Character History:
Born the eldest son of Daisy, a serving girl at Raventree Hall, Tim claims that his father was the bastard son of Ser Robert Rivers, a cousin to the lord of Raventree Hall. While it's certainly true that Daisy, enjoyed a brief liaison with Ser Robert Rivers, the people of Raventree typically believed that Tim was actually the child of Stonehead Pate, the biggest and stupidest of the castle guards. Ser Robert never took an interest in Daisy's child, while Pate died of a bad belly when Tim was still a babe in arms. When her son was two years old, Daisy wed Ben, old Lord Blackwood's chief huntsman. While Daisy raised a pack of children, Tim learned the arts of tracking, hunting and archery from his stepfather. Ben was cordial rather than warm towards the boy but welcomed his assistance and enthusiasm and for a time it was understood by the people of Raventree that Tim would one day take Ben's place as huntsman.
As Tim grew older, he developed an interest in training with the spear. He was allowed to do this as long as he kept up his training with Ben, and practiced his archery. While he was a little better than average with a spear, it soon became obvious that the bow was his best weapon. When one of his half-brothers had expressed in becoming a huntsman, Tim, on the cusp of manhood, was released from his duties and given a place among Lord Blackwood's archers. Time passed.
Tim's life continued pleasantly enough. He enjoyed his archery and spear work and when he was off duty he spent time with his father and half-brother in Blackwood Vale, hunting down game. His closest friend was the kennelmaster's assistant too, Red Lem, who gave Tim a pup of his own, a grey hound he named Arrow. The dog remained Tim's constant companion until until it died of an infected wound.
Years later, Brynden Rivers came to Raventree to visit his kin. Tim claims that he was recruited to the Raven's Teeth at this time, but it's more likely that he was chosen as escort to a Blackwood cousin who accompanied Lord Rivers back to King's Landing. Whatever the truth of it, King Aegon IV died a year later and the red and black dragons went to war. Tim fought beneath the banner of the red dragon, either under Lord River's banner or Lord Blackwood's. Despite his claim to have joined the Raven's Teeth before the war, it's sometimes said that he was only invited to join them on the eve of Redgrass Field, and sometimes that he simply had the honour of standing beside them for five minutes. One tale even states that his sole claim to being a member of the Raven's Teeth is the fact that he picked up a fallen weirwood bow and used it until being wounded by the enemy. Yet this is not Tim's only "claim to fame." He also states that he traded blows with King Daemon himself, that his life was saved by Ser Gwayne Corbray, prior to the infamous duel between two great heroes wielding Valyrian steel. Although Tim fought for the Targaryens, he has no loyalty to them and often says that one dragon is as good as another.
Tim was wounded at Redgrass Field and feigned being near death to avoid being taken prisoner. The vivid scar on his face was one of the wounds he got there, the other was a cut to the thigh, messy but shallow. After the battle he was approached by a freerider who thought to rob a dying man of his weapons. Tim killed the man and stole his knife. He left the battlefield area as quickly as possible.
For a time Tim took up with a camp follower named Sybell o' Saltpans, offering her the protection of his bow in exchange for her sexual favours, but the two parted ways two months later when Sybell took up with a knight. As the war continued, Tim, like many others, turned to crime rather than be dragged into the wars of other men. Seven months ago, Tim joined the bandit gang and has remained with them since.
Tim has never liked to see himself as just another man who happened to serve a lord. Secretly, he believes his Blackwood blood is a sign that he's meant for great deeds, even though he's an ordinary man who often relies on ale to keep up his courage before battle. His greatest shame, and the tale he never speaks of, is the fact that he wet himself the first time he faced death as a boy of fourteen, chasing down bandits in Blackwood Vale. Tim is known to be a good hunter but his biggest claim to fame in the outlaw gang is his tendency to make outlandish claims about his past and his parentage. He's also known to be one of the best hunters in the group.
Physical Description:
Rat brown hair and brown eyes, windburned skin. Average stature and stocky build. He has an ugly scar running from just below his right eye to his chin. If I can find a picture I like, I'll use it.
Crimes of Note:
-Accidentally recruited by a wandering crow of the Night's Watch near Duskendale but deserted 2 days into the journey North upon realising his mistake.
-Seduced a septa of Saltpans septry and was given her septa's crystal as thanks for showing her a good time.
-Robbed the Maid of Erenford, a spinster of four and forty, of her jewels upon encountering her at an inn.
-Stole 2 gold chalices from the septry of Fairmarket after claiming sanctuary for the night.
-Robbed a pie shop in Willow Wood and seduced the owner's daughter. Escaped with a bag of silver and half a dozen pies.
-Stole the prized hunting dog of Ser Kevan Keath.
-Hunted the lords' deer in various locations, including Acorn Hall, Willow Wood and Stone Hedge.
Tool of the Trade:
Tim once owned a fabulous weirwood bow, engraved with the names of its famous owners. This magnificent weapon could kill an armored man from 300 yards and is said to have wounded Daemon himself. Alas, this bow is lost, and now Tim merely possesses the castle forged spear of his mentor. It is plain but practical, offering a +5 to combat . In addition, through sheer statistical probability, Tim can elect to automatically pass a single Persuasion check per day.
Yew Bow - Tim is in possession of a finely crafted yew longbow, which gives +5 to bow rolls and +5 to damage against enemies in plate (taken after the death of Daven)
Bounty:
The Seven Kingdoms: 10 Gold Dragons (Dead or Alive)
High Lordship of the Bay of Claws: 200 Silver Stags (Dead or Alive)
High Lordship of the Crossing: 20 Gold Dragons (Alive)
High Lordship of Blackwood: 50 Silver Stags (Alive)
