Before he leaves, Richard turns and asks over his shoulder "Is there yet a master of arms for the Red Keep?" "Not yet. I think His Grace is still interviewing candidates. Most of his men are veterans, so there seems little need of it. If you seek a sparring partner, there are always hedge knights looking to prove themselves against the Kingsguard. I saw His Grace himself best two at a time yesterday without breaking sweat." Elric still seemed in awe of the memory.

Nylres goes to find his uncle. He needs a good sword for some revenge. Richard is in his chambers, resting. He looks up at Nyles as the lad enters the tower "Nephew. Does his Grace have need of me?"

"Always," Nyles said, "but that is not why I'm here." He sat down. "I sought out and found one of the most vigorous assayers of Her Grace's honor. I plan on making him pay tomorrow night. After the funeral I feel no disloyal talk can be allowed to appear unanswered." He looked to his uncle, who he knew a bit from war but was two decades his senior. "Do you agree?"

Richard looks at Nyles curiously for a moment, then glances out the window. "To be just. Words were said that deserved a rebuttal, and if his grace was not going to the sept I would have challenged him then and there. But stabbing a man such as that in the dark accomplishes little, doesn't it?"

Nyles shrugged. "Justice that requires publicity is done for attention. This is done because it's what should be done."

Nyles shrugged. "Justice that requires publicity is done for attention. This is done because it's what should be done." "Should be? The kings squire killing another common born in the city, likely on the kings own orders, would do nothing but incite further violence if discovered. And hunting a random insulting commoner does nothing for honor. They are beneath us. There was another man though, one who seemed to select some from the crowd... He wore the red dragon. Likely had something to do with the burning carriages. That is the man we need, not some bold peasant."

"A mastermind, as it were?" Nyles felt a sudden end to his ennui. A real target. "Excellent," he said. "I'll find out everything I can about him. Describe him in detail. Maybe this over-loud tanner can help me with finding him. If not, well," Nyles shrugged. "The peasants feel emboldened by a lack of response to their words, and so they proceed to action. I'll be careful," he said, "But this dragon man won't just magically appear. We need to draw him out. The best way will be by making examples of those who agree with him."

"You found the other one without doing such a thing" Richard says with some consideration "Killing any supposed compatriots might just make the man leave the city, or bring an ambush upon you. Why not find as much as you can first, then inform Ser Quentyn so a informed move can be made. Sending a kingsguard into the city in this climate though is asking for a lynching." Even the greatest knight would die when outnumbered by a mob, and a pitchfork in the head ended anyone.

Nyles nodded. "There's sense in what you're saying," he agreed. "We need information. To get that I need to interrogate those we know about. Get this man to spill information about a bigger man, and on, and on," he said. "But this is my only lead."

Richard would describe the man with the red dragon as best he could to Nyles. "One you have something, i would lend my blades to bringing these people to their faith. I will broach the topic with the king. Though, if he counsels against I may not be able to do much. Ser Harkab might be more free to act."

Nyles pays attention to the man's description. "I'll handle this one alone then," he said. "I'm heading to a tanner names Herb's house on the way to the Sept. I shouldn't be more than two or three hours."

"Take care Nephew. Has His Grace had time for you to go against the quintain yet?" Richard asked, turning the conversation to lighter matters.

"Of course," he said. "I'm new to the lance but it is rather fun. I won't be Leo Longspear any time soon but I will hold my own," he promised.
