Percival reaches out with his hand and slaps the man across his face. "Calm down and get a hold of yourself." He then tried to deduce who this insane man was. It was probably a member of the Redfort family he had not met yet. He looked he would fit in well with the rest of those idiots.

The strange man bit one of Percival's fingers and retreated to the opposite wall with a hiss, crouching down and gnawing on one of the dead rats. He was in fool's motley, or the shreds that remained of fool's motley, stained with blood and feces.
"One of you at a time! I can't understand a word when you talk all at once!" he screamed, tossing the dead rat at the hole.

Percival picked up the dead rat, and started feeding it to Belric. Then the Maester did the best he could to make sure the man did not infect his hand. Percival asked, "Are you a fool?" Then a moment passed. In that moment Percival had an opportunity to grow. To become a better person. He could comfort this insane man. He could use all his will, and knowledge to reforge this man into a human again. Percival knew he was standing on a cliff ledge, and all he had to do is leap off and fly. Then instead of doing any of those things, Percival smirked and asked, "Do you know any good jokes?" Then he snorted like he had just told one.

"Am I a fool?" the strange man echoed, as if it were the greatest philosophical riddle of all time. "What makes a fool? Is it the motley? Does armor make a knight? Does a chain make a maester? Does nameday garb make a whore? In here, I am a fool. Everything before the dark seems a dream."
"Shutup! I'm having a conversation!" he screamed at the nearest wall, before turning back to Percival with an apologetic smile. "So hard to teach masonry manners. Now where were we? A joke!"
"How much grain does it take to kill a peasant?"

Percival shakes his head. "It is no good. I have heard that one before. It takes no grain to starve a peasant. If that is your best joke no wonder you were bricked up down here." He shook his head dismissively. "Do you know a fresher joke?"

"None!" the man replied, as if he had not heard Percival, before letting out a cackling laugh that descended into a coughing fit. "What did the leper say to the whore?"

Percival shuddered, "I do not know, and I really would prefer living the rest of my life with out that knowledge. Though since you are clearly more insane than I." He waved his hand as if giving the fool permission to go on and speak.

"Keep the tip!" the odd man announced, before cackling again, this time the coughing fit that followed causing him to spit some black bile.

Percival decided that he was done with this man for now. He walked away and taking out some items from his bag of healing supplies he begins to train the rat into fetching metal items. He took out three items from his bag, and made sure one was metal. He would reward the rat every time it fetched the correct instrument. Once his rat had this down, he would think about releasing it out of the cell.

Qhorin descends to the dungeons, a lit torch in his hands and one of his masons with him. His goal was to explore the lower portions of the towers, and locate the foundation stones of them. While not helpful much to him, it was good to start looking at the foundations of such things, get a real feel for how the towers were structurally. Bottom to top he had to know them.

The man behind the hidden wall began to sing again. Qhorin descends to the dungeons, a lit torch in his hands and one of his masons with him. The two guardsmen in front of the single entrance to the dungeon informed the master mason that as a prisoner was currently being held (two technically) the great cell was off limits.

Qhorin nods, he's not here for the cells. He's looking for offshots from the dungeon entrance to other parts of the castle, namely underpassages connecting the towers. "How'd the maester get down here? Heard the lord just decked him." he says conversationally as he looks around.

The great cell has one entrance and one exit. There are no offshoots.
"Didn't ask. New lord said toss him in so there he is," one of the guards remarked. "Heard he's got a mouth on him. Still better than why happened to the last maester."

Berlic entered the dungeons, accompanied by three of his guard, all of whom had torches. "Take me to see the Maester." He said to one of the knights who had been charged with watching the cells.
