"Those? Ah, they're made for animals, dead ones mostly. Easy enough to cut up meat that is just sitting on a table, once you know where to cut and how hard. Could show you how even, if it weren't for my chains. But against'a man with a sword, well a knife ain't much good. Learned that the hard way, as you can see." Lucas said, letting his face fall a bit and taking another sip of his beer.

"Aye, can see that." Tim glanced at the knight and wondered why the man was so willing to let him chat to the prisoner. "Don't think me mate would let me near no butcher's blades, any'ow. Cut me own finger off, most like." He grinned.

"Your mate sounds like a right prick. You're your own man, ain't you?" Lucas commented, digging in to his food.

Harlan showed no intention of leaving his own room. “You and Warren seem to ‘ave a good thing goin ‘ere. I’m sure he even trust you nuff to let you come and go as you please. How do you get in and out of the Tavern without being noticed?”

I 'ope yer get t' die quickly." He excused himself from Lucas, wondering again about the possibility of somehow claiming the reward for himself. It wouldn't be easy to get the prisoner away from the knight, but he and the gang could use the coin the prisoner would bring. It had to be a substantial bounty for the man to be brought in alive.

Lucas returned to his food, chewing over it slowly since he figured it might be some time before he got to eat anything tasty again.

Logan and Warren use it... for smuggling..." (4 points awarded to Harlan's surprisingly measly Persuasion skill. Seriously, wasn't he a professional thespian before this IN ADDITION to looking like Heath Ledger?)

“What is it that they are smuggling?” Harlan asked softly, as if it was just curious pillow talk.

“Smart girl,” he said, rubbing her back comfortingly. He waited for a while, letting Gwyn fall off into sleep before getting out of bed. With a swift hand, Harlan tried to steal back his fifteen silver pieces, and sneak out of the room unnoticed.

Stealing from a drugged and comatose woman hardly required the skills of a master catpurse. He manages to get his coins back and leave the sleeping woman undisturbed as he left...though she could probably sleep through a dragon attack in her current state.

Harlan looked back at Gwyn, admiring the shape of her body outlined in the dark one last time before walking out and closing the door behind him. "Noble women..." he said, under his breath. "Always thinkin' their cunnies are worth a steer's weight in gold."
He ventured back down to the room, walking with a little stride in his step. It may have just been an act, but Harlan was a consummate showman. He found Tim chatting with the Dicers, their prisoner, and Lucas. Nonchalantly he pulled up his own chair, and invited himself to the table.
"I 'ope these fine gentlemen didn't get you gamblin' again, Tim." Harlan said sarcastically, giving his companion a friendly pat on the back. "I'll not be buying you 'nuther shirt if they do."

Tim grinned foolishly. "I told 'em I ain't got no money fer dicin'," he said. "Seems like I ain't such a fool as yer think. And less o' one than this feller." He indicated the chained Lucas.

"He said you were the one with the coin," Dicer spoke up, having been quiet while Tim and his charge chatted. "So how about it, friend, you got the stones as well to throw some bones?"

"You're no fool, Tim. If you were you wouldn't be following me around." Harlan said, finishing his statement with a chuckle.
"No, I'm no gamblin' man," affirmed Harlan to Dicer. "I've never been one for luck." He reached across the table and offered a hand in greeting. "The name's Bale."
