"Hoster", she grinned.. "It's alright, you're a Lord, so it doesn't really matter how it sounds." Looking back at him, when he says the last part,"I'm not that easily impressed", Aelison smiled and led him to the kennels. As they enter, she quiets the dogs again. They walk down to end and she looks in the last pen on the right,"This huge bastard is Father...", she smiles tugging at his ear,"..He is the leader."
"He has some years left in him though.."The big brute of a dog grabbed at her hand, mouthing it, slobber flying everywhere,"I would like to get one more litter from him and Mother."

"I'm sure they share the sentiment." He slowly offered his hand for inspection. "Did you raise them yourself, or are they orphans of House Lothston?"

"I'm sure they share the sentiment." He slowly offered his hand for inspection. "Did you raise them yourself, or are they orphans of House Lothston?" She was about to answer him, but then pressed her wet, slobbery hand to his slowly. "I would not advise you doing that, Lord Hoster." Nodding in the dog's direction,"Father here is used to mostly hunt bear and boar", she looked at him,"He does not know you and I would hate to see him break every bone in your hand from a bite." She then smiled at Father, who was watching Hoster with his amber eyes. "But to answer you question, some of the younger ones I helped with and the older ones, like Father, Mother and Grace I already knew." Standing, she walked him over to another pen,"This is Albah, he is also strong, young but very strong." Albah sat up straight, watching as she talked,"We lost Stranger and Warrior when Gerdy was lost." "They were also strong males." She frowned.

Hoster retracted his hand quickly, and paid careful attention to her introduction. "Father, Mother, Warrior, Stranger. I see no Smith and Crone. But is there a Maiden to be found in this kennel, I wonder?" He gave her a confident grin at the cheeky question.

She smiled lightly at his jape,"Not all of them have the names for the Seven.. And I happen to be the only Maiden here." They continued his tour of the kennels, as she showed him the other males, Ice, Steel, Clout, Pug and Duncan. "I almost forgot my favorite girl, Daisy", she smiled and rubbed her head. "The last female is Grace, she is due to have a litter anytime now."
Aelison took in a sigh,"So my Lord, you have seen what we have. Who would you like to choose? I also would have to accompany you on the hunt as well, you do understand for their safety."

He judged them carefully, or at least did his best impression of careful judgement. "Steel looks too much like my brother Alester for me to enjoy my sport. But Duncan... Aye, he's got the right temperament, I think."

She laughed at his joke, even if she hadn't met his brother it was still funny. "Yes, Duncan is a good choice but only one dog, Lord Hoster", she asked. "What are you planning on hunting? Pug and Duncan usually are paired to hunt, but if you just want the one, alright."

"I'd settle for a fox or an elk, to be honest. I'm not keen on getting mauled by one of your famous bears, Mistress Blackfort. Sometimes the chase is enough to stir the blood." He looked back at the supposed maiden. "Sometimes. Tell me, Mistress, if I'm not too bold... Do you hunt yourself? Do you enjoy the thrill of the prowl? Or do you find different joys outside the kennel?"

"Well, I still think we should take them both, bear or no", she nodded. "Daisy will stay here."
Aelison stopped to think,"Well I can hunt but I'd rather ride. Seeing the countryside, a sunset or a sunrise", she looked at him. "I only hunt for them to have exercise and hone their skills for when we need them. Outside of the kennels, I like to read and...:,she smiled lightly,"It's a pity that I can't carry a tune myself but I do like to hear good music.""
"Honestly, have you ever seen a Kennel Mistress as clean as I am,"she smiled."I love these dogs but I do not sleep with them or roll in the dirt with them. I have my role to train them. They understand who I am and what I need from them." She smiled,"We're a team."

He laughed at her question. "To be honest, I've never seen a kennel mistress. It's a rather masculine profession in my experience, aside from the few eunuchs who do piss poor jobs of it." He followed her. "I can't sing either, but I am told by well-paid vassals through suspect smiles that I am a fine flautist. Do you at least dance, Mistress?"

"Well, having this job was a stroke of fortune from current events", she grinned. "And I know what I am doing..."
Aelison laughed,"Me dance? No, no, no.....", she shook her head, almost embarrassed. "I have watched others, but no I have never... Danced. I always thought my two left feet would keep me from doing that." She placed Daisy in her pen and released Pug and Duncan. both dogs seemed like little children happy to be released. They charged at each other, rolled in the dirt, nipping and barking. "Freeze..", she said to them and both dogs stopped and gave her their full attention. They didn't even look in Hoster's direction, but they knew he was there. "Come....", they walked to her and laid down, she smiled and patted them.
Looking at Hoster,"See they're good boys, just a little rambunctious at times."

"Anyone can dance. Not everyone can dance well, to be sure, but anyone can dance. It's just like writing your name or falling in love. Once you're doing it, it's the most natural thing in the world."
He watched her play with the dogs. "Did you have hounds of your own in Harroway's Town?"

"Well, I don't think I would like to find out", she grinned,"I'm not in the practice of making a fool of myself."
She sighed and watched them goof off a little longer,"I did but they weren't mine. They belonged to the knight that hired me to train them for him. They were good animals too, but he didn't have the slightest clue on what to do with them."

The lordling nodded, watching the canines with her. "Well, that's certainly not the case with you, Mistress." He gestured to the cottage. "Yours?"

Nodding with a smile,"Yeah, there it is in all it's glory."
"It doesn't look that bad on the inside. There is just enough room for me with a quaint little hearth."
" Living under a landed knight, I never had as much before",she looked around,"all of this... I am thankful."
