Dacey, who'd patiently yet stiffly sat in her saddle throughout the entire ordeal, despite her horse getting quite restless and stomping for nearly a minute, nudged the palfrey with the heel of her boot now that the 'threat' had been eliminated. She passed the snivelling Ser Valarr and rode ahead a little to look around. Not having to hear certain people in their party was naturally an added bonus. Dacey was the first to encounter their new subjects. Out of the doorway of a nearby ibn came a woman bearing a large crossbow. At her knees, her likely children carried knives in their hands. The boy had a sheathed shortsword on his back. Other similar bsights greeted Dacey as she explored. Old men dragging two handed blades. Cripples with warhammers. Some wore leather and chainmail and plate that ill fitted their thin, malnutritioned bodies.

Belric turned to Yorren, putting his arm around his friends shoulder, while walking him away from Ser Valorr's. "Take a squad of men and go on into Harrenhal ahead of us. Make sure our banners are hidden, I would prefer to keep our presence here a secret for now. The King told me Ser Whent was our man, serving under royal orders to watch over our home. He will have a sizable force with him, so don't try anything bold. Discover his intentions as well as the number of armed me he has protecting him, then report back to me." Belric looked at Yorren pointedly, "We have only just arrived and are already being deceived. I want to know whom we can trust, if anyone. Take Hoster and some of his men with you, they are easily disguised as merchants or drunken scum." Belric smiled as he said the last of his orders. He had known early on that Hoster and his men would be invaluable.
Staying near Ser Yorren, incase the knight had anything to add, Belric motioned for Ser Valarr to come closer. "Tell me more of Whent's betrayal Ser Valarr. How many swords does he have under his command?" Belric spoke as if he believed Valarr's tail, not wanting to alert the man to his skepticism.

"Ah wan' Pate, Mors, Muddy an' other three vol'teers wi' me." Hoster said, already stretching his limbs. He took a sip of his wineskin to ease the tension, as he always did before an important. "Da rest o' ye will answer ta Lord Belric an' no one else. Ah wan' eyes wide open on both ends of da town, swords an' crossbows an' o'er weapons at hand. Keep 'im safe or ye'll deal wi' me when ah'm back."
"Wha' are yer orders, big boyo?" Hoster didn't like the like the idea of being put under Yoren's command, he'd complain about it with Belric later one. For now, there were some fuckers in his new castle that he had to deal with first.

"Tell me more of Whent's betrayal Ser Valarr. How many swords does he have under his command?" Belric spoke as if he believed Valarr's tail, not wanting to alert the man to his skepticism. "Which Whent?" Ser Valarr inquired. "There's Ser Simon Whent, Knight of the Wailing Tower. Then there's Ser Bruce, Knight of Kinspyre Tower. House Whent has held those honored posts since the Lothsons were granted Harrenhal. All I know is one minute we were having a fine old time, feasting in the Hall of the Hundred Hearths, and the next Lady Lothson was in pieces and Ser Bruce holding the bloody sword. Was chaos after that. Seen no shortage of battle in my time, but nothing like the butchery in that hall, friend cutting down friend. I barely got the raven off and made it back here with my head. Were 120 knights in that hall when the feasts started. No telling how many are left now, but we still hear the fighting echo over the walls from time to time. All I know is these people depend on the grain from the keep's storehouses during the winter and there's none coming out. Men of Harrentown went in to investigate, riled up by a veteran scout, name of Jaime, smith by trade, almost 500 men and they've yet to come back."

Yoren calmed down, only giving Valaar a look of contempt as he followed his friends lead. He nodded at the orders, glad to have something to set his mind towards.
"I'll scout ahead. See what these Whent's have done. I won't do anything risky, unless I have to." He said honestly, not ruling out the possiblity of having to get his hands bloody in order to carry out his orders. "Be safe, Belric. It'll take more then some bat knights to get me." he said, hoping he came off as confident as he rode over towards Hoster.
He thought it over in his head as he gave them, "We're ditching the banners here. We'll pose as simple tradesmen, come to see if Harrenhal had better goods then the town. I and you as bodyguards for this caravan. We keep hidden for as long as we can, watch from a distance, and move in if we can't get a clear idea of what we're dealing with." He said. Despite his struggle in understanding social situations and navigating the political and intrigue landscape, Yoren did have a good head for scouting.
Hopefully, his plan would translate well, and he'd be able to get a good look at their opponents. "We'll ride out as soon as we can. It'll take a while to reach the part of Harrenhal where the great hall was.

Edmure nudged his brother arm and murmured. "How many men do we have Belric? We'll need to wait for Ser Yoren's report of course, but we're at a disadvantage as these Whents will know the streets better than we. The only advantage we might have over them if our numbers are inferior is speed and surprise. Then there's the question of the castle itself. Do they have control there as well?"

(For clarification, all the fighters you have are the firsts present and the dozen men Hoster has with him.)

Symon rides an old garron that was more interested in trying to find some ruffage then anything else. He pays as much attention to the events as he can but his thoughts keep getting interrupted at the sack of shit villagers there are left to defend the town and wonders if he could at least show them to hold a crossbow right rather then the 50 different and oh so wrong ways he notices in the windows.

Jon had lingered at the back of the troupe amongst the minstrels and other tagalongs from their journey to Harrenhal. Now he rode forth. “My Lord Blackfort,” he spoke with a low bow from his saddle. “Perhaps I may be of some assistance.” He opened his mouth as if to announce himself, but thought better of it. He spoke also to the large knight they called Yoren. “I myself am a travelling merchant, and could well lend credit to this ruse you intend.” He straightened himself in his saddle and an eye flicked to Hoster. He hoped his brother was either too stupid or too drunk to notice who he was.

"Fighting is good," Belric said to Valarr, "Take me to the granaries." After walking back to his horse, Belric pulled himself into the sattle,
"We cannot stand against one hundred and twenty men Edmure, not with swords. But if they are hungry, and tired, we may not have to." Belric rode past Edmure, stopping next to him, speaking quietly for only his brothers ears. "Control yourself brother. I only know what you yourself have heard, but we must show confidence." He nodded too Edmure, speaking to him as a brother and not in scorn.
"We should investigate the grain storages," Belric said to Saesha, aligning his horse with hers. "Securing the food is our best chance. What do you say Lady Blackfort?" He asked in earnest. If they were about to take over a castle, she had more experience than anyone.

Valarr shuffled his feet a bit, clearly not overly eager to pass on bad news or tell his new liege that something was impossible.
"The granaries and storerooms make up the ground floor of the Wailing Tower," he informed his lord, indicating the second largest of Harrenhal's five towers jutting up from the other side of the curtain wall, Kingspyre Tower the only one larger. One of the advantages of Harrenhal is that with everything so massive, directions were hardly necessary. "Beneath the Wailing Tower are cavernous vaults, which holds treasury."

Doing his supreme best to ignore Valor the Volume or whatever, Jormun looked at those gathered. "A castle like this, and a vault with treasure, will always have another way out. If the castle is occupied, we can find this other entrance and be inside without them knowing."

"The main gate is open," Valarr interjected, before correcting himself. "To be more exact, Jaime the Smith and the 500 men of Harrentown broke it open, but that is splitting hairs at this juncture."

He nodded too Edmure, speaking to him as a brother and not in scorn. Edmure thought Belric was stating the obvious, but he said nothing. According to Ser Valarr the Lickspittle, the numbers opposing them could be one hundred and twenty or less than that or even as many as 500 if Jaime the Smith had gone across to them. Clearly the Blackforts needed more numbers and it appeared that Harrentown or one of their vassals might be the place to get them. Still mounted on his horse, Edmure leant on his saddle pommel and waited.

"I would have you there as well, this situation must be treated delicately. Do what you can to learn about the conflict behind the walls." Belric looked to Hoster and Yoren, "You would do well to heed Jon's advice, his silver tongue is sharper than any of your steel swords."
