Belric shrugged off Violets request. Perhaps she did not know how impolite she looked, whispering into her brothers ear in the presence of the Lord Paramount. In truth, Belric cared little for traditions. Bread and salt would not protect them now. If Medgar's intentions were lethal, then they had walked into the trap willingly. Again, Belric found himself relying on his own strength with a sword, should things take a turn for the worst.
He squeezed his wife's hand in return, not entirely sure as to her reasoning. He suspected she was worried about something, though without her telling him directly, there was little his brutish mind could do to understand the gesture.
Belric drank his wine... all of it. In a fashion very unbecoming of a Lord.

Medgar raised an eyebrow as Belric gulped down his piping hot goblet of wine, but left it unremarked. If the Lord of Harrenhal wanted to scald his throat for the sake of a buzz, the Lord Paramount of the Riverlands was not going to stop him.
"I suppose we should get the business out of the way first before we move on to lighter matters," Lord Medgar remarked, returning his barely touched win to the serving tray. "Need I teach you the words?"

Violet fought to keep her smile as Belric ignored her suggestion. The meeting with Ser Toren had made her anxious in a way she had not been before and she could only hope Belric's temper did not get the better of him. Hopefully Saesha's influence would be enough to prevent that happening.

Belric stepped forward before Medgar, and drew his father's sword. Dropping to one knee, he offered the blade that had killed Bloodraven, lowering his head before he began. "My Lord Medgar, I offer my services as they are. I will keep your counsel, shield your back, and give my life for yours if need be. I swear it by the honor of His Grace, King Daemon, under the eyes of the old gods and the new."

"And I vow that you shall always have a place by my hearth and meat and mead at my table, and pledge to ask no service of you that might bring you into dishonor. I swear it by the Old Gods and the New," Lord Megar intoned mechanically, having lost count of how many times he had uttered that oath. Ser Toren tapped the hilt of his sword vigilantly in a tempo reminiscent of a war drum as Belric drew his blade. "Arise Belric Blackfort, High Lord of the God's Eye and Lord of Harrenhal."

A beautiful, pale woman in light blue with tired eyes walked past the Blackfort family without even looking at them. Beside her was a somber man with various burn marks across his hairless face and a golden heron across his purple doublet. The lady took her place beside Lord Tully, kissed his bearded cheek, then turned her exhausted gaze towards her guests. The scarred man joined the other knights of court.

Saesha curtseyed again to the new arrival. Presuming she was Tully's wife, but would rather not say anything whilst the fealty was bring sworn.

If Toren's tapping was meant to unnerve Belric, it was doing a good job. Something seemed off about the man, though if his intentions were sinister, it remained unclear.
Belric rose, his eyes meeting Medgars. The whole situation was far too rehearsed for his liking, he fought back against the turning in his gut.
He bowed to the woman who had entered the room and taken the seat next to Lord Tully's. "M'lady," Belric said as he inclined his head.

"Well, now that we have that out of the way, rooms have been made for you in the keep," Lord Medgar replied easily. "We sup at the sixth bell. Do you hawk, Lord Belric?"

"I do not, m'lord. But I wouldn't pass up the opportunity to observe." Belric tried to ease the tension from his voice, yet he could not help but sound like a soldier.

"Nonsense, you must learn. It is one of the few bits of entertainment befitting a noble," Medgar insisted, seeming to ignore or not notice Belric's martial tone. "Sport of princes, they call it, but you and I will just have to pretend." He turned to Saesha and finally acknowledged Violet with a glance. "It is also one of the few leisure activities available to lords and ladies alike, if you two would care to accompany us."

Belric forced an appreciative smile. "Very well." he said, "I will learn." He had been pretending to be Lord long enough, a prince could hardly be any different.

"That's the spirit," Tully commended. "Then I will meet you all back here for supper. The servants will show you to your rooms if you need to freshen up after your journey."

"Yes, m'lord." Belric nodded his head respectfully, stepping away from Lord Tully. He figured it better to not ruin his progress by speaking further, and instead looked to be guided to his rooms by the servants. There would be plenty of time for Belric to make a fool out of himself before the journey was through.

The servants led them to their rooms in the Wheel Tower.
(You have free reign of the keep now. You can use the threads I added or make some new ones as long as they'd logically be in the keep. Post again here when you're ready for dinner.)
