From talks in chat and on the board it seems like we are torn between Bloodgrass/Redgrass and Blackfort. Putting up a poll to vote between the two (and if the grass option wins I guess we can have a vote between blood and red.)

Just going to add my $0.02, Bloodgrass makes WAY more sense considering our families history.

Just want to throw out another random suggestion that could work with our knightly ancestor coming from any period:
House Blood. There's a book and film about a Captain Blood, after all. I should make the effort to read/watch it.

Try adding any name in front of Bloodgrass and reading the result without cringing tho

What 1 said is basically my thinking. It's a kinda cool sounding name but just looks weird after a name.
Lady Alice Bloodgrass. Eurgh.

This marriage is off to a good start.

The marriage hasn't happened yet. Feel free to walk away from this big hunkin hero, who saved the seven kingdoms single handedly. Oh wait, nevernind, I'm sure your half brother... My good friend whos crown I helped win... wouldn't be too happy to hear you refused his kingly orders. *flexes muscles, kisses biceps*
As for the house name. If it's a no on Bloodgrass, is Ravensbane too on the nose?

Blackforts winning. Also, changing your house name is kind of a spit in the face of your father/grandfather/great-grandfather and all relatives, so keeping the same one would probably make more sense. You'd be bringing honor to your family name instead of throwing it aside.

Wouldn't it make sense for the new lord's byname to become the family name?

When he has kids, maybe, but we're his siblings and other relations.

Fine, no veto, if you want to add it. I mean you're all riding his coattails as it is, so makes not difference I suppose.

I'll take Ravensbane as a byname. Blackfort is cool too, it just feels generic... But I'm a team player, so whatever you guys decided I'm fine with.
