In the middle of the wide Red Fork, near where it intersects with the Blue Fork, is a small sparsely wooded islet created from the buildup of silt and the red mud from which its name derives. Is has been favored over the years by smugglers, as it sits at the intersection of the lands of Roote, Mandrake, and Bracken. A collection of sandbars serves as an invisible ford from the bank to the islet, allowing horses to reach the small landmass.

"I need a piss," Tim announced to the others. "Back in a while - I'll hunt us some dinner when I'm done."
He scrambled out of the boat, grabbed his weapons and headed into the wooded area. After a long piss, he laced himself up and looked around the area for some game, whilst keeping an eye out for any interesting landmarks or oddities.

It takes less than two dozen steps before Tim reaches the other side of the islet. The rest of the group can actually hear him piss. As such, there are no interesting landmarks, other than the eight trees on the tiny landmass. There is literally enough room for a boat, a camp, and a handful of horses.

"Those fuckers..." Pete barked to himself while gathering the wood needed for a fire pit. "Next time I see that Alyn I'll smash his face, and break his toes. Fucking bastard. And the fucking Dony, I've got something for the kids." He grabbed a particularly thick three branch and started beating on the ground, realeading his frustration at the death of another one of the crew's veteran.
When he was tired of acting like a chimp, he threw the branch aside and settled beside the soon to be lit fire pit.
"I just hope that Harl and Vex get here soon." He looked at Barley, wishing for some reassurance that his two longest term companions would come. "Then we can get back to the farm and burn it to the ground, ain't it, boss?"

Tim turned around to see Tim hitting a branch on the ground and decided he didn't want to get in the way of the pyromaniac's temper tantrum. So, since they were on such a small islet and there was nowhere he could scout, he decided instead to look for dinner. So he searched for fish, game and edible plants.

The islet wasn’t large enough to support any game and any fowl in the area had taken flight after Pete’s commotion. Tim’s attempts at dishing went no better, the line getting tangled in the debris that had built up along the sandbars. He does manage to hook a leather boot. He would hardly be the first hungry man to boil his boot leather and call it a meal.

Tim walked back to the others.
"I'm gonna take a look around, see if there's anythin' worth findin' around 'ere. I'll come back if I find somethin' I can't 'andle by myself. This reminds me o'-" He cut himself off abruptly, remembering that he wouldn't find anything if he spent time telling another of his tales.
Tim picked up his bow, arrows and spear. He used the sandbars to walk over to the bank and then he began looking around. He was willing to walk a while if needed, in order to discover something of interest.

Barley looked at Pete and nodded, “we will head buck o that farm when everyone is together and we can make an informed approach. Harlan and Vex are smart, I am sure they will come to the same decision we did, that given the days events we should regroup before deciding what to do.”
She looked over at Tim “that’s a good idea, I’ll look for some things to eat too.”
With that, Barley got up and headed into the woods to forage for berries or some such shit.

It’s dark and the waning gibbous in the night sky leaves Tim in pitch blackness before long. If he wanders too far from camp without a torch, it is likely he will not be able to find his way back to camp.
Barley finds a single bush of tart berries near the shoreline, but with a meager harvest, providing barely enough fruit to satisfy a single individual, let alone a band of brigands.

A life of crime had made Tim the kind of man who expected swift gratification and lacked patience. So he was not best pleased by the failure of his scouting expedition. By the time he reached the rest of the group again, he had come to a decision.
"I think we should go back to the farm," he said. "I'll wager the others will forget about us, otherwise, and run off with the bloody loot if there's any to be found. If they survive, o' course. But I doubt they'll be joinin' us 'ere, either way. We'll die o' 'unger or boredom. I 'ave to say, if it were me, I wouldn't come back for us."

Pete thought about Tim's proposal, maybe Harlan and Vex had met with the two buggers, raided the farm and left him behind with the liar and the Bowman. A haunting concept, in his mind. At least Barley was here and that gave him comfort. Still, he started feeling a little anxious about the idea of being abandoned.
"What if we go back there and they come here? Then it will be this all over again." He said, trying to not give up to despair. "They are coming, I'm sure of that."
He wasn't sure of that.
"If we go back, can I stab Alyn on the throat?" He grinned and looked for Barley for validation. Since she wasn't there, he started panicking inside.

Tim frowned. "Whatever's between you an' Alyn is your own problem. Stab him if you like."
He glanced around the island and fished around in his pouch, hoping to find flint and tinder so he would have light on the way back to the farm.
"The others 'ave 'orses. It will be easier for us to find them cos 'orses can't 'ide. 'Sides, we might meet 'em on the way. It's got to be better than doin' nothin'. Come if you want, or say. But I'm goin'."

Pete's twitched a little before making the decision.
"Aight..." Pete said, grabbing his stuff from the place he had left it. Did this make him look weak? If it did hed just have to punch one of the women in the face face to remind them he was not.

"Let's go, Tim said. "Barley, Daven, I'm out of 'ere. Come or stay as you please."
And with that, he started walking across the sandbars and across to the bank, to make the journey back to the farm.

"Good luck" Barley said and set about making up a bit of a camp for the night. "if any of you live, I'll wait here for the night in case you need patching up, feel free to leave your stuff, I can look after it," Barley said reasonably with a smile.
