"It is," she agreed, not elaborating either. "We really ought to be off. Are you coming with us?" she inquired.

"Yes, my lady. I will fetch a mount immediately." Willem replied blandly. He then hurried off to do so.

Dacey nodded and waited for him to rejoin them. Then, she gave the signal to ride out.

Morning of the 28th
Alan looked up at the battlements as he finally arrived at the giant castle. He looked to the merchants he had been traveling with, and whose names he had managed to instantly forget about sighting the first glimpse of the walls from miles and miles away. Even the East had nothing to quite match the sheer vastness of Harrenhal, and even in its decay and ruin it was a sight like little else in the known world. When he arrives at the gate, he speaks in his quiet voice to the gate guards. "Alan of Maidenpool here," he said haltingly, the Westerosi tongue uneasy on his lips after all these years away, "I heard there was a need for a steward." He stroked his hairless chin and felt his nerves overcoming him. He'd heard these Blackforts were some sort of beasts of war, better suited to conquest than ruling.

After a fairly long while, since Harrenhal was so big, the man was allowed to enter, waiting inside the courtyard was Lady Saesha, wrapped in a soft fur to keep off the cold.
"Welcome to Harrenhal, Alan of Maidenpool, I am Lady Saesha, where did you hear that we were in need of a steward? Word travels fast to reach Maidenpool."

Alan ran his hands through his hair. It was early for jesting. He'd have thought the fact the place resembled a disaster area would imply someone of a high quality of learning would be needed to set things right. "I had...heard," he said softly, "in King's Landing. My family are merchants, and the last ones to come said that the old steward had some..accident, or is ill," he said. "I have wanted totem Harrenhal back into a utopia for many years. This," he waved his hands about, "is far too grand to lay in ruin."
