"Taking these walls is not as much my concern as finding Skinner Jon and taking him captive. A battle may be unavoidable, but if we start killing indescrimimately we risk innocent lives and more banditry in the future. When are we to expect the caravan that's delivering the taxes?"

The castle guards had indeed brought ladders and a sturdy battering ram per their Lord's orders.
"The man lives but three hours down the road. If this were a call to arms, he'd have ridden his horse to death and then sprinted down the road in full plate just to be at our side, but in peace time..." He shrugged. "Not all of us are suited to the life of a country knight."

Ser Willem sat silently astride his mount near the back of the group, garbed in plate. He had his helm off.
He nodded in approval at Belric's decision to spring a trap on the bandits rather than pursue the riskier option of taking the fight to them.
