Hoster's lower eyelid twitched at the mention of the gods. He was only able to contain himself from exploding because he was sober, had it been otherwise he might have done things the gods might not like. "Da gods don' like ceilings, lil' Lady. Nor o'er types o' buildings." He said, taking slow deep breaths. His heart pounded like ram inside his chest, he had to find something to drink. "Da gods like open skies, forests, lakes... They is da Gods of the wilds. It is knowed. I wonder why Bruce didnee teach yer tha'."

"But my mother taught be about the Seven, and sent me off to the motherhouse. The septas taught me that the Seven were the true gods. We were not allowed to even talk about the Old Gods there. I follow only the Seven now. They have septs all over Westeros, so they must like buildings."

"We did," Alice responded with a nod. "I still don't like being near horses but a coach is much preferable to riding." She smirked at him before looking up at the king. She'd never seen a king before and didn't really know how one would look like but what she saw seemed to fit. "Is he a good man? The king?" She asked her uncle as she looked their ruler over. "Yes..." Richard slowly, marshaling his thoughts "he's strong, he has control of his fear, he cares. That is what draws men to him. He cares. About the kingdom, about anyone he talks to. I don't think I can judge him fairly though. I am not in his confidence."

Hoster had never liked Diane, she always scolded him with her eyes when he came home to try and squeeze some money out of Bruce (or as he'd like to call, a Family Visit). Neither had he liked his brother, but at least the man had not filled the child's ear with poppycock.
"Ye see tha' fat bast... man up there, wi' the golden crown and wealthy silk robes?! He bought it with the people's gold. Gold poor hungry folk could use to buy food. Them of da Faith take monee from those who needs it most." And woe to those who compared his own honest line of work with this type of scam. Hypocrisy was too much of a fancy word to be in Hoster's dictionary. "I can't believe in Gods who allows this type of bugger... abuse in their names. The Old Gods hav' no fancy folk in robes to speak foh them, they hav' no use for gold an' wealth. They just is the Gods, people believe them 'cause they can feel they is real, lassie, not 'cause some fat fello' in a building told them to do so." He spoke in a hushed tone with just a small hint of annoyance.

Yoren, a simple man from a backwater riverlands town, couldn't help but look around every place here in kings landing with a sense of awe and amazement at how big and grand everything was. He'd have to remember to paint some of these places later, to enjoy them for some time to come.
The young man, now a knight thanks to his fighting in the riverlands, had come to see his friend Belric married, and to congratulate him on getting a position as lord of the biggest castle in the land. The two had fought at redgrass, and after the battle Yoren had returned to defend his hometown from the ravages of war, and eventually managed to be granted knighthood by Lord Darry. Now that the war had ended, so to had the need for his services, but even still the man couldn't shake an itch, one he couldn't quite pin down.
"You're so lucky Belric...." He commented to himself as he stood near the back of the sept, with the other knights who'd come in service f their own lords, "I just hope you'll be okay..." He said, a bit of worry in his voice. Harrenhal wasn't the best place to be, even a small town boy like him knew that. The last family who lived there used to steal kids to drink their blood. He'd need someone to watch his back livivng there, something he fully intended to do.

Alice still felt a little worried about her future position at court but she ad grown a little accustomed to it. She briefly caught her sister's eyes and gave her a supportive smile, seeing as she was trapped in a conversation with uncle Hoster.

"Charity, caring for the dead, help for the poor, and reverence for the gods are worthy goals for money given to the septs" said Richard softly in reply to hosters tirade "peace Hoster. This is not the time for such words. Nor place." The youngest of the brothers did not like to reprimand those older than him, but in this place, they should be grateful, not disparaging.
"I have not met the queen, no" he said to Alice after a normal, non-long, quite short, pause.

Violet glanced from Hoster to Richard anxiously. She didn't want to get into an argument about the gods, especially here, in their own house. She vaguely remembered Richard as another of her uncles (how many did she have?)
"You're right, ser," she murmured, hoping she'd got his title right. She could never remember who was actually a knight in the family and who was not. "the septons and septas do good works, Uncle Hoster. They look after the poor and bring comfort to the sick and dying. I never heard of the Old Gods bringing comfort to anyone."

Hoster snorted his disapproval at Richard's intromission; he disliked all his brothers, but Ser Goody Two Shoes Richard had special place in his black list, always too good, always too knightly. "But not 'cause ye won the argument. It's in respect to lil' Beri... Belric o'er there, aye?! It's 'is day, I'll respect it; even if it mean me standin' in this place." The lengths he went to secure a stable job.

Tallahar had managed to find some fine clothes to wear although it had not been easy. The doublet he wore was obviously made for a much fatter man but the Bastard brother did not seem to mind. He stood straight back just behind most of the Blackfort family.

When Saesha entered the sept with Daemon, she didn't look happy, or unhappy, her face was almost entirely blank as she approached the front. She was entirely unbothered by the people, the strangers, her new good family, or her old half family. "Very handsome," she commented in regards to Daemon's observation about Ravensbane. She supposed it was true.
She wore a dress with a turquoise bodice and different coloured layered blue silks for the skirts. It trailed behind her as she walked, a remnant from the time before the war. Around her waist she had a silver white sash. She wore little jewellery, not really caring much for it, in truth.her hair was down.
She waited next to Daemon at the front of the sept on the Blackfyre side.

Violet bit her lip. "I'm sure Belric is most grateful for your forbearance, uncle. But it's just a few words and prayers and then there will be the feast. There were a few girls at the motherhouse who didn't much care for the gods. All they had to do was sing and pretend to pray and nobody was any the wiser."

For someone who always made a point of being on time (or early), Dacey arrived at the sept embarassingly late, having vastly underestimated the crowds of King's Landing and the time it'd take her to slip past them. Feeling like she'd just wrestled her entire way up the steps to the sept, her face fell for a brief moment when she realized the situation inside was even worse.
She noticed Yoren standing nearby at the back and sighed, wishing she hadn't promised Belric she'd take her 'place' in the front with the rest of their family. A dark red cloak covered the simple black dress she was wearing, and she pulled it tightly around her shoulders to make herself smaller as she passed through the crowd, elbowing people when she had to.
Excruciating five minutes later, she reached the other Blackforts and silently took her place behind them, eyeing the altar with a blank look on her face.

With aide from an acolyte, the High Septon eventually reached the pulpit and in a rich timbre that reached every corner of Baelor's Sept with no effort, began. "Today, like every day in this sept, we are gathered to honor the Seven. Today, we honor the Father, whose judgment guided his agent Daemon Blackfyre to rise up against his corrupt forefathers. We honor the Mother, who even now nurtures our scarred and sickly realm back to health. We honor the Warrior, who lead these good men, these honorable men before me, in sweeping the land like a Maester's blade through a rotting limb. We honor the Maiden, in hopes that she might deign to sow and reap our newfound innocence as believers. We honor the Smith, that he might direct our hands in rebuilding our homes and old friendships. We honor the Crone, whose wisdom might guide His Grace. And we honor the Stranger, so that we may also honor those he has taken from us, and those whom we have taken from others. Bow your heads so that I may sing the appropriate hymn."
The High Septon needed no help in singing 'Between the Hills Was I Born', drowning out the first five rows with his skillful baritone. The poxy lord beside Belric displayed a surprising tenor, and was crying by the end of the song.

Being a distant relation who barely knew Belric's family, Willis had opted to stay near the back with the other knights. Better company, anyway, and no septas to shush you if you felt like having a little conversation. Standing next to Yohn, he glanced over when the other man started muttering. "What was that?" He asked, "My ears ain't what they used to be before the war, speak up."
