warrior calms down quickly in the warm embrace of its owner, soon happy, seeming to entirely forget the horrifying incident and eager to get hunting.

Gerdy patted Warrior on the head, before standing to her feet. Her eyes were glazed, this ordeal obviously having more of an impact on her than she would ever admit. She looked to Jormun, anger written across her brow.
"If that berd comes neor this hound, i'll be havin it fo' dinnor. As fo' reimbursing me the loss ov stranger, yas damn reet i'll tek compensation." She walked over to her horse, pulling a hank of rope from one of the satchels. With a quick knot, Gerdy feted the dead dog. She then mounted it to the back of her horse, knowing better than to abandon a meal. With surprising elegance, Gerdy swung herself into the saddle. She pointed accusingly at the huntsman, ""I'll not burden this hunt wi' quarrel, but we will deal wi' this once we return. Can't say if this'll work wi' only ah single dog."

Jormun nods to Gerdy, turning to face that trail the tracks create through the underbrush. "We will prevail and deal with it later. The tracks lead this way."

(+1 Survival for Jormun)
They follow the tracks and the dogs pick up the sent. On the way, they come across a doe, which the trio manage to bring down with no trouble.
(You can use the deer as bait to get the bear into an advantageous position or keep it for +1 food)

((Fuck, i thought I responded to this three days ago. ))
Jormun will use the deer as bait, confident that they can catch more on the way back to Harrenhal.

They package up the meat and the bear tracks lead them to a cave. It does not take a master hunter to figure out that it is likely the creature's den.

"That's a bear cave if ah've ever seen wan." Gerdy said, dismounting her horse.
She quickly got to work, pulling the largest gage of rope she had from her saddle bags. Remaining light on her toes, she began constructing a hanging snare at the mouth of the cave. She tied a slip knot at the head of the rope, creating a loop that matched the width of the cave. When finally set, the loop blended with the foliage surrounding the cave's entrance, making it hard to spot for anything not paying attention. The other end of the rope she hitched to the nearest tree trunk, she took time to look for one big enough to support a struggling bear. If done correctly, the snare would tighten around the bears neck as it emerged from it's den. As the beast struggled to get free, the knot would continue to tighten, eventually suffocating the animal if it did not submit or break free. It was a rudimentary technique, but one that stood the test of time.
