Outside Harrentown sit a collection of various tents, each marked with a flag bearing the colors of its liege. While the highborn bask in the great keep itself, and the well-to-do stay in the finer inns of Harrentown, the common soldiers and sworn swords huddle together in the chilly winter. It's a far cry from the war though, as local merchants and entertainers happily ply their trade among the commoners. Harrentown, never famous for its whorecraft, earns top marks among commoners far and wide.
Some of the lesser knights have their own tents, marked with their own heraldry. Many take part in the unofficial games of the lower classes, such as armwrestling, drinking, and horseracing. Unlike the true tourney games, there are no glittering prizes or legal protection involved. A local man who dares to race against a stranger from the Crossing through the local woods takes his own life in his own hands.
Several charlatans act as guides to the local horrors of House Lothston, and have set up various ritual sites in the forest where they narrate their own takes on the truth. Already, one of these guides has been found beaten to death with his tongue missing, no doubt by the unappreciative locals, but it hasn't dimmed the spirit of theatre one bit.

3rd day of the 5th moon, morning.
Dacey was walking through the encampment, inspecting it. She wore her black leathers and a matching cloak to shield her from the wind; her twin swords hung from her belt.

The encampment was raucous morning through night, great bonfires lit to ward against the cold as commoners, lesser knights, and slumming nobles reveled outside the warmth of the great keep or inns of Harrentown. A sea of unfamiliar faces greeted Dacey, whores and merchants plying their wares, as well as the occasional charlatan trying to sell a gullible group on a ghost tour. She caught sight of at least one familiar face, Roland the guardsman sharing a pint with some of Belric's fresh recruits at a makeshift table outside one of the drinking tents.

Jormun trails slightly behind Dacey in matching black leathers, accented by a green cloak and his chain armor. His spear rested on his back as they went through the encampment, Jormun's face one of almost cheer as he sinks back to a life before Harrenhal.

Willem had been making his way around the encampment looking to see if there were any familiar faces from his less prestigious past, when he noticed Dacey and Jormun making their way toward where he was. Clad in mail with his blade at his side he made his way over to his kin. "Lady Dacey," he called in way of greeting, pausing before adding, "Jormun. What brings you here?"

Dacey observed their cousin approaching and greeted him with a nod. "Ser Willem," she said. "The familiarity of it, for me. That, and making sure everything is in order," she replied, pausing to let Jormun reply.

Jormun nods his head in greeting to Willem, turning to look at their surroundings. "I find it enjoyable to be away from the castle at times, even if it is not on the hunt. I also find that there is a nice comfort about being here. People's intentions are far more clear."

Willem nodded. "The games the high lords play are rather above my understanding."
He turned to Dacey. "Where did you fight in the war? If you don't mind my asking."

If Dacey was surprised at Willem's question emerging out of the blue, it did not show. "It is no secret," she replied to indicate she did indeed not mind. "Here, and in the Crownlands. I was with Lord Roote and my brothers. At Redgrass and later with the king's army, besieging the capital," she said. "Why do you ask?"

Willem shrugged. "I imagined your familiarity with places such as this came from that."

"It must," replied Dacey, looking at their surroundings. "I expected there to be far less order, but I suspect the day is still too young for that." She turned back to Willem. "And what brings you here?" she inquired.

"I was looking for familiar faces." Willem replied, not going into more detail about his past.

"How many have you found, save for us?" she asked him, aware that in his case, this could have meant both reds and blacks; she didn't much care, however, as long as they weren't active Targaryen loyalists.

"You'd likely find more here than either of us. I do hope some of your old friends intend to participate in the duels, at least," Jormun said, giving a slight shrug as he studied the people in the camp. "No doubt some still wish they wore red."

"None yet." Willem replied. He glanced at Jormun, pausing before he answered the latter's comment. "I imagine some would. With a war there's always work for the willing. In peace, well, not always."
