Donal looked at them coming incredulously. Weren't these the two who had just yelled and spat at him? What were they doing coming back?
Then it struck Donal. These two idiots must have been too stupid to appreciate the merits of his plan at first, but after spending minutes in Barley's presence they had realized just how intellectually inferior she was. Donal was very, very, tempted to insult the duo, but the added numbers would be helpful, and they were coming back for his plan, so perhaps that meant they were willing to follow his leadership after all. Insulting them if that was the case would be a bad decision. Better to reaffirm they were correct for leaving Barley, he concluded.
"Tim! Pete! I see you've realized there's merit to my plan after all." he called softly with a winning grin. "I'm glad you realized that dumb wench was wrong."

"You said what about Barley? I'll show you the fucking dumb wench." Pete's eyes flared. He threw his stuff to the ground and charged towards Donal, keeping his daggers sheeted on himself. "You puny fucking bastard. "

Tim had been about to make a comment to the effect that he had come back for the loot, but Pete's behaviour stopped him in his tracks. He watched eagerly to see what would happen next.

"You puny fucking bastard. " (Unnarmed Combat 50) Donal was surprised when Pete started raving, and was in no mood to be attacked after having just lost his ear and fought for his life not two bells earlier. Seeing as Pete had promised to beat him to a pulp that very afternoon, Donal was taking no chances. As Pete moved toward him he drew his blade. Taking Pete to be the type to try to avenge a wound or an insult to his pride later, and not particularly caring to wake up on fire unexpectedly, Donal resolved to kill him if he could. (Chain, Swords (+5 Against Leather) 62, Tool of the trade: +5 to rolls and +5 damage) (Donal has a Medium Wound for -15) (OOC: Will fight without a shield out of fairness to Pete, as he wouldn't have had time to grab that too.)

Alyn, who had drawn his blade earlier, was in no mood to put up with Pete's shit. The man had abandoned them earlier and now for whatever reason was back, throwing his weight around and endangering their plan to hit the farmstead.
Redhands had travelled with Pete for the last six months and had the feeling that for some reason Pete didn't like him. He had no idea why as to his knowledge he had never crossed Pete nor given him other cause. He had served the interests of Longinch and the gang as well as he could. However the man was not rational and he was beginning to feel that the man's behavior was not only a danger to the group but a danger to Alyn's own safety and freedom. He would give him a real cause now.
Alyn had never been interested in fighting fairly. Taking advantage of any edge he had, had helped him singlehandly kill the three men back at the scene of Longinch's hanging and had long helped him commit a long string of murders and assassinations in his lone war against the Brackens and their ilk.
He moved towards Pete, his eyes cold and calculating, preparing to kill him as quickly and efficiently as he could, if he persisted in his course of action.

Tim had been expecting Pete and Donal to throw a few punches at each other, which would have been good sport. He certainly hadn't expected blades to be drawn. With visions of loot disappearing, he called out "Stop! If we kill each other, we'll stand no chance at robbin' the farm."

Donal :52 Pete: 107
Donal's degenerate father might have expressed a verbal hint of pride had he seen his son's pose and resolution in the brief moment before Pete's fist struck the side of his face with a wet crunch, the old head wound reopening onto the madman's knuckles. The would be knight managed to stay on his feet, but finds himself pushed two entire feet back by the blow. Fortunately, Donal's time in the war means this is not his first time being struck across the head and finds himself perfectly conscious and able to react.
(Donal receives almost the exact same Medium Wound in less than two hours. His health is now -30 overall. Pete receives +1 to match his bloody knuckles.)
(Alyn will join next round.)

Harlan had been excited to see a few more of the gang turn up. What had once been a near suicide mission was beginning to look like a proper job. That was until Pete lashed out at Donal.
Terrified of being wrapped up in the bloodshed, Harlan stepped back to a properly safe distance. Should Alyn and Donal make quick blade work of their crazy companion, Harlan prepared to put the pieces back together.

Donal was preparing to skewer Pete when the madman bashed his head harder than a fist had any right to. Donal staggered back, and it took much concentration to retain his balance.
"I'm going to dump your corpse in the river when I'm done with you, madman." he vowed, pulling his shield from his back before going right back at his foe.
(OOC: Donal is now using his shield)

"You're going to pull a blade on me, you bastard." Pete said, pulling his pair of daggers from their holders. "I'll gut you like a Pig" he tried to keep as close range as possible to nullify Donald's sword.

Vex fished an apple out of her saddle bag and took a bite, adjusting her horse for a better view of the unfolding scene. "Oh, come on," she said, off-handedly pointing the apple at Alyn, "That's hardly fair."

Alas for the Smallfolk of Westeros, the concept of knightly prowess wasn't a myth. What was a myth though was chivalry. The two scions of knightly houses proceeded to cut into Pete like a tender roast and in a matter of seconds, the working whore's child had multiple cuts across his torso. Pete lifted his daggers almost heroically and flailed like a champion juggler, but it was of little accord. He would need his hands just to keep from bleeding out and he did not have enough hands to hold in five different cuts. Surprisingly, his body burned, or perhaps that was simply the lack of oxygen in his lungs after the exertion it takes some men to die.
(Heavy Wound to Pete for -35. +1 to both Alyn and Donal.)

Donal was showing no mercy to Pete, who had after all just promised to gut him if the fight turned in his favor. As his and Alyn's blades opened Pete's skin, he pressed forward, eager to do more damage.

"Fuck you, Alyn. Fuck the bloody fuck out of your fucking fuck, you fucking fuck." Pete barked as the two dickheads poked at him. He knew he was not coming out of that alive, there'd be no surrender.
"I'm going to the Seven Hells, but you're coming with me." He pressed on at Donal, his two blades flashing.

Any shred of mercy Redhands might have felt, was snuffed out by confirmation of Pete's antipathy towards him. Why the man had disliked him previously, he didn't know but that was largely irrelevant now. The former knight had been turned into a cold hearted killer since the deaths of his family. He himself had not survived this long, or gained what he had, by showing mercy to those that wanted to kill him. A known enemy in his midst was a sure way to court disaster and death.
Not uttering a word in reply, his cold eyes intent on his prey who was now seeking to do as mauch damage to Donal as possible, Alyn pressed in on Pete his blade flashing. Better to end it quickly and cleanly.
