And true to his stratagem, he scores a hearty whack on his opponent's sword arm. The other knight in turn takes a more aggressive stance, switching from merely blocking blows to using his shield as a ram. Ser Sebastian remains patient in his maneuvers, never letting a seemingly easy target or clever feint distract him from the final victory. Richard lacks the speed to overwhelm him like Fireball did, but is quick enough on his feet to avoid being pounded into the mud by that blasted shield. (Light Wound to Ser Sebastian Florent.) If the man was going to use his shield as a battering ram, then Richard would have to oblige him. He lets the man swing the shield around as he wants, but the Blackfort knew better than most that when using both hands to attack, the footwork could get sloppy. When the chance came, He'd go for the mans leg, going for a trip or just a good swing at the lower body of the Knight. This was already going better than against Fireball, and he would try to keep his momentum up.

Richard's strategy is sound, but it nearly earns him a broken nose the first time he attempts it. The Riverlander avoids the shield, but somehow, inspiration strikes him harder, and instead of tripping his opponent, he somehow springs up fast enough to land a solid blow on Florent's shoulders with his off-hand while while the Reachman is still directing his defense downward. The knight moves backwards, reconsidering his stance.
('Medium Wound' inflicted on Ser Sebastian Florent.)

Richard keeps on pressing in close, not letting the other man reconsider or readjust anything while the momentum is his. His twin blades will be merciless in taking any advantage they can get, while he keeps ever circling the Reachman. One hand focused on distracting the his swordarm, the other taking advantage of any openings.

Another long stretch. Florent returns to his defensive stance, though his shield arm is noticeably slower. Richard lands a glancing blow across his torso that wouldn't pierce leather, but it is a clear sign of the Riverman's growing dominance.
"Come on! Where's the pithy dialogue, I ask?!" Cried out Lord Reyne from the sidelines.

The knight laughed "What, am I supposed to have heartfelt dialogues during combat?" he said in jest to the watching man as he backed away and kept up his circling of Florent. Like a shark, he reflected sourly for a moment. Gods he hated water. Oh no, he was beginning a internal dialogue that could stretch into a flashback, stop it!
He moved in yet again, calling out to his opponent "Don't slow down yet, Ser, this is starting to be fun!"

While perfectly friendly outside combat, greyscale and family pride meant Sebastian Florent could afford little levity in his craft. His shield arm grew no swifter, but his wooden blade became more daring and unpredictable. Florent was no water dancer, but he had a trained elegance in his arm that caught Richard by surprise. He struck the Riverlander twice in quick succession, once above the knee, the next below the armpit. Florent returned his shield in place before the Kingsguard could exploit his lapse in defense, though Blackfort struck it with enough force to shatter a man's skull. ('Medium Wound' to Ser Richard Blackfort.)

"There we go!" Richard crows as he goes in again, "injury" be damned. He smashes merrily away at the shield, counting at least on the mans shield arm getting more and more tired at this point. Something had to break there.

Suddenly, the Reachman hurls his shield at the Riverman. The wooden object strikes him on the chin, while Florent grasps his sword in both hands. His next blows are not quick, but they are brutal. Richard finds his parries overpowered and before long, he is forced to retreat.
Ser Sebastian has clearly turned to raw force as his ally. ('Light Wound' to Richard Blackfort.)

Richard grinned behind the helm and backed away, but still kicked the shield out of the area. Two handing a sword against the river man was almost certainly a mistake, and he'd bide his time now, draw him out. Without the shield, the man didn't know the trouble he was in.

Richard lands many good blows, but whether via determination or greyscale, Sebastian gives no indication of discomfort. However, Richard feels like a cheap rug every time the Florent's sword connects with the Blackfort's gut, knocking him aside. And Sebastian has excellent aim.
It becomes clear Richard will need a decisive move to claim victory, or this match will never end. They were too evenly matched, even without the shield. What would Fireball do in this situation?
Richard saw the solution when Sebastian raised his sword too high. He might not feel the pain in his legs or just be too fucking stubborn, but either way, in a real duel, it was a mistake to leave your legs open like that. The Kingsguard immediately dropped to the ground and grappled his opponent's legs between his. Not an instant after they both dropped to the mud, Richard sprung up with his waist and, by right of fortune or skill, managed to place both his practice swords across the Reachman's throat.

Richard was breathing heavily at this point, but he still managed a smile as he held the swords to the mans throat "Do you yield?" he asks politely, wary still for any more tricks. It was customary for a man at this point to yield, but you never knew until the word was said.

"I yield, Ser! I am a Florent and my father shall pay you most handsomely if you spare my life!" Laughed the Reachman.

Richard reaches down and pulls the man up, chuckling "then I shall demand a glass of wine for your ransom Ser. I got lucky there, you almost had me. A good bout"
((Ooc: so no rolls above 90? Pity.)

(You only receive XP when your life is threatened or when sparring with Symon Rivers. And you surpassed over 90 quite a few times. If it's any consolation, I had loads of fun rolling that.)
On his feet, Sebastian removed his help and revealed the gaping maw where his nose should be. Otherwise, he would be an especially handsome man. "My wife Dany already requested you join us for a meal when your duties allow." He replaced the white nose guard he wore in polite society. "I also owe you a debt for escorting her out of that debacle in the Great Sept."

"I could not refuse such a request " says Richard with a smile "and it was all the kings guard who helped protect her. Still, it is kind of her to think of me. I will inform you of when time permits for me to be available. I fear it might be quite late, but such is duty."
(Yeah I knew that, but I thought consideration would go into how it's impossible for Richard to access Symon, and I guess I just thought it was because a admin was rolling. "Training" fights are rolled by players usually, the ones that don't count so with you putting time in and stuff I was fooled. I put myself under false pretenses I guess, got excited with potential points.) )
