He'd note the expensive stuff; nothing made joining an outlaw band better than selling them out to the proper authorities while also enriching oneself. He silently slides down the hallway and gets close to the firs room, if the door is open he'll peek in as quietly and unobtrusively as possible.

(Success on both counts.)
He can make out the two barmaids holding each other while sitting on a large bed. The younger redhead is weeping.
"Must we stay here? Could we not move to Harrentown or Shoreham?"
In a soothing voice, the older brunette responds, "I'm sorry, my duckling, but your father can't go anywhere yet. And we can't leave your father."
"We never should have come here..."
"I know, my child. I know..."

Kyle feels a slight pang of sympathy but he continues on quietly, moving to the second door and listening for anything he can make out. He takes a quick look behind him to make sure no one sees him.

(Success on both counts.) Behind the second door, he finds Robb himself behind a great oaken monstrosity of a desk, armed with a bottle and a pen as he scribbles down a note. He stares at the paper, then burns it on a nearby candle and leaves it turning into ash on a silver tray. He then shuts a wide but thin book on the desktop, presumably a ledger to Kyle's eyes, and begins tidying things up before bed. Whatever the state of his business, the man is fastidious with his own chambers.

Kyle will slip back to the shadows and wait for the owner to go to sleep before heading back to his room. There'd be plenty of time for more investigation in the morning. He will go to bed and then return to the main chamber whenever he awakens.

At dawn, Kyle is shaken by Hal. The wife killer sits down. "Sorry for the rude awakening, mate, but we need to talk business." He lit a pipe, which he promptly offered. "Tug of the dragon's tale?"

"No thanks," he said. Kyle had no difficulty with odd hours; no innkeeper could, never knowing when drunk folk would try starting trouble. "Business is all the high I need," he explained. "And dragons are best left alone in my eyes." He rolled his neck to stretch it. "We got a job?"

"Aye." He took another puff. "Ser Reggie at Carrion Point is about to send some overdue taxes towards ole' Ravensbane. 'Heard it from Skinner himself."

"Well, if Lord Ravensbane waited so long for his taxes, no reason he can't wait a bit longer," he said. "I've been fancying the idea of silver jingling in my pocket." He stroked his goatee. "We want this bloodless or a massacre?" His tone indicated he didn't much care. "We come in at night and I make some special medicine and we have a few sleeping guards and a wagon of treasure."

"I like how you think, Flex." Laughed the bandit. "But no, we're thinking Robb out there will put up a sign offering free room and drink for Lord Blackfort's men, on account of his absence and his brother's problems in Atranta. Then they come here, and we take what's owed. Your tonics will come in handy then, eh?"

"So we take his taxes not an hours' ride from his castle? Anyone sees anything in this area and it is the noose for all of us," he said. "Probably best to pass the blame onto someone else's domain, don't you think?" He asked. "There's got to be a bridge we can collapse to force them to stay at some other tavern or the like." Although, in fairness, if they did their plot as stated he could certainly ensure they alla wung easily enough....but the thrill of the outlaw days did call to him now and again...but no, their plan offended his sense of professionalism. "Don't shot where you eat and all."

(Failure.) Hal shook his head. "There are no other taverns like this one. Maybe in Shoreham lands, but the Unlucky Crab is our best bet. Otherwise, we have to take them in the road, and Ravensbane's cock fucks deeper and harder every week, and I for one am not bending over for him. Besides, Skinner Jon wants it done this way. And he wants you in on it. He likes your face. Says it'd the kind people want to like. And for this to work, we need more honey than Honeyspoon has."
He stood up. "Think on it, mate. Should be coming up the road after sundown, so do what you need to do. There's a farmer down the way who rents his girls out to us, if that's what you need."

Kyle nods and rises. "I'll be back before sundown then," he said. "I got my own girl to spend some time with," he said with a grin. He has a drink for the road and heads for the door.

The walk back to the town is the hardest of his life. His hands twitch at the thought of a heist, a return to the old days. Did he even have it anymore? Maybe his fingers would be heavy. Maybe he'd let honest life make him soft. He tossed a coin in the air and ran through his finger progressions, index, ring, pinky, middle, ringindexpinkymiddle...he could do it, he knew. When did it start to feel...wrong?
He keeps a wary eye out for others on the road following him, because his new idea would involve him being places only legally recognized dishonest people were allowed. That sister, he thought, she'd know what to do. Maybe one of the Benjens. After wandering around Harrentown long enough to pick up any potential tails, he heads for the castle...

(Success)
He sees no one tailing him. He spies two of Hal's men amusing themselves outside the tavern itself, but they make no apparent effort to follow him. He receives a friendly wave from them though.

He waves back of course and continues on his merry way.
