"My sisters name inspires incidents wherever it's spoken. I hear rumours that people have fought duels over the right to simply sit next to her. I never saw it though." She looked, unimpressed with the tale, but if it was at her sister, or them men of westeros who knows? Even she wasn't sure. "Before the war I very rarely left King's Landing, but I am finding the quiet outside of a city and an army camp to be very welcoming indeed. If the Riverlands are provincial, when despite your lack of a large city you keep up with the rest of westeros so effortlessly, I cannot imagine how far ahead you would be with a city or city Port."

(Failed. No change in disposition.)
"Perhaps it is for the best. Too many vices regularly stem from city life. Crime. Casual corruption. Prostitution."
If the emphasis was directed at anyone, Alynna didn't miss a beat before moving past it. "We have our own sins, to be sure, but the countryside lends a certain air of respect for gods and men that vanishes when you crowd strangers together like rats. I would rather have a sworn knight than a city watchman any day of my life."

"Which is why we are fortunate His Grace appointed a local to replace our wayward Lady Lothston. As a Frey, I am always a great advocate of the cheeky peasant building a bridge to success." She poured herself another glass. "Tell me, Lord Blackfort, how are you enjoying your new home?"

Belric was not sure wether Lady Tully had meant to insult his family lineage with her remark. In an effort to keep the peace, he chose blissful ignorance.
"Harrenhal has treated us well, m'lady. With a bit of hard work, and time, it will become a lordship worthy of the Riverlands." Belric smiled politely, obviously having learned his lesson about being too honest. "How does Riverrun fare under the King's peace?"

Lord Medgar kept silent as his wife took up the conversation with their guests, smiling to himself, eyes flitting between his lady and the Blackforts.
"I remember when Lord Manfred Lothston said something similar in these very halls, likely in that very seat," he remarked, as the servants brought out steaming bowl of a cheesy beer soup suited for the winter weather; with diced celery, carrot, and onion. "Though you managed to survive Redgrass Field where he did not."
Ser Toren seemed to twitch at mention of the battle, but held his tongue.
"Well, we have food under the king's peace. I cannot fault that," he remarked, blowing on his soup and taking a bite with clear relish, before glancing to Saesha's handmaiden. "I know you. You're Lucamore Roote's bastard."
Tristan Tully smiled across the table at Violet. Lysa Tully yawned.

Belric listened while his lord spoke, waiting to eat until his lord had taken the first bite. He thought of Redgrass, and the thousands of possible outcomes had they lost the day. It was chance that dictated who lived and died on those fields. Perhaps Westeros would have turned out vastly different had Belric not slain Bloodraven, but he tried not to dwell on the unknown.
"I hope Lord Manfred and I continue to differ in such regards." Belric said, enjoying a spoonful of soup.
"All of the Riverlands seems to have been starved by the war. What are you doing to try and rebuild your stores now that we are in the depths of winter?" He ate another bite, pausing for a moment before doing so to thank the gods for his good fortune thus far.

Violet returned Tristan's smile. She was determined to be charming to him. After swallowing a dainty mouthful of soup, she remarked lightly "If all the food is this good, I shall be well content. Would you be good enough to show me the godswood while we are here, Tristan? I have heard it is very beautiful."

Saesha watched as her husband talked to the Tully's happy to observe. Everyone was acting very polite, she looked around the table to see if she could gage any of the Tully's real feelings.
Observation 47
"Ser Toren, will you be joining us Hawking?" She asked with a pleasant smile.

"House Tully has the benefit of good friends," Medgar replied easily. "The Lannisters were willing to provide us a loan at a generous interest rate and though the Reach has a new Lord Paramount, there was no shortage of lords willing to sell excess grain at a discount after the war emptied their coffers. Do not concern yourself with our well being. This is hardly the first winter House Tully has endured."
"Pleasant as that would be, my lady, I...don't get around the godswood as well as I used to," the heir to Riverrun replied, clearly abashed. "They are worth seeing though. I would be happy to have one of the servants show you around."
Saesha watched as her husband talked to the Tully's happy to observe. Everyone was acting very polite, she looked around the table to see if she could gage any of the Tully's real feelings. Observation 47 "Ser Toren, will you be joining us Hawking?" She asked with a pleasant smile.
(+2 Observation)
"I can't rightly be leaving my brother alone," Toren replied curtly, the warning glance from his brother clearly keeping him from adding the phrase 'with you bastards' to the end of that statement. It did not take an astute eye to see that he was straining at his imposed shackles not to paint the hall with Blackfort blood. (If there was a level below Hate, he'd be at it.)
Tristan seemed uncomfortable, though rather due to his company or his maiming or simply the awkwardness of youth, Saesha could not tell. Violet at least appeared to have his attention. ( Indifferent or higher with Violet and Indifferent or lower with the rest.)
Lysa just seemed bored, a young woman who had been kept under siege during her prime years for receiving suitors, a flower kept in the dark too long. (Indifferent)
Lord Medgar was a difficult read. His demeanor was pleasant and he was a gracious host, but Saesha got the sense that it was practiced, perfected over the years of hosting vassals and treating with lords or royals. (No higher than Indifferent)
Alynna was more of an open book than her husband, but far more poised than her brother in law. It was clear that she carried some coldness towards the Blackforts; either due to their low/bastard birth, the fact that they had fought against the Tullys and Freys, or perhaps holding them partially responsible for the maiming of her son. (No higher than Dislike)

"I will be happy to accept a servant's guidance if you think it best, but I would certainly prefer your company, if you chose to give it. A servant is not usually the best kind of companion." She paused to smile gently at him. "We could go slowly, if you like. I'm not in a tearing rush to see the entire godswood within five minutes. Oh, please say you will come with me!" Charm 88 (or Persuasion 80 if it's more suitable)

(Doesn't like you enough for a Charm attempt. Remember that Charm is typically used to raise disposition unless the disposition is already high. Persuasion or Seduction would have been the route here. +1 Persuasion)
"Well I can hardly say no now," he laughed, adopting a small smile that matched his father's. "Very well, as long as you don't mind a slow pace."

Violet's smile widened. "I am most grateful to you," she said. "It's for the guide to set the pace, anyway. How is it that Riverrun has a godswood, though? I thought House Tully favours the Seven?"

"I don't believe I have ever been to a proper keep without a godswood," Tristan remarked, raising a curious eyebrow, the scholarly lad likely wondering how uneducated the Blackforts truly were, but possessing better manner than to remark upon it. "If you mean a weirwood as the heart tree, well, that is hardly out of place either. Casterly Rock and Storm's End both have weirwoods, both favor the Seven. Highgarden's godswood has three."
