Character History:
Born to Aegon IV's final Mistress, Serenei, Saesha is the twin sister of Shiera Seastar the current Mistress of Whispers. Shiera and Saesha's birth was part joy, part tragedy, as their birth caused the death of their mother. It is unknown who was born first, as the girls were mixed up in the confusion of trying to save Serenei's life.
For the first part of their life, Shiera and Saesha were inseparable. Like most twins, they did everything together, played together, ate, drink and slept together. It was not until the girls were slightly older that their interests began to force them to spend more time apart. Saesha was consumed with a desire to know. She had a thirst for knowledge rarely seen in children so young, and people in general. If she was not reading in the library, she was reading books secreted away in her room.
While she was off learning about engineering and the like, her sister was doing the exact opposite and was studying the principals of the arcane. Saesha could not understand her sisters interest in something so... open to interpretation. There was very little room for grey in her young mind, and magic just seemed so unnecessary to her now. Especially when she was it being used to improve upon her sisters looks, the very thing their mother had been reviled for. While it did not drive a wedge between the two, it did reduce the time they spent together suddenly and dramatically.
It was during a trip to the Great Sept that she first discovered her interest in architecture. Namely when she refused to go in, because she did not understand how the roof was kept up. To her young mind, it was an accident waiting to happen and it was surely going to fall down on her head. She only returned after she was explained some of the principles involved in making the Great Sept, but not satisfied, threw herself into studying it. Only after she completely understood how the structure retained it's integrity would she return.
One problem Saesha had growing up was exercise. She was incredibly inactive. All she wanted to do was read and study. She did not want to go outside and play, nor did she want to take walks in the gardens. She wanted to sit and read. She had a brain that meant she would refuse to do things unless she saw reason in them. She could walk from her room to the library, and from there she could walk back again, and so long as she was able to do this, she was content that she was physically fine. Everyone around her saw her growing pale, thin and sickly, but it was not until the Grand Maester noticed it starting to interfere with healthy development that proper steps were taken. Saesha refused them all, until her brother Brynden persuaded her to take up some sword training, as it was always necessary to defend oneself if needed. She saw the logic in that and soon spent some time every day practicing with a private tutor.
Saesha was a solitary child, having few friends and developing social skills slowly. She so rarely interacted with people outside of her own family that when she was older and could no longer avoid social situations she found them awkward and uncomfortable, giving some people to see her as cold and haughty like her mother. She warmed as the art grew on her, and socialising came more easily with time, but first impressions can last a long time. Once she is comfortable with people, she tends to be very relaxed and pleasant company.
Through their whole lives, Saesha and her sister were close. They shared plenty. When she was a teenager though, she noticed the close relationship with Shiera and their half brother Brynden. Thinking nothing of it, and that it was something the two of them could share again, she went to Brynden Rivers' rooms one night and offered herself to him, but was rejected. Outwardly she showed no resentment, but inside she could not understand how her sister and she could be rejected by a man who accepted one of them. Despite Shiera knowing of the rejected offer, the relationship between the sisters remained strong.
When the war started, Saesha joined her brother, Daemon. She saw little physical action in the battles and instead helped in other ways, by helping the troops with the design and construction of impressive field fortification that she had either studied, or that she devised on the spot as needed. She liked to think it was only because of her belief that Daemon was the best choice for King that steered her actions, but things had never been right with her and Bloodraven after his rejection, she could not definitely rule it out as part of the motive.
Physical Description: Saesha and Shiera are twin sisters. They looked identical up until the age of thirteen. At that time Shiera started to get everything more. She had a slightly curvier figure, a slightly bigger bust, slightly fuller lips, slightly shinier hair. This was due to Shiera adding to her already impressive looks through magic. Saesha is what the two would look like with no magical aids. She is pale, with silver gold hair from her father. Her eyes are mismatched like her sisters, but reversed. It was the only way most people could tell them apart when they did not know them well.
Reputation: Considered haughty like her mother, not helped by her reputation as being purely cold and logical. Her reputation is not an accurate depiction on her character. Some believe she may have the Targaryen Madness from her outburst as a child.
Boon:
Sisters Share Everything-Once per in-game month Saesha may make an espionage roll using her sister's network. She also gains fluency in Southern Low Valyrian and starts one disposition level higher with the other Great Bastards.
Curse:
King Harren's Revenge- Black of hair, black of eye, black of heart. You're his favorite.
