"Sellswords. A copper a dozen. I'm more concerned about this armor..." He looked at his brother for his reaction.

(Taking over for Zack)
"If you were my squire..." Lord Bittersteel stood and towered over Nyles, his voice a low growl that conjured images of hungry dragons. "I would throw you in the black cells for this madness. I would have you put on trial for dragging my name into this farce, for murdering a businessman, for being fool enough to play goldcloak without so much as kneeling before me and kissing my boots in forgiveness. I might even go so far as to strip your uncle of his cloak, for encouraging you in this stupidity."
He turned his violet glare on Richard. "Don't deny it. We know our sister told you about the false Septons, and instead of consulting the Master of Laws or the Lord Commander of the City Watch, you sent your own king's squire into danger. He could have died for your callousness, or worse, been captured and tortured for details about the King's affairs. Would you feel so heroic when my wife is murdered in her bed and I ask you how the assassin acquired your nephew's papers granting him entry into her chambers?"
(Bittersteel succeeds in Intimidation roll. Only 3 points higher and Nyles would be defecating himself in front of his uncle and the King.)

Nyles would have to recheck his papers. His wife was very attractive.
"I'm not being heroic!" Nyles insisted, and by this point he could almost taste the fear in his throat. "That man nearly killed us! I'd chase him to hell if I had to." He had a good moment of panic and rode it through. "If the Mistress of Whisperers was doing her job SHE'D tell the Gold Cloaks to kill the son of a bitch!" He shouted. At this point his death by this towering soldierly giant was essentially sealed and so he may as well go through with whatever he was going to say. He felt an actual tinge of wetness in his trousers. "I didn't want to hurt anyone! I swear! Except that lying, traitorous fuck who got Myrcella stabbed and me stabbed and my sister groped and all before the very eyes of the gods themselves! And no one cared!" He shouted, and the wet dribbles farther down his leg. "You didn't either!"

"Boy... You don't want an introduction to the things that keep me up at night..." The Hand's voice was a whisper he usually reserved for dying men.
"Enough." The King declared. "He is my squire and I will discipline him as I see fit." Bittersteel seemed to take his time sitting, while Daemon looked at Richard, awaiting his bodyguard's defense.

Would you feel so heroic when my wife is murdered in her bed and I ask you how the assassin acquired your nephew's papers granting him entry into her chambers?" Richard bristles at this attack on his character, but keeps it to himself. This was Bittersteel. You didn't fuck around with Bittersteel. He wished the boy had kept the matters to themselves before dragging in the king so soon, but he'd talk to the boy and see how things fell. Mayaps they were even worse than what he had said. Still, he laid out his defense carefully, not knowing the full story. He put a hand on his nephews shoulders "It will be alright Nyles." Then to Bittersteel" I have no command over the kings squire, yet I did not discourage him from pursuing information on the actions of these false septons. You call the "murder" of a businessman, I would say is justice put forward onto a rapist. He defended that poor girl, and did his duty. I have no knowledge of these "papers" you are referring to. He wanted to help, and while I would not encourage him to go forward without help, I cannot fault him for trying to put wrongs to right. There is no need to terrify my nephew." (Persuasion 52 to chilllll)

(Success) "You're very fortunate that incompetence is not against the oaths you swore, Blackfort."
"Enough! Richard, I promised you a day to sort this out. Tomorrow, you will take your nephew, a few volunteers you trust, and bring this man Blue Eyes to justice. Hightower will lend you some of his most trusted watchmen should you need them."

Richard bowed his head to the King "As you say, your Grace."
