"Aelison, if I'm distant enough kin to wed and bed you when I win this tourney, I'm distant enough kin to not take it easy on any of you lot." Willis joked back, looking her up and down in mock appraisal.

Aelison laughed,"I appreciate your honesty then... And we shall see who wins in the end."
"Just no hard feelings when you're taking your monthly bath a day early."

Willem looked over to Aelison. "As the very image of knightly virtue I try to avoid fighting women. Or old men. So when we meet it will be shortly before I meet Willis." he said with a smirk in Willis' direction.

"A bath?" Willis gave an exaggerated sniff in Aelison's direction. "Fairly certain I'm not the one smellin' of piss and wet dog. Whoever you end up married off to at the end of this, it'll be the first time no men can carry the bride up to the beddin' for want of breathable air."

Aelison looked at him and replied jokingly,"You don't hit.... Are you sure you're related to us?"
"We've abused each other since we were young... This will be no nevermind once it starts", she smiled in the direction of Belric and Willis,"I wonder what he's going to do when Dacey comes to hit him?"
"And to your comment Willis,"she smirked, her temper on the rise,"I'll give you the proper answer when I knock you on your ass."
(OOC: please tell me there isn't going to be a roll for my curse right now....)

"I'll defend myself. But I won't go looking to embarrass you ladies until I need to." Willem replied. "As for whether I'm related to you, I'm sure I'll prove I can hit well enough once this gets under way."

"If Dacey comes at me, I'll knock her on her ass. Or she'll knock me on mine." He laughed from deep within his belly. "And then we'll have a drink and hold it over each other's heads for the rest of our lives."

Aelison smiled at Belric, knowing what he was saying was the truth. It's felt good to know that even in their new found status, they are still family.
"Well I'll take a piece of that, Will, and I won't try to embarrass you until after I take out a few Lords myself."

Willem openly laughed at that. "Best of luck with that, my lady."

Familiar with condensending, underestimated tone of most men about her, Aelison smiled at him, "And I wish you the same."

Unsure why Belric believed any Highborn individual would desire the hand of a woman who thought herself a man and who was about to dreadfully embarrass herself in front of the entirety of the Riverland nobility, Willem could summon no more than, "Very kind of you, my lady." Followed by a sceptical glance in Belric's direction.

Belric shrugged, not picking up on the meaning behind Willem's hostile look. "What did I do?" He asked, chuckling as he spoke.

"Nothing my lord." Willem replied not pushing the issue.

Belric smiled, satisfied by Willem's response. "Very well, keep your secrets. They will not help you on the battlefield." He teased his cousin, stamping his jest with a friendly punch in the arm. "Just remember, you're banners are black now."

"Of course, my lord." Willem replied. "I know the colour of my blood."
