"Exactly," Saesha said, smiling, "That is why we wanted to know if you would like to be the channel through which our plans for Harrenhal and Harrentown reach the people, and get any complaints, suggestions, breaches of justice that the town feel we should deal with get to us. I am planning on making a council so we can all work towards the common purpose we have, to make the lives of the townspeople better and make Harrenhal greater still."
"Before you say anything, my husband would like to meet with you again, if you are interested in the position. It won't take up much of your time." Saesha seemed genuinely excited about what she was talking about.

"Well, I serve at the beck and call of House Blackfort, my lady. May I call upon him on the morrow? I must finish with these hinges and nails soon, so the laborers can repair the main gate more swiftly." He paused before adding, "I appreciate you not bringing your sworn shield here today."

Saesha nodded and put her hand on his arm instead of answering the last part. "I would thank you for calling on us whenever you have time, it will take a few weeks to properly get ready, there is not point starting it before then." she stood, "Forgive me for taking up too much of your time, Jaime, I look forward to seeing you again soon."

His skin was quite warm and damp to her touch, but also firm. "There is nothing to forgive, Lady Blackfort. I... Hope you will let me call upon you as well. I will need to take your measurements. For the armor, that is." If there was innuendo, there was no hint in his friendly but professional expression.

"Of course, Jaime. I look forward to seeing you tomorrow." She smiled and left.

11th day, 3rd Moon
The day following his return to harrenhal from Armistead's crossing and his treatment by maester Percival, Willem entered the forge of Jamie the Smith with his damaged armour. He scanned the premises for someone more skilled than he who might be able to repair the armour in case he should recover enough to be called on to fight as Harrenhal's champion.

He finds the smith forging picks for the quarry. When he sees the knight enter, he asks for leave to finish his current task before properly addressing the stranger. If he recognizes Ser Willem, he doesn't show it. While possessing great respect among the peasants for his experience and leadership, Jamie rarely shows interest in castle affairs outside of his duties on the council.

Ser Willem nods and stands in what he deems to be an area in which he won't be in the way of anything. As the Smith continued his task, Willem watched his work with interest, recalling his time spent in a forge in his younger days.

It is not long before the smith finishes and turns to the knight with a friendly but polite expression. "Apologies, but it is difficult to maintain the right temperature in the winter, so I might strike while I can. How may I serve you?"

"I understand. I apprenticed for a time in my youth. I would sooner wait than be the cause of someone's death because I rushed your work." Willem replied, understandingly. He then held up his dented armour for the smith to observe. "I came to see if you believe this can be repaired in a five days time."

Jaime looked over it with an expert eye, before nodding. "I can manage that. If it's Blackfort business, I can defer the costs to the treasury on your behalf, and spare you the silver."

"Yes, it's a Blackfort matter. " Willem confirmed. "Your charging the treasury is appreciated."

(Slightly edited once I realized a treasury is not a credit card. ) "Then you can expect it back in..." He held up the item and traced his fingers over the damage. "Three days, possibly two." He set it down. "How long did you apprentice, if I might dare ask?"

"Four years." Willem replied. "It was work, but it kept me fed and clothed. A parentless bastard can't hope for a better lot than that. I remember something of the trade, but I was never anything close to skilled."

"Aye, that's how my grandfather earned his craft. He was gifted though, or at least a gifted merchant. My father and uncle were the real savants of the trade though. Papa could craft a breastplate that made the sun look dull, while my uncle studied the working of Valyrian steel and dragonbone. I've learned what I can from their legacy, but I'll always feel like a novice in my own forge."
He produced a waterskin from below the counter and drank heartily from it. "I take it you found carrying arms a more profitable course shortly after."
