Violet smiled sweetly and said "You do not strike me as the kind of man to die easily, my lord. Your years have surely given you a level of experience that serves a man well in this world."

(You rolled 100. +2 Charm. House Blackfort permanently gains 1 disposition level with House Bracken, meaning the lowest they can now drop to is Detest.)
"But are legends not full of such men led astray by a charming young woman with devilish intentions?" he asked, with another laugh in spite of himself, feeling a decade younger already. "I shall have to be on my guard around you Blackforts."

Violet laughed as well. "Don't worry, my lord, I seek only your friendship and I promise that I have not evil intentions towards you. I'm sure you have met many women far more conniving than I. I don;t want to turn into a scheming courtly lady, truly."

"That is what they all say, at first," he countered, though far from unkindly. "There are few things in this world more dangerous than good intentions."

"I will take your word for it," she replied. "But I should have thought a sword would be more dangerous than anything."
After a brief pause to sip her drink, she said "I hope I may look forward to furthering the bonds of a possible friendship between our houses."

"You must be knew to lordship if you still believe the sword is the worst you have to fear," Lord Harys remarked, tone indicating this was far from the truth.
"I expect you shall. In these strange times, allies must band together. The war might be over, but it is far from forgotten."

"I had no part in the war, but I'm surrounded by men and women who fought. I shall not forget, though I hope very much that I may never see its like again. I have been sheltered in comparison to my kin and doubtless they have seen many things that I could not even dream of. I thank the gods I have been spared most unpleasant sights.."
As she spoke, she was thinking of the horrors she had seen at Harrenhal. But she would not make Belric's mistake of speaking of the evil doings. Those at least would be best forgotten, if it could be done.

"War leaves few innocents, so for their sake and your own I do hope the worst had passed," Harys replied solemnly, as if it were a prayer. "But Stones Hedge will be ready, as always, when the gods turn a deaf ear to that plea."

Violet smiled politely. "I am very glad to hear it. But I am sure I have taken up enough of your time, my lord."

"Or not enough," Lord Harys countered in pithy reply.

Belric drank, and he drank, and he drank some more... He took a break from drinking, to eat an unhealthy amount of stew, before once again returning to his drink. Belric's face split into a droopy eyed grin as he turned to Yoren, who had done well to stay by his Lord's side. "If I just started hittin' people... You'd have to too." He said, struggling not to slur his words. Raising his mug, Belric gave Yoren a look of drunken arrogance. "You know that, right?" Yoren looked up from his heated tea and smiled to Belric, "Wouldn't miss it, my lord..." he said as he took another sip, "This stuff is really good, belric. You should give it a try." He said innocently, oblivious to the woman and her attempts at flirting with him. You could lead a dumb horse to water, but you couldn't fault it for being more interested in a leaf.

Belric's grin grew wider. Faithful Yoren, what he lacked in wit, he made up for in strength. Belric, however, was not a particularly bright light either. Perhaps this is how he and Yoren built a connection, or it was because they were both exceptionally good at killing. Nevertheless, Belric would not have traded his sworn knight's simplicity for any weight in gold. The man could see through the bullshit, past the lies and games of men who thought themselves brilliant. In the end, what did intelligence matter anyways? He saw no point in any of it, if you could not fight to save your own life of the lives of those you care about.
"Wha' is it?" asked Belric, taking the tea from Yoren. He gave it a sniff, wrinkling his nose like it was foul. "If it's not liquor or night shade, I don't want it."

It's so good when the weathers cold like this..." Yoren said as he let out a contented sigh after drinking a mouthful, a bit of steam coming from him as he set down the goblet and pulled out some more coin, "I'll take another, and one for my lord, please." he said, enjoying the simple beverages and having a lack of knowledge when it came to drinks and food of questionable qualities.
