They (presumably) started walking back.

Dacey picked up a branch that looked like it could have served for the stretcher and blinked once, looking at Edmure with a blank face. Was he really asking for his recent acts of cowardice to be recounted to him? Start drama in the middle of the forest, at night, when most of them were in need of medical attention? Classic Edmure. "You ran away and cost us our horses," she deadpanned. "But we're not doing this here. We have to get back before the meat spoils." She turned back to scanning the forest floor. Edmure looked incredulous. Even now she wouldn't look him in the eye. "I ran away? I fought at Redgrass. Riverrun. I've led assaults on holdfasts in the Riverlands. Why the fuck would I run away from a bear? Even as one as big as that. I went for my horse as any knight is trained to do. Something that our uncle Richard drummed into me from the time I began squiring for him. Did you think once I was on a horse I would really hightail it back to Harrentown without you to explain to our brother that I left my sister and half-brother to be devoured by a bear just to save my own skin?" Edmure spat a wad of blood derisively into the ground and shook his head. "If you think that then you don't know me at all." Without another word he gathered up what he could in terms of the meat and did what he could to help Jormun, before beginning the walk back to Harrentown.

22nd day of the 2nd moon, 200 AC
Edmure with Willem, Qhorin and ten men ride out of Harrenhal. The landscape near the great castle is a patchwork of rolling hills, meandering streams, sunlit fields, and holdfasts, while further south near the Gods Eye, it is forested. Edmure didn't hold out much hope that they would find a sizeable reserve of stone, but he hoped Qhorin would be able to recognise any potential sites for a quarry. Maybe they would get lucky and find a old disused quarry that could be re-opened.
They turn south heading towards the forested area.

Qhorin rode a little behind the group, lazy eyes surveying the landscape. He was really just interested in if they found a natural deposit or two, but it was good to get outside the castle even for a little bit. Mounted on his trusty mule, the man idly swatted at a few flies as they rode.

Ser Willem lazily scanned the countryside as he rode near the front of the group with Edmure, looking more at the lands controlled by his kin than for potential aggressors.

As the group heads south, they come upon the site of Edmure's battle with Olaf the Devourer, carrion birds picking the dear carcass and massive bear carcass clean, at least what the wolves had left. Edmure could still see some of his dried blood in the grass.

Edmure flexed his shoulder gingerly. His wound had healed well thanks to the Maester. He didn't know if any of the others knew about the battle with Olaf the Devourer, so he said little.
"Big bears in these parts." he remarked to the rest of the party as they rode past the carcass.

Qhorin looked at the huge creature with something approaching horror. "What in seven hells killed this thing? It surely took down something with it. Bear fight? Or just a lucky hunter?" He cracks one knuckle nervously

Edmure shrugged. "Lucky hunters no doubt. See the arrow heads?" He grimaced thinking sourly of his sister's attitude towards him after the fight. "Must have been some bow to penetrate a hide like that."

"Hunters? No, that makes no sense." Willem commented with a puzzled scowl. "Why go to the trouble of hunting this beast if once successful you leave it to rot? "

"Maybe it was hunting them." suggested Edmure. "I did hear rumors of a bear terrorizing the local smallfolk back at Harrenhal."

"Group of smallfolk large enough to take down a bear of that size would surely want to put its meat to good use." Willem replied. "Something is not right here." He scanned about looking for anything out of the ordinary apart from the bear, looking far less relaxed than he had previously.

"It was a big bear. Maybe they couldn't carry all the meat." said Edmure. "Or didn't want it, because they already had enough."
He shrugged again and glanced up at the position of the sun. "Time's getting on."

"Time's getting on." "I suppose what happened shall remain a mystery to us." Willem replied. "I am just glad someone killed that brute before we got to its territory."

Edmure grunted in agreement with Willem's words. He shaded his eyes looking south towards the forest, looking for any sign of a possible place where there might be suitable stone for quarrying.
He turned to the mason. "Well Qhorin? Anything look promising to you?"
