The Tower of Ghosts is one of Harrenhal's major towers. Its original name was lost with the death of Harren the Black and his sons in the burning of Harrenhal during Aegon's Conquest. It has since been named the Tower of Ghosts. It is the most ruined of the towers of Harrenhal.
In front of the tower lies a ruined sept that has not been used in three hundred years. Close to the tower is a postern gate.

////////////////////////// 2nd moon, 24th day
Qhorin stamps his way through the ruined tower, his footsteps echoing in the space. He examined the wall critically, before marking something and moving on. He was determining costs to repair the tower, as well as any use that could be given by it. Not much, honestly. But it had a massive space that could be used.
His men were moving through the place, mapping it out. These towers didn't fucking match, unlike every other castle, so he'd just see bout getting a good map of the place.
(Civil engineering 81, fortifications 75 for repairs.)

Violet was still trying to get her head around the huge corridors and towers of Harrenhal. By chance she found herself heading into the Tower of Ghosts and a whim took her up to the battlements. Spotting Qhorin, she stopped to say hello.
"Greetings, Master Qhorin. I see I am not the first to come to this place. How goes your work?"

Yoren had decided to check out the newest part of harrenhal to get worked on, intrigued to see all the construction. He spotted violet and the man in charge, presumably the mason, as he approached.
"Hey there..." He said with a friendly nod, smiling as he approached the two, "You come to see the tower as well, Lady Violet?" he asked with a bow of his head.

"Yes. I want to explore the whole castle as it becomes safe," she explained. "Harrenhal probably has many secrets yet to be discovered. I have never really been around building works. I won't pretend to understand them, but it's fun to think about what the castle will look like when the rooms are set to rights."

"Should be a thing of beauty..." Yoren said as he looked up the towers height, even with it not restored, the structure itself was still massive. "It makes you wonder, doesn't it? What it used to look like, before the dragons burned it down..." He said, wishing he'd been here so long ago to have painted it, so others could know.

"Yes. I'm hoping to get my room decorated more brightly. The walls are so dingy." She sighed. "Harrenhal will never be a pretty castle, but it will always be impressive. And I think it can be made very comfortable, if the effort is made. Belric and Saesha will be able to hold feasts here in time."

Yoren couldn't help but wince a bit at the word feast, remembering the ghastly sight of the last feast hosted in this place. He quickly brushed it off however, giving another look at the towers top.
"I look forward to this tower when its done. It'll make a good place to draw from..." Yoren said as he thought what he'd do once this was over.

Her eyes widened slightly. "You draw, ser? I would like to see one of your drawings, if I may. I enjoy looking at well-drawn pictures."
That was all the time she'd spent at the motherhouse, she knew. They'd had a small library of religious texts, some of which had been gorgeously illustrated, even, occasionally, in coloured inks. But there was only so many times a girl could look at a prayer book, or The Seven Pointed Star.

Qhorin lowered his head at the lady as she approached "Lady Violet" he said correctly "It is proceeding. We're just checking out this place to estimate how much it would take to make it serviceable. Looks like a fair amount at this point." Yorens approach Qhorin merely watched, as he did not know the man.

The scale of the structure and severity of the damage was too much for even the skilled mason to comprehend. He did not even know where he would begin with a reconstruction effort. It was also difficult to properly map out a tower that he could not safely explore the innards of. He made a few notations and measurements, as well as some preliminary sketches, but feared they would be of little use.

"I will not pretend to have any knowledge of the subject but I am sure you know your business. I suppose we shall all have to grow used to building work being carried out as we get on with our lives. But I look forward to seeing what you can do here."

"Not as much as I'd like" said the man pessimisticly. "This is the first tower I've looked at, and I don't have many creative ideas for it. It's a wreck, plain and simple. Maybe I can do more with the others, but this one was hit the hardest, and never been refurbished."

Violet thought for a moment. "So why are you looking at this one first, if the others are in better shape already?"

"Life can only get better from here" said the mason deadpan. "But for now I'm just looking, seeing how the towers stand. Will take thousands to get this place to what it was, or even to get use out of the towers.
