"Naw, t'is was a good speech... Maybe the fat fuck can't see 'em, but 'e surely got sum' balls. " Hoster glanced smugly at Violet, expecting to find her extremely disrupted by the frankness of the High Septon. "If ye'd telled me yer Faith weddin's 'ere like t'is, I'd have attended to one sooner." Again, he had to hold himself from laughing.

Percival wondered if the High Septon would felate the new king at the feast or wait until this evening. Clearly the man of the gods was so desperate to for the approval of the Crown he was willing to drop to his knees and beg. The High Septon had ruined those folks weddings because they didn't matter. Percival shook his head sadly remembering his own fate was now tied to one of those pawns.

All the pomp and magnificence of the wedding died when the High Septon began his speech. Alice wasn't as mortified as many others when the man swore but she was surprised. And then she was very bored by the longwinded monologue that the large man gave. So little attention did she pay that the rudeness of the speech passed her by completely. When it was finally over she managed a smile for her brother and his new wife.

Violet was horrified by the High Septon's speech but the septas had trained her well. She concentrated on admiring the bride's fine gown. Perhaps one day she would own one half as fine.
To Hoster she said, quietly "Septons are not usually so lacking in decorum. But I'm pleased you are enjoying yourself."

How dare the fat man insult Grand Maester Alford. As if this wedding was not enough of a farce as it was... The high Shelton just had to... She did not know what. This was the worst day of hers in recent memory. Belric stood at the alter, Saesha's hands in his. He looked to her, trying to force a tender smile, despite her obvious outrage. What she was upset about, Belric did not know, but he knew a scornful woman when he saw one. Belric was however pleased that his wife's anger was not immediately directed at him... Yet. "It is good to finally meet you." Belric said aloud to his new wife, clearly dishonoring some ancient marriage custom he did not understand. "I am Belric."

Ser Richard disapproved of the speech but remained silent. The hypocrisy of the Great Sept worried him, but the Seven were not found here as much. They were in the fields and hills, in the small septs on the road, in the minds and hearts of man.

Yoren stared blankly ahead, the speech having mostly passed over his head, but not enough that he didn't pick up that there was a lot of flattery and insults both at once in it. He reached up and scratched his head,, trying to make heads or tails of it as he resolved ot just wait it out. The septon was a man of the gods after all, it wasn't like he could pummel the guy for speaking nonsense, much less at a wedding.

Edmure sat impassively through the ceremony, showing little emotion as the proceedings dragged on. He gave a small smile at the High Septon's speech, wondering how that would be received by his sister Violet. Or more importantly how it would be received by the King.

Saesha did not follow the seven, so it really did not matter to her.
"I am Saesha Seastars," she greeted, "it is a pleasure for me also, you distinguished yourself in the war, we are all grateful for your bravery," she said, making an admirable effort to make it sound genuine. All Saesha saw was a blissfully happy idiot. She could work with that at least.

At their own pace, guests begin making their way outside the Sept, where a fleet of carriages awaits. A modest feast has been prepared at the Red Keep by the King, with a special table prepared for the Blackfort family and their newest member.
(Welcome to the game proper! Do as you please! Party hearty with the aristocracy! Or die ignobly in an alley! See KL court thread in Setting section if you're interested in who plays which NPCs.)

"Perhaps not nearly as brave as you." Belric said to her as they made their way from the alter. The Septom had clearly botched the ceremony, that much was obvious to the blissful idiot. However Belric was resolved to honor is friend and king by respecting his sister. "Your brother is convincing. But I never thought he would be convincing enough for you to agree to this marriage."

A deep voice interrupted the newlyweds from their burgeoning romance. "Excuse me, my Lord and Lady Blackfort. If I may have a brief word?"
The High Septon stood with the assistance of an ornate staff and a younger septa.

Violet took her place at the Blackfort table. She felt overwhelmed, as if she were living in a dream. She had never seen anything finer in all her life. She believed that the great story of her life was about to begin tonight.
She looked around for interesting people, particularly handsome young men.

It didn't take long for Hoster to get drunk after they arrived in the Feast place. For a man who drank as much as he did, Hoster got very drunk without the need much alcohol, as if his body tried to return to its natural balance point, that being 'shitfaced'. Some men might have felt suppressed by the might of the hall, but not Hoster, with his mind in the clouds, the only thing he could think about the decorations was how could he sneak some of them out to sell on the streets.
Hoster made sure to guarantee a seat near his nieces, where he could be loud and make them feel like shit. At every passing serving wenches (who were probably higher born than him) he hammered his fist on the table demanding a new tankard, often he reached to grope their underskirts.

"I have always helped my brother, now he needs me to marry you, abd here we are," she replied, "I fought in the war with you, helped Daemon there, this is hardly brave compared to that." She replied, feeling a little insulted. "But thank you,"
She looked back at the high septon and waited for him to catch them up,
