"I do not recall either myself nor Lord Blackfire saying we did not partake because we were afraid... but show me a falcon large enough to ride and I will show you wonders with it," Saesha replied with a thin smile though her tone held good humour, thinking what Medgar had said was perhaps one of the most ridiculous and perhaps pointless statements she'd heard in a while, "Birds are as similar to dragons as worms are to snakes.

"Perhaps your brother should have married you to an Arryn then," Medgar remarked, matching her smile. "Beasts are beasts. If you have the innate will to break one, it is my experience that you have the will to break another."
"Perhaps the red tailed hawk, milady," the Master of Hunt offered, motioning to the largest of the birds remaining.

"If you suggest so. You are the expert" she flashed the hunt master a dazzling smile.

"You honor me, milady." The huntsman turned bright red, before offering her a leather glove of her own and the hawk to perch upon it.
"Let us be off then," Tully declared. "Now, falconry is more a game of observation than it is tracking or accuracy, as the bird does those parts for you. When you spot a bit of small game, be it dove rabbit or squirrel, you simply remove your raptor's hood and outstretch your arm towards the game. It should take flight and bring it back to you. Reward it with a treat, take the game, and place the hood back on. That is all there is to it."

"Straight forward enough," responded Belric. He rubbed the side of his falcon with the back of his finger. He had never been particularly fond of birds, but he knew to show the animal respect.
"After you, my lords," he said gesturing to the surrounding wild.

The group spurts their mounts and sets off, the Master of Hunt leading the way, obviously having pre-scouted the lands for areas with abundant game for the day's entertainment. They came upon some light brush, a few trees, verdant enough for game to frequent, but sparse enough that the birds of prey could fly through unobstructed. The group slowed their pace at a hand from the huntsman, the horses adopting a four beat gait. The men became searching out game, eyes peeled, eager to be the first to claim a prize.
(Observation Tests. +2 Observation for Saesha)
Saesha spots a rabbit in the brush, about 50 yards away, which none of the others seemed to notice.

Saesha sees the rabbit and following instruction, removes the birds hood, hoping it was going to home in on the poor, adorable prey.

The hawk followed its instincts, letting out a shriek as it spotted the prey that the rest had yet to see, eyes built for the task at hand. It took flight from her arm, ascended, and dove. The rabbit turned its head at the last moment to see its end, its angel of death, razor sharp talons hoisting it from the ground. The hawk circled twice in the air, acorn bells jangling from its leg in a song of triumph, before returning to its perch on Saesha's arm and depositing the prey in her lap.
"Fine showing, my dear!" Lord Branstone cheered, "I daresay she is a natural."

Belric smiled at his wife with pride. He had not expected to be a good Hawker, but to see Saesha excel so easily was a source of much entertainment for the Lord.

"I suppose we'll see if it's in the blood or if it's just luck soon enough," she said trying to be humble, but truthfully she was glad she'd done well on her first try. She fed the bird s treat and stroked it's head softly before returning the hood.
She glanced st her husband and was felt happy he was happy. Now all they needed was for him to excell st it.

(Belric rolled a 99, but Branstone rolled a 91 and actually has the observation skill. Saesha may "spot" for Belric if she'd like to help her dear husband out in the future.)
Lord Branstone and Belric spotted the next bit of game at the same instance, extending their arms towards a squirrel on a tree branch. The practiced hawker was just a hair quicker though and his northern goshawk scooped the small game up in its talons and returned it to its master, while Belric's returned empty handed. When Medgar had said Benfrey was an avid hawker it had clearly been an understatement, as the man cheered as if he had just won the Iron Throne single handed.

Belric laughed jovially, enjoying the friendly competition. "A true master indeed, Lord Benfrey." He rubbed his falcon as consolation for its efforts.

As she'd managed to astound already, Saesha instead tried to help out her husband, looking out for any more little innocent animals to subtly point out to him.

(+1 Observation to Saesha)
They all search again, riding through the brush, until Saesha catches a bit of white out of the corner of her eye, a dove perched on a nearby branch. She elbows her husband in the ribs and directs his attention to it. That's subtle, right?

Yseult follows along, inwardly pleased at her Ladys success and makes a mental note to compliment her later on it.
