"Is that so?" he inquired, curiously. "How so?" "You're both highly irksome and neither knows when to walk away," she replied evenly, looking to Lord Smallwood to see whether it was a response he'd expected.

She laughed. "Well, that's what they teach at the motherhouse. The poor septas would be scandalised by you, Ser Whalen. If if were a free woman perhaps I would feel differently, but you know how it is. I hope we may still be friends though." "I'm not sure who thought it wise to take advice on what a man desires from a bunch of women with vows a chastity," he quipped, seeming to enjoy her pleasant laugh. "As as I said, you are not wed yet. Best enjoy the short window of freedom you have left before the trap closes shut. Friends is all I wish to be and if you were to ask many of the young women in this room, I am certain they would tell you of the merits of my friendship. Give it some thought."

"An' tis is how ye lose yer other arm, ye dumb bastard." Hoster grumbled to himself as he reached for the small pouch. He was half expecting for it to burst into flames the moment he touched it. It was a clay marble with an eye painted on. The fool tittered and skampered off.

"I see, in that case I not trouble you further," he replies, countenance indicating he had expected little better from an upjumped commoner. "Though careful, I hear it is poor fortune to speak ill of the dead, and this place seems to already provide misfortune in spades."

She glanced around. "How many of them enjoy a...special friendship with you?" She asked the question playfully, beginning to enjoy the game despite her determination not to take it further.

"That would be telling," he replied, putting a hand on his chest as of aghast she would ask such a thing. "One benefit is that I am discrete. I would think I betrothed woman would value that above all else."

Very good!" Belric said with enthusiasm, slapping his knee excitedly. "I will look for your colors in each event. I'd not want to miss seeing a master work his craft." The compliment was delivered with enough zeal to be perceived as believable. He wondered how long he could keep up the charade however, gilding egos had never been Belric's forte. Fortunately there were only a few lords left, all of which Belric had met with recently, so their greetings were short. Lord Lucamore Roote jovially thanked his future goodbrother for hosting such lavish festivities and his wedding ceremony at week's end. Bracken made a characteristically reserved and somewhat laconic greeting, though it was friendly enough, especially considering Blackwood was in spitting distance. Even Lord Tully was the pinnacle of civility, though he had been the same at Riverrun, the picture of a gracious lord being hosted by one of his vassals. Satisfied with how the introductions had gone, Belric thought this was as good a time as any to screw it all up. He stood from his chair and spoke loudly to the room, "Thank you for coming. That will be enough court for me. I'm sure many of you are weary from travel, others eager to enjoy the festivites, so have at it. Harrenhal welcomes you all." His last statement came out more foreboding than he had intended, though he did not correct himself. He walked down from the dias and into the crowd of Lords an Ladies. He found Medgar with ease, walking directly up to him with purpose. He offered a nod, but it lacked the recognition of Tully's rank that many would have expected. "Lord Tully, I had not expected anything to free you of those walls. I'll be sure to tell the King that he should have held a tournament long ago." Belric laughed sarcastically, turning his insult into nothing more than a little bit of humor at the Lord Paramount's expense. He was sure to speak loud enough to allow those around him to hear. "I will send word to my Maester to keep a watchful eye on the rookery incase you recieve any urgent ravens. A man such as yourself understands the importants of such things, yes?" He smirked like the cocky bastard he was.

What if every woman you meet is simply intended to be another notch on your bedpost?" She gave him a sceptical look, still not sure what to make of him.

Every single guest who has been present at the wedding groaned as Belric prepared to give one of his infamous toasts, while the rest looked to the dais in confusion.
(Pausing conversations until I see how bad this is.)

Saesha could have groaned herself but was much more composed than that, while she was preaching to Bracken about letting bygones be bygones, he was bringing up an unwelcome and unfriendly past with their overlord.
"That goes for every Lord here, if any of you need to use the rookery for any correspondance, it will be our Maesters pleasure to accommodate you all," she spoke up, trying to make it seem like Belric was not pointedly picking Tully out, but turned to him, "You do house Blackfort great honour by attending our Tournament, my Lord" she turned to address the room, "as do you all, and both my husband and I wish you a successful tournament, and future prosperity, for yourselves and for all the Riverlands." She raised her cup, "to the Riverlands," she toasted.

(+2 Charm. Saesha nullifies the disposition Belric would have lost with Tully and the loyalists.)
To Medgar's credit, he outwardly showed no signs of annoyance at being slighted in front of every single one of his vassals. He actually laughed at the jest, eliciting an uncomfortable chuckling from some of the others gathered. However, anger translator and brother, Torren, looked apoplectic. He opened his mouth to deliver what likely would have been a biting reply, but Saesha spoke up before the gauntlet could be thrown down. At her words Torren seemed to decide to hold his tongue and the loyalist lords that seemed like to take offense, calmed. With a few well-placed words, the mounting tension evaporated, at least until Belric decided to give another toast.
Medgar raised his glass first to answer the toast. "To the Riverlands," he echoed, with a humble nod to Saesha at her praise. "We are the heart of this realm, so let us beat together as one. May our weakest help our strongest, our prosperous our impoverished, and our orderly our lawless." He gave a glance to Belric at the last note, the bandit problems in the God's Eye well known, as well as the slaying of one who bore the Blackfort name.

Dacey simply gave him a look of "why are you still here?" before turning her attention back to the dais, where it seemed, another pissing contest was at hand.

Lord Smallwood departed and made his way to his liege lord's side when the toast began.

"Considering nothing can come from it except an enjoyable diversion, I would say it doesn't really matter," he countered, when the tension of Belric's toast had abated. "I certainly would not mind being a notch on your own."

Belric did not balk at Medgar, nor flinch when his wife undercut his agenda. Instead, he continued to smirk, raising his glass when Tully spoke and drinking when the toast was finished.
He tipped his glass to Medgar, "You're presence here is an honor, my Lord. May we all follow by your example..." He paused and gave Tully a wink, "and by your hospitality."
