Pete's blades come within an inch of taking off Donal's other ear, the superior swordsman unaccustomed to such raw ferocity in a civilized man. Donal thinks he can feel the sensation of another man cutting through his ear, despite the physical nonevent. The other side of his face is such a bloody mess, it's just one more item to his nervous system.
Alyn's mind is perfectly unclouded by pain or shock, and his aim is clear and perfect as his knife surgically removes fingers and dagger from Pete's left hand. This also burns, but in a different fashion. This flame never dies, and tortures other men in their waking dreams long after the battle is over and the crows have flown off with the digits they keep trying to flex.
(Another heavy Wound to Pete and a permanent maim. -70)
Daven wades into sight of the knightly spectacle. He can clearly make out the two heavily armored men butchering the madman, as well as Vex, Harlan, and Tim watching nearby.

Pete let out a roar, and pressed on last time. Like a flame, he would burn bright before going out.

"What in the fuck's sake is going on here?" Daven yells out to the crowd. His knuckles white from gripping his bow roughly. "I'm a second from putting arrows in the both of you. What in the fuck is going on in this nonsense" He walks up to Alyn from behind and makes a grab for the back of the man's amor to stop him from delivering any more blows to the group pet.

Growing aware of the ruckus Donal, Alyn, and Pete we’re causing, Harlan snuck away from the group. There was a good chance the fighting would draw the attention of Old Bael’s sons, or worse... his dogs. Harlan took the opportunity to separate himself from the group, and approach the farm. If they were noticed, Harlan wanted to be as removed from the group as possible.
He attempted to sneak up to the barn, keeping his head low as he crept through the fields. If he gets to the barn, he will attempt to get a look inside.

Daven may have grabbed at Alyn but he could not simultaneously hold Donal who continued to go after Pete.

Strength: 45 Somehow, the armor seems to weigh far more than Alyn does and it is child's play to pull him away from the wounded animals. (3 points awarded to strength. Alyn must react to Daven before he can engage with Pete again.)

In a corner of his mind not focussed totally on killing Pete, Alyn was amazed at the speed at which some people seemed to be able to move, across country and into the fight. When he felt someone he wrench him away from Pete, he turned towards Daven, his blade at the ready.
"Stay out of this, bowman. This is not your fight." he hissed. "Go back to wherever you fled to."
If Daven makes any move to use and draw his bow, Alyn will immediately close to within fighting distance and engage. As Daven had been close enough to grab his person, Alyn reasoned it should be easy to close within bow range.

Thymeon the Tailor had somehow surved the fire and was standing above Pete. He was taller now and wore chainmail, but that was his face, grinning beneath the blood. He must have lost that ear after the beating Pete gave him. Perhaps Thymeon had fled a different door while Pete watched his old life life blaze. Somehow, he could even smell his mother's cheap perfume on the Tailor as he brought his sword and brought it down at least three times. Pete's leather armor had never felt leather. Why...? Why would he think he was wearing leather? Children don't wear armor. Children wear... ashes? They do in Merrytown. Everyone wears ashes in Merrytown. It was the fashion. Pete had been a tailor's apprentice, after all. He understood fashion.
(Pete takes a heavy wound for -35, now -105. Pete is mortally wounded but not dead.)

Donal was furious at having been attacked, and now that he had been fighting for some time his bloodlust was up. His fury at Pete for reopening his painful wound made him want to humiliate the man in death, and tired of not being taken seriously by anyone other than Harlan, Alyn, and Bandy (who was now dead), he wanted to prove a point as he did so. He tried to kick the remaining knife out of Pete's hand so he could drag the man down to the river and drown him.

"Its not my fight, I'm just trying to end the fucking fight." He snarls, "I think you need to cool off some." He says as he leans over and attempts to hurl the man further backwards into the river.

If he gets to the barn, he will attempt to get a look inside. (Stealth: 40) (Observation: 30) Harlan finds the farmstead strangely absent of barking, and the back porch now devoid of the hounds. The lights in the house have dimmed and the horse tied to the front post is likewise gone. The light in the barn is still bright though, and the bandit finds the door unlocked. Inside, he can see the outline of a man cutting meat. It takes Harlan's brain nearly a minute to gasp what the man is cutting, being more focused on more obvious factors like treasure and weapons. What appears to be a headless hog or perhaps a third cow hangs from the ceiling on various hooks, already skinned by the stranger. He sings a bawdy tune in a deep roaring voice to himself as he cuts away. Get off my ass, you wee bitty fuck If I pull out the claymore you're shit outta luck Who's that girl, that pretty young thing? After I fuck her, she'll get up and sing
Aye aye aye, sharpen your boot, and bludgeon your eye Aye aye aye, the Seven Hills bring a tear to me eyeWithout the head attached, Harlan doesn't recognize the skinless specimen until the butcher spins it around to cut off another slice of meat. Then Harlan sees the limbs and genitals more clearly. And he understands why Old Man Bael is so well-fed, yet the farm looks like shit. As the revelation sinks in, the old monster's child finally stands in order to reach another cutting implement to better slice the latest wanderer to visit Old Man Bael's farmstead. Harlan hadn't even realized he had been sitting down in the first place. On his feet, he is nearly twice the size of his future meal.

(Due to water-related penalties and a very lousy Strength roll, Alyn must use up his next post simply exiting the muddy river. Fortunately, he was already going to want to clean his armor regardless.)

Daven looks down at the man in the water. “Calm the fuck down. What possessed you two to kill another of our gang while at the site of a job.” He spats towards the river while gesturing to Pete bleeding motionless onto the ground. “As far as I’m concerned you can stay in that river until the guards come. Should have never fucking come back to check on you ingrates.” He says spitting on the ground towards Tim, Vex and the missing Harlan, before turning around and walking off into the night down river again.

Flooded with terror, Harlan fought to swallow the lump in his throat. He had seen horror before... hell, he had been that horror for countless women. However he had never witnessed anything like this. Carving up another man and serving him for supper, where does that get fun?
Fighting the fear resonating through his legs, Harlan forced himself to make a move. He backed away from the door as silently as possible, turning the corner of the barn so as to conceal himself behind the wall. He thought to call out to his companions in warning, but self preservation kept his tongue.

Still clutching his blade, Alyn spluttered to the surface in what was not very deep water to see Daven stalking off downriver from where he had suddenly appeared. Many, such as maybe Donal, would have stormed after Daven, but all Alyn did was to smile coldly. He stood up, rivulets of water pouring from chinks in Longinch's plate armor, the red writing on the cuirass now smeared and running to be almost unreadable.
Alyn climbed onto the bank and moved calmly over to where Pete lay, his blade at the ready in case there was any further resistance. Daven had told him to calm down but Redhands had been calm, measured and efficient from the start of Pyro Pete's attack.
He had seen death many times and the madman looked dead, but the ever cautious Alyn Redhands needed to make sure.
