"How is he to lead in my stead if he does not know how I intend to lead?" He knew his brother could be opinionated, yet he was still his brother and the heir to Harrenhal.

Saesha was with child. He would not be heir for long.
"He does not need a say in it's running to do so. I imagine he will know what you decide. The council is only really there to aid you, Belric" she assured him, even if it was a bit of a lie.
"But if that is your decision. I will set up a date. As for Tully. I think you are going to have your patience tested there. We need to leave as soon as is polite."

"Edmure was aiding me long before I became Lord of Harrenhal. He will make a fine addition to the council." Belric spoke with finality.
"As for Riverrun, I would like to leave within the week. I had intended on sending my sister and Jon to our neighboring lordships as ambassadors, however with this sudden change of events I think it unwise. Violet should come with us, perhaps we can find her a strategic marriage to a Tully. Marriage between our families might do well to stifle the animosities in our houses. Jon on the other hand should go to Braavos and attain a loan from the Iron bank. I would like to offset some of our construction costs to help boost our economy."

"You want to take out a loan with the Iron Bank?" Saesha asked, looking deeply concerned, ignoring everything else he said, "Why would you take out a loan when we do not need one?"

"You don't think we need a loan?" He asked, raising an inquisitve brow. "We are living in a crumbling castle, surrounded by broken walls. We don't have a working mill, a quarry, or any economic infrastructure for that matter. If we were to ever make a bold move, it is now." Belric pulled out a ledger he had been given by Jon, it notated their current financial situation. "The city you talk of can't be built upon eight hundred gold a month. What better way to establish a good credit with the Iron Bank than now that we have collateral?

"We do not need to take a loan, we have money to slowly build up. It is the best way of assuring success. The iron bank are not people you want hanging over you, we need to secure our place before we are ever really an investable prospect. We should build the quarry and the port while we deal with the bandits, then perhaps we can think of a loan. " Saesha tried to talk him down from it, "we can discuss this in the council if you like."

Belric sat in deep thought. You could tell from the lines in his face that this was not a familiar activity for the Lord.
"With the arrival of Lord Tully's letter, I have to agree with you. There are too many pieces to this puzzle. I fear for what would fall through the cracks in our absence. However, once the port is up and running and we have returned, we will discuss this again. The Iron Bank is a powerful allie I would not ignore."

Saesha goes to investigate Belric's solar. She was not worried about him discovering her, she came in here when she wished to anyway,
When she entered she immediately went out taking approximate measurements of the place. When she did she left to go to their bedroom.

Belric, hopefully accompanied by his wife, summons the Maester to his solar. There are several things they need to discuss, the impending birth of child had been at the forefront of Belric's mind since leaving for Riverrun.
Attempting to having this go differently this time, Belric had servants bring up a humble spread and fair bit of wine. At least he would be in a good mood, regardless of wether everyone else decided to indulge. There were few things he liked more than salted meat and cheese.

Percival walked in with his medical supplies. He was prepared for another random beating. He placed his gear down and clasped his hands behind his back. He looked around at all the furniture, "Perhaps we should have the gilded furniture moved to the guest rooms. It is significantly harder to replace."

Belric did not respond to Percival's comment, though he hoped the Maester had not yet seen the Castellan chambers follow Edmure's departure.
"Please, have a seat." Belric said, motioning to the open chair. "We have a fair amount to talk about, having been absent a month. I also heard that you were left in charge of the castle for a time while my brother and sister were off settling the border dispute." He looked at Percival curiously. "I appreciate you not leveling this keep when you were given the chance."

Percival walked over to the chair and examined it closely before he sat. He made sure there was no trap or message before sitting. He even picked off several imaginary bits of filth before sitting. "This keep survived far worse catastrophes then myself." He looked significantly at Belric and smirked knowingly.

The jest did not go over Belric's head. He frowned despondently. "Indeed," was the only word he said in response.
"Shall we get on with it? I'd very much like to be elsewhere." Belric took a sip of his wine and shoved a sizable piece of dried venison down his gullet. "How is your skill with training birds? Other than ravens of course."

"I have no experience with other birds but I have found that working with all beasts that same annoying truths hold." Percival raised an eyebrow, "Do you have a desire for a hawk? Or is it something stupid?"

"As a matter of fact, yes." He replied with pleasant surprise. "I would like you and the Master of the Hunt to begin breeding hawks. Does that interest you?"
