(+1 Fortification)
As Valarr was oft to exaggerate, the "wall" of Harrentown was nothing more than a simple palisade, and a shoddy one at that. The stakes that were still standing were indeed rotted, though after being sacked twice in the war, it was clear that they hadn't done much to protect the town when it stood. Most sections of the barrier were little more than splinters. He could repair it easily enough, for the little good it would do.
However, of he wished to give the town a proper stone wall, as cities like Lannisport and King's Landing enjoyed, attackers would be forced to besiege it and it would provide the townsfolk great peace of mind. Qhorin judged that it could be done with considerably less expenditure as the timber from the palisade and the trench that had already been dug for it would save the effort of repeating the task for a stone wall.
(1 Gold to Repair the Palisade as a temporary fix. 40% reduction in gold and building time to build a stone wall around the town and it a Fortified Town)

Edmure looked with dismay at the state of the wall - such as it was. A rotted log palisade with gaps that any could pass through at will. If bandits were infiltrating the town they could do so with relative ease. Not to mention any wild animals that could still frequent the area.
"This needs to be repaired as soon as it can be done." he said to Qhorin.

Qhorin grunted in agreement, taking it in for a little bit. He stamps the ground, checking the earth, and idly kicks a few rotten pieces of wood before speaking "is bad, yeah. Could fix it for about what'd it take to set up a military camp. Course, setting up a real wall here would be a fair amount more. Less so with the foundation and trench already dug. Wouldn't be less than 1,800 gold, probably take 5 months optimally with what I have here." Qhorin looks at the Castellan " So just the palisade for now?"

Edmure nodded in affirmation.
"Just the palisade. A stout palisade with men patrolling will keep out the undesirables, but of course won't stand up to a concerted attack. We'll deepen the trench too and put in them caltrops and sharpened stakes."

"You get me the gold, I can get the men to work on it. Shouldn't take that long, couple days or so I imagine to get it repaired."
Qhorin pushes his hands imto the small of his back, straightening his spine "lot of good work so far. Wonder what we'll do once the lord gets back."

"I'll get you the gold." promised Edmure.
He shrugged at Qhorin's question. "Finish the quarry and the port I would imagine. Continue winkling any remaining local bandits from their lairs. After that, repairing the towers will become the main priority."

"Well work on both are proceeding. Quarry clean ups interesting, have some lumber problems with whats left over, but rest of its good. Odd that, normally..." Qhorin trails off, realizing the man was effectively a Lord, not someone to chit-chat with about work.

Edmure smiled at the mason's uncertainty.
"I'm not my brother. It may surprise you, but I am actually interested in what you do and how you do it. I guess that is an effect of two years staring at the walls of Riverrun, wondering how we can break through."
He looked again at the rotting palisade. "Let's get this thing rebuilt, to give the townspeople at least some feeling that we are acting to protect their lives and property. I'm heading back to the castle to order the funds to be delivered to you for an immediate start."

Qhorin relaxed a bit. "That's a comforting thing milord. This wall'd be the same for most o the folk in the town, know this place got its share of the war"
He squinted at the wood and knuckled his forehead "I'll gather what men can be to fix the palisade."

Edmure clapped Qhorin on the shoulder. "Good man."
He swung into the saddle of his horse. "The funds will here presently." He waved a farewell before riding off towards the castle.

19th Day, 3rd Moon
After hearing the news of her little brother's death, Violet knew she had two choices, weep herself into illness behind the dreary walls of Harrenhal, or find other ways to occupy her time. So she dressed herself in a sober gown of dark grey, took her maid and a guard and set out for Harroway's Town. She hoped the fresh air and sights of the town would cheer her a little. She was hoping the town had improved enough since Belric took command that there might be the chance of a little shopping. After all, she could hardly present herself in Harroway's Town dressed like a commoner.
So, arriving in town, she searched for the local seamstress' establishment, if such a place existed.

There were several seamstresses, but the most recommended was a woman named Sansa. She was an older widow, but still looked young enough to have suitors. Sansa was a regular sight in the castle, where she often flirted with guards while making the place more distinctly Blackfort and less Lothston.
Her business was also the closest to the main gate.

Violet headed eagerly towards the establishment. She felt a familiar thrill at the thought of buying new clothes, something that had just not happened often enough for her liking. But since she was now a betrothed woman, she felt that her small stock of clothing suited to her current rank could definitely do with some enhancements. And she would need a wedding gown too. And besides, new clothes would take her mind off other problems.
Inside Sansa's establishment, she greeted the owner with a friendly smile. "Good day. I'm Violet Blackfort, I would like to see your best fabrics, please. I would love to see some silks and velvets."

"My lady!" The woman stepped away from her spinning wheel and bowed. "You honor my business greatly with your presence!"
Violet had already met this woman a handful of times, but like all greedy, vapid nobles in this harsh world, Violet had somehow never properly introduced herself to the woman who already sewed her dresses. Alas! This cruel irony does not dawn on the young oppressor of human dignity, and so all she sees is a sweet lady ready to prick her fingers on her behalf. Yay for feudalism.
"This way, my lady. I save the best in the backroom." She produced a key, which unlocked a sturdy door, which revealed a beautiful room draped in various fabrics from across the Seven Kingdoms. "Lady Lothston actually ordered most of these, but then the war came and... Well, my husband and I decided that perhaps she didn't have as much need of fine clothes as she thought." Her tone became harsh at the end, a common occurrence in Harrentown when the Lothston name came up.
"Is it to be a wedding, my lady?"
