///////// 2nd day 5th moon Immediately after whatever happened in the hall was Saesha dragged Belric to their bedroom, for a quiet chat.
She stood before him and just stared at him, as if she were waiting for an explanation.

"The nerve of that cunt!" Raged Belric, reaching for the wine. He was to blind to notice whatever displeased body language Saesha was presenting. "To come into our keep, and insult our progress. To threaten our treasury while he reaps the benefits of our hard work!" It would take a miracle to pull him from the depths of this tantrum. "I'll see him in the ground before my day is through."
He stormed about, as Belric does.

"How dare he?" Saesha asked, with a surprisingly neutral tone, standing still as Belric moved around a lot, "I am fairly certain the whole room had the same question, if cast in another direction." She said calmly enough.

"Spectators be damned. When Medgar falls they will shed the weight of his rule like a dog does its winter coat. Until then, they are happy to live in apathy." Belric's rage started to subside, smothered by wine.

"Do not speak of things like that." She said, frowning, "you would do well to consider how others view you, it means everything in the world."

"Is that so?" Belric asked, returning her look of concern. He had never cared what others thought of him, a lordship changing that was unlikely. "You care for such things?"

"This is a battlefield Belric, but the winner is not one with the strongest arm, but the strongest will.you can't treat holding court like you treat an army camp. To everyone gathered there you lost that encounter, and Tully won resoundingly. You want people to follow you, strive towards the things you strive towards, but why will any of them follow someone so easily losing their control, their reserve? Why should anyone take a man who invites people into him house only to insult them as soon as they cross his threshold? I had thought you understood this? Do I care if people think me a weak fool? No, because I know it is not true, but you cannot achieve your ambitions with the whole world thinking you unworthy of them. You need yo project the image of someone that can be followed and admired."

"I didn't lose control," he said very matter of factly. "He's still alive, isn't he?"
In truth Belric understood Saesha's point. The problem was that the Maester was most likely right about him. He was stubborn, willing to break his own fists to punch down a wall before ever looking what was on the other side.
"I care for me and mine, that circle of inclusion ends at the edge of these lands. Tully is a threat to my family and to your brothers rule. He made that clear in Riverrun. I cannot kill him outright, but I show the Riverlands the rat he truly is."

"But you didn't show him for a rat," she replied, "this is what I mean by appearances being important, a truth you know is as good as a lie if you can't convince people of its fact, you only reduced yourself in the eyes of others... and this will spread... and my brothers are going to be very unhappy. They did not give you this position for you to make waves. You are doing exactly what the King ordered you to not do!" She sounded as if she herself was getting a bit agitated now.

Belric understood her meaning, there was no denying he had made an ass of himself. What he had intended had failed, the luck of the draw had been against him. Again, he found himself outclassed in wit, the sheer weight of prolapsed confrontation was enough to make him retreat. He nodded to her, and indicating there was no need for further argument. "I can restrain myself," he assured her. "By the time this tournament is over, they will hardly be talking about a little banter between Tully and I."

"Why do you think that?" She asked, sighing and moving towards him,"I only worry for you, my love, and our family."

"Because," Belric retorted, like the question need not be answered. "We are throwing a grand tournament. Song's will be sung of the champions, not of Medgar and I. There is no need to worry, my dear. By the last day, Tully will find the foundations of his loyalist alliances far less sturdy."

Saesha had meant to embrace him, to give him comfort in the arms of his loving wife, but she stopped short. "You mean to continue this?"

"I mean to show these people that there is profit to be made when aligning themselves with Harrenhal." Belric tried to calm her nerves with a smile. "I do not plan on insulting Medgar again. But he said it himself, nobody expected the progress we have made. A seaport is an undeniably valuable asset, many Lords will be interested in establishing trade deals."

"That is true. It makes sense to try and deal with the other lords, but do not butt heads with Tully... please Belric," she said, with concern, "do not undo everything we have done here, and everything my brothers have done in the kingdom." She asked, frowning a little.
