Belric was quick to react, moving to protect Ser Bruce, incase his uncle's intentions were lethal. Belric swung his gauntleted fist at Ser Simon's head, attempting to level the knight flat on his ass. He cared little for what brain damage he may potentially cause. (Unarmed: 20) The old knight was quicker than he looked, releasing his nephew, catching Belric's gauntleted fist, and using the younger man's momentum against him. He flipped the new Lord of Harrenhal, over onto his back with a deafening clang of armor on hard stone floor that knocked the wind out of him and may have cracked a rib. (Belric takes a medium wound, for -10) The old knight's hand rested on one of his swords, but he did not draw steel, raising the other hand to indicate that his men keep their own weapons sheathed. Ser Bruce was still in shock, and suddenly doubled over and emptied what little he had in his stomach on the holy ground. "Now that we are all on the same page," Ser Simon said, apparently completely composed now, offering Belric a hand up. "Let us discuss the dispensing of justice."

Belric stood on his own, refusing the knights help in exchange for the sharp pain in his side. Fighting to catch his breath, Belric held up a hand telling his men to stand down before responding. "Tell me Whent... What justice could you possibly see happening here today?"

"A vassal slaying his liege lord is a capital offense, treason, the sentence always the same," Ser Simon replied, as if it were obvious. "As far as I am aware, the punishment for a knight following the orders of his liege, does not carry a sentence as black and white. Will you make me account for the decisions of a dead woman, one I was bound by oath to obey? Will you trust this traitor at your side, a man you know may put a blade in your back at the dinner table if he disagrees with the way you run you house?"

Symon coughs from somewhere in the back, but it sounds like a yes is trying to be hid somewhere in that cough as well. Killing children was still killing children, punishment should be made available regardless if it was orders or not.

Now it was explained, Saesha could see both sides. She did not like Simon's, but legally she could see no way in which he was more culpable than Ser Bruce. Simon had the law, Bruce had the morality.
"Ser's I believe I am correct in thinking, neither of you want anymore deaths than have already occurred recently. The war, the current dispute has seen so many young lives lost as it is, regardless of the side fought on." Saesha said to them both. "As Knights, I know you are both men of the seven. I compel you both to look to them then for our solution. The people are hurting and starving and the keep cannot begin to heal whilst this is going on. Ser Simon has accused Ser Bruce of the murder of his Liege and treason, by rights that should be answered with a formal trial, in the interest of quick resolution and a testament to both of your faith, I suggest this matter be settled by a trial of combat, in full view of the Knights and the people tomorrow."

(Success. +1 Persuasion.)
"Why wait?" Simon inquired, the old wretch throwing down his gauntlet. "When we can settle this matter here and now."
Bruce took the gauntlet up, apparently having composed himself. "Flowstone Yard. We already have our men with us to serve witness."

"Then please tell your men, that upon it's conclusion, this mess will be dealt with, both sieges will stop, the granaries will be open and no retaliation will be sought." Saesha requested, glancing at her husband.

"Your prides be damned, if neither of you can see the truth of your crimes then the gods can deal with it. Let it be done." Belric nodded his approval to Saesha, proud of his wife's logical solution.
Belric walked over to Hoster, speaking quietly only to him. "Two silvers on the old man, hes got the strength of ten men." Belric nursed the wound on his side.

Each knight sent a member of their escort back to their respective towers, with news of the duel and the terms.
(Curse of Harrenhal Roll: Heads)
They both arrive without incident to pass on their messages.
Ser Simon and Ser Bruce both make peace with their gods in the sept, Bruce lighting a candle to the Warrion and Simon to the Stranger. Then they set out for Flowstone Yard, both men seeming to know this could be their last time making this trek.
(Alright everyone can post in Flowstone Yard to observe the duel.)

Hoster told Belric, spitting on the "hallowed" ground, he did not give a single fuck if that was a sept. This whole affair had left him in a foul mood, but Belric's comment had helped lighten him up a bit. Nothing like some good ol' gambling. "Three on da young'st."
