"By uniting," said Belric very matter-of-factly. "Medgar is living off the good grace of the Lannister's, he would not survive another war. His power is completely dependent on what we give him, wether it be taxes or oaths. Aside from marching upon Riverrun, there is nothing we can do to reap justice for what has been done to Yesult. I doubt Lord Tully would do much if confronted by the accusations. However, the Riverlands are still very much divided, and with some effort we can eliminate Medgar's hold on us by banding together."

Saesha almos did a double take, for a second she'd thought she'd heard her husband suggest declaring war on Riverrun! She was glad she'd been mistaken.
"I think we should concentrate on managing our problems and get stronger, it's not only Tulky that can't survive another war, no one can." Saesha replied, not wanting to seem argumentative. Why did Belric insist on ignoring everything her brothers had said.

"You are as right as you are beautiful. And the best way to do those things are by uniting our houses." Belric conceded to wait for Lord Roote to speak before he continued to talk in depth about his intentions.

Yoren had ridden with the others as he winced a bit, rubbing his thigh as he shook his head. The wound on the back of his leg hurt, and he cursed under his breath, at the knight and all of riverrun. It seemed there was little honor to be found in the lord as well as their company, if the news yseult brought forth was true.
He never wanted to think ill will of those above his standing, but as it stood now, Yoren couldn't consider the tully's much higher then a craven cur not fit to kiss his horses hoofs. He watched Violet go to search the camp, moving to keep an eye on her and make sure she was safe, at the least.

Meanwhile, Violet, bored and frustrated because nobody would tell her what was going on, decided to go looking for Yseult. They didn't know each other very well so she wasn't sure if the girl would tell her, but it was better than just waiting. Not being sure where the girl had gone, she had to search the camp. Observation 43 She catches sight of Yseult entering the maester's tent. Having found the Maesters tent Yseult rasps 'Greetings Maester, may I please enter? Lord Roote bid me to come see you about my.. injurys..' "Yseult?" an elderly man within inquired, poking his head out of the tent like a curious bird, his bald head circled with wild tufts of white hair lending to the effect. Maester Harold's eyes widened and he ushered her in warmly. Though practically ancient, he had skillfully delivered Yseult at her birth and stitched up her father's wounds in the war with impossibly steady hands. "How are you, my dead?" he asked, affable, though his eyes contained concern as he looked her up and down. "It does not look as if life away from Lord Harroway's Town suits you terribly well."

Yseult enters and upon Maester Harold's fondly remembered tone and almost Grandfatherly presence she crumples at his feet and begins to sob like her world is breaking. The stress of the last few days catching up as she tells him between sobs what has happened and her worry for her new lord and lady, worse worry for her father, and her anger and shame over it.
As she calms enough to snivel a bit and stop crying she shakes her head a couple of times to clear it 'Apoligies Maester Harold.. Otherwise I have been enjoying the challange of my new post, but I fear Lady Seastar will not wish me to continue once my trial ends after this happened on their first diplomatic trip away from Harrenhal.'

Hearing Yseult cry, Violet waited outside the tent, taking care to stand a short distance apart. She wanted to know more about the situation but not enough to make her intrude upon a girl in distress. She hoped the maester would offer Yseult comfort.

"You are as right as you are beautiful. And the best way to do those things are by uniting our houses." Belric conceded to wait for Lord Roote to speak before he continued to talk in depth about his intentions. Lucamore listened to the newlywed bicker, muttering something under his breath to the effect of this being why he has yet to marry. When they paused, indicating they wished for his input, he let the silence hang for a long moment before clearing his throat and speaking. He chose wisely not to remark on Saesha's rebuke of his critical judgement regarding the care they had taken in ensuring the safety of his daughter, assuming it would do little to help the situation. "The reckless courage that served you so well in the war will do you little good here, Belric, admirable though it may be," Roote replied, talking to Belric as he once had when he was a subordinate rather than an equal. "Even joined, Tully has the troops to deal with us both and his marriage ties with the Freys ensure it woud be a short war."

Belric furrowed his brow, unsure as to wether Roote knew his objections were only helping to justify Belric's point. "It is for those exact reasons that we must join together. I do not intend to start a war with Tully and the Frey's outright, that would be suicide. Though, if they were to decided that either of our houses were no longer necessary, without the proper alliances we would be massacred. WE are the King's men, and it is only through us that he will find stability within the region. He is as helpless to defend us against Tully as we would be on our own. However together, with the houses that fought under black banners, we would demand respect from the Lord Paramount. Lady Mandrake and Lord Mallister will see the benefits of our allegiances and come around, but only if you and I have the courage to take this first step."

(+3 Persuasion)
"Very well, Belric, let us how Medgar the new status quo in the Riverlands," Lucamore agreed, putting his hand on his old vassal's shoulder. "It would be good to stand side by side again."
"But we must be careful and court Bracken, Mandrake, and Mallister tactfully," he said, a touch of caution in the bravado. "We have made our oaths and this skirts the line of treason. What do you see as the first step?"

The old maester looked shocked at Yseult's hysterics, having known the woman for a long time and never recalling seeing her fall apart like that. Even as a child, she was the type to skin her knee, dust herself off, and just keep playing. His concern turned to horror as she recounted her tale, leaning down beside her on the floor, despite his creaking old bones. "That is the last thing you should be concerned with after you idea," he said warmly, rubbing her back. "And apologies are the last thing you should be offering." (+1 Observation for Violet) The tent walls were not thick and violet could hear everything.

Belric could feel himself standing a little taller. After everything he had been through during his stint as Lord, this was the first sense of accomplishment he had felt thus far. He tried not to let it show.
"As tradition would dictate, we should seal this alliance between our families with a marriage. Doing so would send a clear, and perfectly legal message to Medgar. A wedding would also serve as a safe platform for us to coerce Lord Bracken, Lord Mallister, and Lady Mandrake onto our side of the battle lines. Though I fear Bracken's respect for Tully will be the hardest chain to break." Belric put his hand to his chin, scratching idly at his beard. "We must also search for a way to force Medgar's hand. If we can goat him into breaking the peace, it will help to legitimize our cause."

Yseult wipes her eyes and stands, offering Maester Harold a hand up. Unknowing that Violet has likely heard everything. 'I cleaned myself up afterwards as best as I was able but I only had a bowl and cloth.' She frowns 'I did not dare use the baths in case he came back for another go.. Might you advise me futher as to how I may care for myself.. also.. as ironic and vengeful it would be.. I do not think it is wise I bear his bastard should I prove to be with child in a moon or two.. I guess that count will be up to the gods and time will tell.. Although might that happen I should seek Fathers council first do you think?' Yesult werily sighs. The whole prospect terrifys her, she knows the chance would be slim but she is still horrified that it hapened at all, much a less the ramifications to herself and what she fears her faher may do.

"Tradition," he sighed, clearly enjoying his unwed lifestyle, but gave no argument. "I suppose it is long past time I tied the knot, gods help me. There are worse men to count as a brother, I suppose."
"Bracken did not respect him enough to keep his sword sheathed when it came time to face Tully. His forces besieged Riverrun with the rest of us. However, even if we won them all to this cause, it would still be far too even for my tastes. We would be best served courting those who fought for the reds as well. Piper and Frey are likely lost causes though and I can't see Blackwood standing side by side with Bracken unless it truly served their interests."
