“Apologies, how thoughtless of me. Let me help you with that,” he replied with a disarming smile, before suddenly pulling the chain towards him sharply and kneeing Lucas in the gut. “Think you can handle it now? Because unless you’re hiding a bag of gold dragons on you gods know where, you can’t afford to have me touch your pecker.”

Lucas grunted in pain as he was kneed in the gut. He clenched his teeth until the worst of the pain abated, and then responded.
"Just showing you what a real man looks like. Figured a piece of shit like you who needs coin to feel good bout himself might not know." He slowly began lacing himself up, taking his sweet time doing so.

For a moment it looked like the knight might knee him again, this time somewhere lower, but he laughed instead at his captive's impudence.
"Everything that makes a man feel good requires a bit of coin, whether it's food in your belly, a drink in your hand, or a woman in your bed," he replied, before reaching into his pocket and tossing Lucas one of the bone dice inside. "But as your heading to the gallows, how about a little wager? Roll high and I'll head back in and purchase you all three. Roll low and I'll give you the thrashing you've got coming."

Lucas carefully examined the dice he had been given, having dealt with enough disreputable men over his travels to have learned to be wary of a die another man gave freely. He checked in particular that it felt properly weighted and had all the correct markings on it.
"Can I trade the woman for something else?" he asked as he checked the die over. "Unlike most, my wedding vows mean something to me."

“Keep the sermons to the sept,” he replied, as Lucas inspected the die, rolling his eyes at the moral lecture from a murderer. It looked normal enough and didn’t feel weighted. “And what is it you’ll be wanting instead?”

"Mercenary is the proper term I would think. Even then more of a sell-crossbowman if one wants technicalities." Taero says amused. "If we just had swords then there would have been no reason to hire us."

Tim frowned. Fancy words like mercenary were too high and mighty for the likes of him.
"As yer will. Gonna stay 'ere or go back 'ome?"

Asking for the chains to be removed, at least partially, was an obvious one. But that would probably not get granted. "How bout we forgo the woman, but keep a bed of my own for tonight." He proposed.

"You have yourself a wager," he replied, after a moment of consideration.

Lucas said no prayers for luck. The gods had forsaken him up to this point so he saw no cause to turn to them now. He had made it as far as he had by making his own luck but that was not a possibility in this situation, so he simply hoped chance was on his side.
He gently tossed the die as best he could given his limited capacity to move his arms. It was directed at the ground between Dicer and himself.

The die came up five. “Lucky you, I was going to find out how deep they dug the latrine using your head I’d you laid,” Dicer remarked, his tone leaving it up in the air whether or not he was joking. “Let’s get you that drink and meal then.”

He had a rude retort in mind for the comment about the latrine, but figured it was best to not piss off the man who was giving him a free drink, food, and bed. It had been days since he had enjoyed any of those things. He began to hop as quickly as he could back toward the inn.

The bounty hunter dragged his charge back to the table he had left, surprised to see a newcomer had taken his spot. True to his word, he ordered Lucas a mug of ale and a plate of the roast pore.
"You dice, lad?" he asked Tim, taking his seat once more, before motioning to Taero."Already took the foreigner for all he was worth, but maybe you'll have a bit more luck."
