"We can stay for a meal, and then we have to be going." Belric said flatly. "We have been gone too long as it is, you can rest when we are home."

"Of course. I don't wish to delay our return home longer than I must. It will be good to be home. Our visit to Riverrun achieved little. Tristan was pleasant but even he was not what I hoped he would be."
She thought of Yseult, whose injuries were the price of their visit, and it felt monstrously unfair that the poor girl had been made to suffer.

Belric finished bridling his horse, tightening the cheek strap so it hung comfortably around the jaw.
"We are still alive, and there is still peace. It couldn't have all been for nothing." He replied, yanking the bridle strap one last time to make sure it was secure. "I'm glad you didn't grow attached to the little fish, I've made other arrangements for you.

Violet stiffened in surprise. She had half expected him to reproach her for failing to charm Tristan sufficiently. That he might have other ideas in mind so soon after their departure was something she had definitely not expected.
"You have? I thought you were dead set on me catching a fish."

He stopped what he was doing, and turned around to face his sister. "You are to marry Lord Roote," Belric said directly. He watched her reaction with curiosity.

She simply looked at him for a moment as the news settled in. His bluntness didn't surprise her, and the announcement, though unexpected, was not displeasing. But she was still a young girl, with a girl's dreams of romance.
"Did...did he seem pleased? Is this a purely political match...or..." She hesitated, swallowed. "Does Lord Roote want me for myself, too?"

"I cannot speak for Lucamore's motives, though this marriage would not be happening if it were not politically advantageous. But he was not displeased, and had no arguments when propositioned."

"Oh." She fell silent for a moment as her emotions whirled around in her head. Marriage to an eligible nobleman she liked was her deepest desire and she did quite like Lord Roote, but she hadn't been ready to have it sprung on her just like that, so she was a little dazed.
"But...I suppose there's no time for me to speak to him now? He's going to Riverrun now, isn't he? I would like to pay a visit to Harroway's Town at the earliest opportunity. I must get to know my future husband before we are married."

"You will see him when he comes to Harrenhal for the tourney. It would be inappropriate for you to stay with him before the wedding, and it would be inapropriate for you to assault him now after he just agreed to the betrothal." Belric looked at her sternly. "Allow him to call upon you if he so chooses. Otherwise, show some grace."

She laughed. "I'm not going to behave like some commoner, truly. I merely wish to be assured of my lord's...esteem for me. Besides, I had thought to go to Harroway's Town anyway, as I think I told you before. I've friends in the town. Why couldn't I stay with one of them, or in an inn. I shouldn't think that would be improper." She paused. "You know perfectly well I would never deliberately do anything at all unladylike."

Belric waved his hand dismissively, returning his attention to his horse. "Do what you want with your friends. But leave Lord Roote alone until he calls for you. I don't want him to find a reason to question his commitment to this alliance."

Violet realised that she was never going to understand her brother's ways, and probably not most other men either. They were a strange breed, full of ideas incomprehensible to her.
"As you wish," she said, before walking away.
Yet she was a little relieved that she was not to be married off immediately. She would have time to prepare, at least. And no doubt Belric would find other things to occupy his mind soon enough, and that might be her chance to improve her own situation.

Yseult busys herself setting up a meal in Lord Belric and Lady Saesha's area of the camp for them and Lady Violet. The food is typical camp fare, but shes managed to scrounge up some soft cheese from some place and there is unleavened bread. The bread is still warm from being cooked. She would then go find the trio to let them know food is ready.

"I thought that went well, considering his daughter was just raped." Belric said, his tone shifting into something more serious. Saesha looked at him with clear disapproval and would have said more, but felt for the moment it was pointless. she sighed and left the tent. She later returned to eat the food prepared by Yseult, thanking the woman for the food. "How are you feeling?"

Yesult gives a saddened smile as she serves Saesha, putting indicated things on her plate and nudging closer prefered dishes so they are within easy reach, while disliked things are across the table furthest from her. 'I have felt better M'Lady.. Maester Harold assures me I should heal with no complications and that although it looks and feels bad, there is no severe physical damage that will have any lasting effect.'
