"Everybody get's one. You already used yours." Harlan replied.

"So is it Donal's chainmail, bow, quiver, shield or sword that you want?" said Alyn.

"The sword will do fine," said Harlan with a polite smile, taking the offering without further permission.
He removed the necessary pieces of armor so that the could get a clear look at the wound. "This is going to sting," he warns, not giving Alyn enough time to respond. Harlan attempts to clean and patch the wound, using a salve of natural herbs to clot the open gash.

Alyn said nothing as Donal's sword was appropriated without his agreeance. His cold eyes met Harlan's own and never left them as the mummer worked on his wound.

(Medicine: 39) It does sting a great deal, but Harlan manages to halt the bleeding entirely and Alyn can rest assured he won't die of any ordinary infection this night. Sadly, the former mummer's fingers don't feel half as magical as last time. (Wound is reduced entirely, assuming Alyn doesn't try to exert himself too much for the rest of the scene. Harlan earns 2 points to Medicine.)

"Good as new," said Harlan, pressing his hand to Longinch's old armor, making a handprint of his own out of Alyn's blood. "Help me gather everyone. We should get the wounded on that boat and leave in haste. Coming here was a mistake. You don't want to know what is in the barn."

Alyn surmised from Harlan's comment that there was more death in the barn. For a man who himself was steeped in the shedding of blood and didn't shrink from shedding more, the infamous Redhands felt strangely reluctant to see for himself what Harlan had spoken of.
Nodding in agreement with Harlan's comment about getting the wounded on the boat and getting the hell out of here, he rose from the ground slinging Donal's bow and quiver over his shoulder, sheathing his own blade and hefting Donal's shield and chainmail on his arm
He looked around for his horse.

After what seems like an hour, Tim finds himself at another set of stairs leading up. The steps and overhead door are wet, but he manages to find the traction to lift it up. Above, there is the barn and hay and terror. His brain struggles to grasp what his eyes are looking at, but eventually and slowly, he discerns a variety of horrors. The first he sees is the large, skinless man hanging from the ceiling on hooks. He twirls slowly and scans the room with lidless eyes, unable to ever look away from Tim whenever they face each other, always ready with a lipless smile to greet the newcomer. Tim finds a second man nearby, or at least it must be a man. He still has most of his skin, but his body is massive and twisted, most of his clothes shredded by whatever worse predator had butchered him. Tim doesn't know from looking at his face if he was always that disfigured. On the ground, closer to the door, he finds the other half of the first man. His pale skin sits in a pile next to what must have been his belongings once. The clothes appear very fine to Tim, but he doesn't find any of the coin or jewelry that is typically found on the person of such a dignitary. The nightmare scene was worse than anything Tim's fertile mind could have imagined. He successfully fought the urge to scream but bile rose into his throat and he vomited onto the floor, twice. Afterwards, he wiped his mouth on his sleeve and managed to block out the horror by telling himself that at least this would make for a good story the next time he was drinking in a tavern, perhaps even good enough to get him a night of free drinks. With that comforting thought he haphazardly gathered up the dead man's fine clothing but when his eye was caught, again, by the grin expression of the skinless man dangling from the ceiling, he was seized by the overwhelming urge to depart. He bolted for the door and fled into the open, towards his comrades. "Oh gods, oh gods!" He cried. "This place is cursed."

Alyn salvaged what he could, including Donal's shield, sword and the chain-mail shirt. It was a gruesome task, but Alyn hadn't come by the sobriquet 'Redhands' for nothing. It was well earned now, as his hands turned slick with Donal's blood as he removed the chainmail. Once he finished he crossed what was left Donal's arms across his body as if he was in repose. His hands still slick witb Donal's blood, Alyn went to each of the other corrpses, leaving a bloody red handprint of Donal's blood each of them, as a mark that Redhands was present at his death. Carrying his loot, Alyn then approached Harlan. "I have need of your healing hands once again, Harlan." he said pointing to his shoulder. "The bastard nicked me." Harlan pinched Vex's good thigh playfully, "Keep your weight off your leg for a few days, and try to refrain from getting it infected." He double checked the tightness of the tourniquet, "Do remember this next time you decided to put a knife to my twig and berries." He gave her a wink. Upon Alyn's approach, Harlan turned to greet him. It took him a moment before he recognized what Alyn was holding in his hands. "Is that... Donal's stuff?" The question was clearly rhetorical. "You just stripped him down and left him in the field?" This question wasn't. For the moment, he refrained from giving Alyn the rubdown he was looking for. "Thank you, dear," said Vex with a sly smile that might've been a bit jarring now that her empty eye socket and the scarring around it were out on display. She covered Harlan's hand with hers as he double checked the tourniquet. "I never forget anything," she said in a tad more serious note now, and gave him a small nod before letting him go to deal with Alyn. Once they were done, she approached the knight. "Shame about the kid," she said, sounding genuine enough. All of this had been a waste. "But you're right not to let his possessions go to waste. I'll take the chain," she offered, nodding at the piece. "You don't need it."

"And what service are you offering?" replied Alyn to Vex in a tone that suggested he wasn't going to give up the chain-mail freely. He heard Tim scream something but remained focussed on Vex.

Harlan jumped at the sound of Tim’s screams. He was already highly unnerved. “By the Seven! What are you yellin about? We just murdered four men. Best to keep your voice down.”

Tim's eyes were wide with fear but Harlan's words recalled him to the gravity of the situation. He managed to lower his voice as he gasped out "I saw...I saw...the most horrible things in the world. Gods, it was...horrible. Dead men, skinned..." He shuddered. "I was looking for gold, but I never found any."

Vex raised an eyebrow, the one that didn't have three scarred lines in it, and smiled slowly, both amused and somewhat impressed. "I'll let you be my right hand man. How's that?" she said, and broke the gaze to look at farmhouse. "Think on it," she told Alyn, winked... or blinked?, and spurred her horse towards Tim, readying her spear in case there were more enemies. "More of them inside?" she asked Tim, getting ready to slide off her horse if necessary.

"Just dead men, is all," Tim answered. "Think we killed all the live 'uns. Monsters, the lot of 'em. Reckon the farmer killed 'is wife, too, 'cept I never saw 'er body. Still, I think we got everythin' worth takin'. Thought I could find me some gold but I never did."
It was clear from his tone that he was still very much shaken.
