Character History: Daven was born in a small rural village un-marked on any mapand probably not even named by fondly called by those that livethere just as home. His mother was a stay at home wife helping out in the fields or baking bread for the family. Daven was shown to be an impressive woodsmen from an early age and found his way into an unofficial apprenticeship (Due to a size he couldn’t outright leavethe family to work on the fields alone) with the village fletcher and bow maker. Daven lived a quiet life, learning how to best make bows and thrive in the woods while fawning over the girls of the village. He had his sights on one of the girls in particular a Miss Rosie who lived just a couple doors down. She was a beauty and her and Daven wouldsneak touches in empty barns and storehouses in the way that all innocent adolescentsdo. Unfortunately this took a turn for the worse as when Daven got up the nerve to ask her father for her hand in marriage the war swept through the village in a storm of fire and steel as one of the sides raided the small village burning the homes and taking what food was stored to feed their army. Distraught and unable to cope with the loss of his home and his village as one of the few survivors who got knocked unconscious at the very beginning of the raid, Daven fled the area going to the shelter of thenearest town where he was unable to find any work as a fletcheror huntsman and thrown flat onhis face as just another refugee of the war.
Unknowing of theways of the world outside of his village, Daven was continuously beat and thrown out of towns and holdfasts as just another mouth to feed. Finally after a gruelingperiod of some months ofDaven fleeing the war, (and unknowinglyfinding himself in theWest) Daven saw a lord’s son and his bodyguard riding through the forest that the poor villager was trying to find refuge in.Daven finally cracked under the pressure of losing all he helddear and ambushed the travelers, taking for himself their money and traveling possessions and fleeing into theforest. Finding a good way to keep himself alive in the relative safety of the forest and ambushing any unwary travelers, Davenif not liking his current living situation ended up agreeing with it as proper. This lasted a good month before the Lord, learning that his son had never reached the place where he was supposed to be going (Daven didn’t know much about lords and the like and neverbothered to find out the details) and on learning wherehis son had perished, had roused up a search party of whatever fighting men and peasants able to fight he hadn’t sent to war toflush out the bandit responsible. Daven being the survivor and unassuming peasant that he is managed to actually be a part of his own hunting party where he was the one who ‘miraculously’ foundanother bandit (In actuality his competition) hiding in the forest and saw that the greedy evildoer was hung. Once this trouble passed and realizing that he would need to find a different forest to seek refuge in, Daven left the West to head back towardsthe war and ended up joining Ser Lucas Longinch.
