"It's my experience that luck is simply believing you're lucky." The gambling knight took a sip of his drink, before offering his hand in turn. "Ser Zachry Dicer. Well met."

"How have your travels been?" Harlan asked in a polite manor. "Good fortune on the road I hope."

"I picked up a bit of baggage along the way, but the road has been fortunate enough," he replied, jangling the manacles a bit that connected to Lucas. "We'll see if the gamble pays off."

"Some gamble, picking the easiest bounty north of the Blackwater." Lucas responded, finishing up his food and pushing the plate away.

Dicer Lucas's head against the heavy wooden table hard enough that he spit blood and a few teeth. "Don't sell yourself short there," he said genially, turning back to Harlan. "That's the Butcher of Brindlewood there."

Lucas made sure to spit his teeth out in the direction of Dicer. Then he let his blood dribble from his mouth onto the table. He looked down at it and back at Dicer.
"Would wipe my mouth all proper like, if I had a hand to do it with." He told the group. "Wouldn't want any of you thinking they didn't teach us manners in Brindlewood."

Harlan grimaced, disgusted by the sight of blood. “Looks like you’ve got yer ‘ands full. Excuse me for a minute, I’ve still never gotten use too the sight o’ blood.” Harlan stood up from his seat, and patted Tim on the shoulder. “Come grab sum fresh air with me, would you?”

Harlan walked outside, feigning a bout of nausea. Once they were out of earshot from the inn, Harlan turned to his companion, "There is a secret entrance into the tavern, a smuggling door through the stables. We can use it to sac this place with minimal effort, even sneak it at night if we wanted." Harlan sounded somewhat proud of himself for what he had discovered. "I say we leave now, forego staying in the tavern tonight, and regroup with the rest of the gang."

"Good idea," Tim said. "Doesn't seem like there's anythin' new t'learn. Could we get 'old o' lockpicks, though? Seems t'me like that chained feller might be willin' to 'elp out. And t'other one seems like 'e's no better than a wanted man 'isself. Deserter, I think. If we give 'em a cut o' t'profits, they'd probably be willin' to 'elp subdue t'others."

"I was thinking the same thing," Harlan said with a kind regard for Tim's suggestion. He had wanted to free the man in chains while they were scouting the tavern, but he'd never felt like the proper opportunity had presented itself. "We will need all the help we can get after that stunt Simon's men pulled back in the woods. "

"Aye, let's do it. If nothin' else, we can use 'em as bait t'distract the knight. 'E won't wanna lose 'is prisoner." Tim paused and asked "Was t'lass worth it?"

Harlan let slip a sly grin, “Considering she’s the one who told me of the smugglers door I’d say it was worth the 15 silver pieces. I also stole back my coin once I had finished with her, so yes... I’d say it was one of the finer tumbles I’ve had lately.”

“You’ve got it. You were great,” Harlan said with a laugh, patting Tim on the back, “What did you learn?”
