(I don't know where you got 'flush face' from, She's not red.)
"I expect to hear a report that the dog is dead," Saesha replied not giving up any ground, "I do not make hollow threats," she warned, not rising to the threats against her, or her guests.
She turned from the woman, utterly dismissing her.
"Please, accept my apologies," she said, looking regretful to the Ladies Frey and Lady Piper, "She was not invited here today, I understand if you wish to retire after such?" she offered, her gesture completely ruined, "At least you will not be able to say your time here was uneventful"
She tried a bit of humour to relieve the tension.

Dacey, having been cordially invited to the non-mandatory gathering, arrived at the solar dressed in a modest yet elegant black dress of fine wool, yet was notably void of any jewellery save from a small silver pendant around her neck. She cleaned up rather nicely, it seemed, given the resources and lack of wartime.
Having stepped through the doorframe, it took her about a second to notice Lady Piper's dagger, Saesha's agitated state and her cousin Aelison with one of her dogs. Then, it took her about half a second to realize she wanted nothing to do with this. "I must have the wrong room," she said with a small respectful nod, did a one-eighty, and left this mess.

Saesha was very close to screaming at this point. What was this family.

(Success. Two points awarded. Personal disposition raised.)
Having put away the expensive knife, Piper responded, "Oh, no, I should apologize... It was I who brought a weapon to this meeting."
She took a seat, with her former niece holding her hand. Visenya poured drinks for everyone. "Well... That was interesting. Five years living under siege and our first hint of excitement comes from a bit of poor etiquette. Such are the lives of highborn ladies."

As she put away the knife, Saesha tried to see if it resembled the one she'd seen in violet's possession.
Observation 53
"Well, other than the tourney I am sure this will be the most exciting event of this nature that happens," Saesha said with confidence.

The weapon appears identical, down to the length and hilt design.
"Lady Saesha..." Asked Myrcella, after sipping a drink to calm her nerves. "I have to wonder. Did you know your husband before you were wed? Many of us here know your husband personally or by reputation, but your own story is something of a mystery in the Riverlands. Was it a wartime romance? Did he save you from some vile brigand or was it something more mundane?"

Joanna Mallister, eldest daughter of Lord Joseth and his only heir, arrived at the informal luncheon. Despite the fact she was a fearsome warrior thanks to her father's uncustomary additions to her education and personal tutelage, she was also a great beauty and well versed in the refinements of court. All in all she was living proof that a woman could go through a lifetime of fighting in the thick of things and still retain some semblance of civility, in stark contrast to most of the Blackfort women. She wore a pale yellow dress and her cheeks were flushed, likely because she had sprinted up the tower in an effort not to be too terribly late. "Apologies for my tardiness, Lady Blackfort," she said, with a respectful curtsy. "Father insisted we practice in the yard for the coming events and I lost track of the hour." Simon had been the second individual in the room to draw steel, his sword out the moment Saesha had given him the command. As Aelison retreated and his lady did not order him to pursue, he returned to his post, returning the blade to its sheath. He gave Saesha a look that seemed to wordlessly inquire if she still wished him to butcher the kennel, having at least the common sense not to make the situation more awkward by asking aloud.

Violet entered just behind Joanna. "Sorry I'm late," she said, looking around at the gathered women with a friendly smile. "I had to pay my respects to another of the guests, but I'm here now."

"No need to fret Violet, I am sure there were noble men and lords in greater need of your company than we," she replied, and turned her attention to Joanna, "Lady Mallister, good of you to come, I not not unfamiliar with how time can escape you when martial activities are being conducted," she replied, perhaps reminding the room that she had participated actively in the war herself, and would also serve as a good example of how an unconventional upbringing was not an inhibitor to being a civilised lady.
She returned to Lady Piper's question, "I had never spoken to my husband until the day of our wedding, it was arranged by my brother, but no, he never saved me from anything vile like that. Many marriages are such though, so it was not unsurprising. How did your marriage yo your husband come about?"

After greeting the newcomers, Lady Piper responded, "It was at a tourney, actually. At Riverrun. I sat in the front row and this young knight from Pinkmaiden won the joust. Then he declared me Queen of Love and Beauty in front of everyone. That was how I met my Alyn. Oh, I know now that the Blackwoods and Pipers had a long negotiation beforehand, and I would have wed him regardless of whether he won the joust. But I was only sixteen and he did win." She shrugged and laughed. "It sounds dreadfully silly, saying it aloud."

"It's not silly," Violet declared with the passion of romantic youth as the brief tale swept her up. "It's wonderfully romantic! Oh, I can see it now, how his eyes fell upon you and there was no other woman in the world. Your favour granted him the victory, my lady, I know it."
Her eyes shone with appreciation and she thought how wonderful it would be if she and Lord Lucamore had met in such circumstances.

"What about the favours of all the other young women who's men did not win?" Saesha asked, not having a tomantic bone in her body, "it is a lovely story, it almost sounds as if there should be a song for it, Lady Piper, better to know how happy you have been sin e then too."

Visenya Frey laughed while covering her mouth. "It's all a bit preposterous though, isn't it? Not even a real mating ritual. Undeniably, some of us might be great beauties, but in the end, it usually comes down to coin and whether we can pop out brats in a timely fashion. Sometimes, we're just glorified hostages. Some of us might get lucky and squeeze in a few good years of living before the auction, but still..."

Violet was genuinely shocked by Visenya's comments. There was some truth in them, she supposed, yet it was still a harsh view of the world.
"Marriage is the gods-ordained duty of all men and women not sworn to vows of celibacy," she said, her training at the septas' hands still holding sway over her in its way, despite her decision to choose marriage over holy orders. And besides, a tourney is wonderfully excited." She paused, then said, "It is to me, anyway, because I haven't seen one yet."

"Well Visenya is right, there is a reason alliances are sealed with marriages, in a way it is an exchange to prevent people from breaking those alliances, or in my own case, as a reward for good service, unless your husband values your opinion and contributions, women are just good looking baby trebuchets." She smiled at Violet, "What about the duty of people who vowed to take vows of celibacy? What should they do?"
