Jormun takes a knee at the side of the bridge, muttering a prayer to the Warrior and the Stranger to take the fallen hedge knight. Pushing himself to his feet, Jormun wipes some of the blood from his face and gingerly touches his nose, wincing. He makes his way back to his party without a word.

Edmure watched impassively as the fight proceeded and as Ser Duncan fell, a half smile broke out on his face.
"The Gods have spoken. You have your village and the mill." he remarked to Lord Vance who was nearby.
The village was theirs and war was avoided. Edmure breathed a long sigh of relief, the tension that had been building up inside him finally released.
Credit where credit's due though. He drew his sword and held in high in triumph.
"Jormun Rivers and Harrenhal!" he roared to the men.

Piper and Vance road off with their knights without another word, not even bothering to fish the corpse of their ringer out of the stream.
(Riverrun party may post their arrival at Harrenhal, dated on the 18th)

Willem sat astride his horse silently and said nothing as Edmure attempted to honour the man who had just undermined his authority. Little wonder the siege of riverrun had failed, he thought.

Having acknowledged Jormun in front of the men, Edmure watched as Lord Smallwood and Piper's heir withdrew from the village. Once he was sure they had gone, he pulled on the rein of his horse and swung around to see Willem watching silently.
"It would be churlish in front of the men, not to acknowledge Jormun's feat." he said to Willem as he rode slowly past. "As I said, I will not forget your service. When my brother returns you will see this."
He turned to a couple of his men. "Have Ser Duncan's body fished out of the stream. Smallwood and Piper may have abandoned him in death, but I would see him buried with some respect. He was still a knight."

"I'll take care of it myself," Willis replied to Edmure, "Plenty of times I was nearly the unmourned hedge knight dead in a ditch."
He took one man with him to fish out the body, sending another to find some shovels.

Edmure gave the order to move out of the village and return to Harrenhal. He left two knights and eight guardsmen in order to protect the small folk and ensure that the mill was secure. As he moved through the village he noticed the gibbet with the three hanging corpses. From the shape of their remains, it didn't take him long to work who they were.
"Take them down and see them interred in the village square." he instructed the men remaining. "Raise a cairn over their resting place to remind the people of Lord Smallwood's so-called justice."
Without another word, he led his force out of the Crossing back to Harrenhal. Now to deal with Lord Goodbrook. He wondered when his brother would return.

He knew that Edmure did not have a perfect track record of fulfilling his word, as the duel had just demonstrated, so he would have to wait and see whether what Edmure promised proved true. As the group rode back to Harrenhal he travelled quietly near the back.
