Donal ignored the curses coming from the fallen guard captain, in part because he could think of no witty response to them in the heat of the moment.
Not one to leave a comrade who had defended him from blows while he tried to escape to be stabbed to death by three foes, Donal turned his attention to that fight. Unslinging his shield from his back and drawing his blade he charged into the fray to protect Bandy, swinging ferociously at the nearest guardsman.
"Meet the Stranger, whore fuckers!" he roared, his nerves steeled by his previous feat of heroism.

Seeing some ride their horses away no doubt to raise the hue and cry Alyn wasted no time, using his reddened blade to cut down their former leader and begin divesting him of his plate armor.
His knightly training helped him to work out the various buckles.
As he worked, he donned what he could quickly - all the time looking around and listening for approaching men - and threw what he could not wear without help into the surrounding undergrowth to be retrieved later.

Observation: 20 Alyn cuts the body down, the armored crow-ravaged corpse landing with a deafening clamor. He managed to get the greaves and pauldrons off his former leader, before he looked up and noticed the two mounted guardsmen Donal lost had returned, now between him and his horse. It took them one look at the slain huntsman and the man with a bloodstained knife looting a bandit's corpse to figure out what had transpired. They approached Alyn with leveled spears. "Seven Hells, that's Alyn Redhands!" one of the men declares, already thinking what he was going to buy with the reward for his head. (You rolled an 8 for observation.)

Keeping an eye on the tips of the leveled spears Alyn wordlessly backed away towards the nearby undergrowth by the side of the trail, his arm extended with the blade, ready for any spear lunge. If he could make the undergrowth, then the odds might shift in his favour as their spears wouldn't be as effective in the tangle of branches and undergrowth. He might even be able to lose them.

The guardsmen had no intention of letting him go anywhere, spurring their horses forward and stabbing at him with their spears, apparently feeling they had an advantage against a man on foot with a knife. They were wrong. The first guard's lunge went high, and as he road passed Alyn, the bandit buried his knife into his thigh, severing the femoral artery. The unfortunate guardsman fell to the ground screaming, bleeding out in seconds.
(+1 Small Blades. One guardsman slain.)

Alyn grimaced as his attention turned to the remaining guardsman. He continued to move about to try and improve his position in relation to making the undergrowth, all the while keeping an eye on the guardsman's spear. If the guardsmen attempted to engage him before he reached the undergrowth, Alyn would try and engage at close quarters, inside the arc of the guardsman's spear point.

The guard continues to stab at Alyn from atop his steed, the wanted man nimbly dodging the point, but unable to get within his reach with his knife.
(No result. For clarity, the "close quarters" bonus for small blades is typically only used in tight confines, like a tavern or cave. As in somewhere the reach of a proper weapon would be a liability. It's certainly not able to be claimed fighting a mounted opponent with a spear when you're on foot with a knife. If anything, I should give you a penalty for that.)

(No problems. Wasn't sure how you were applying 'close quarters'. I was more thinking grappling type combat, inside the range of a spear, if it occurred).
Alyn edged further towards the undergrowth by the side of the trail, eyes still fixed on the spear tip and looking for an opportunity to use his blade if an opening arose. If he could make the undergrowth he resolved to try and duck behind a tree or particularly thick vegetation and make him a more difficult target for the guardsman to hit. If he were particularly fortunate, it might even help conceal his exact position. The odds would then shift in his favor.

Bandy could taste the bitter iron on his tounge as the blade sank into him, all sound fading out for a split moment as pain filled the mans mind. He felt cold, the feeling of galloping on the horse strangely numb to him as he felt the blade in his back. Bandy knew he would likely be meeting the stranger, and the judgement of the seven soon, and he knew he had a lot to answer for.
'I'm not intending on going alone...' The man thought in his mind, his axe held in both hands as he completely sacrificed defense for pure offense. He went on the attack, Aiming his axe blow not at the man but the horse he was riding, aiming to decapitate the beast and take any and all blows from such a move.
"I'm Ridin fast to the Strangah's Embrace...And ONE OF YA's COMING WITH ME!!!" He shouted loudly, his mind only focused on bringing down his pursuers, not even caring to steer the bloody horse he was on as he took aim and swung away.

Vex snorted. The bow an arrow would have been for Bandy's horse. "What was all that earlier, anyway? You all having a piss, making the kid bark orders?" she asked. She readjusted the reins and brought the horse to a slightly slower pace once they were in the clear. "Now... tell me about the papers," she said. "You act as if I had some choice in the matter," replied Harlan demonstratively. "The boy wanted to take charge. Let the Stranger decide who's worthy and who's not." He cocked his head curiously when Vex brought up Longinch's documents. "What papers?" he asked, feigning ignorance. Vex let the question hang in the air for a while. "You know what papers," she said, and took the reins in her left hand to slide her right up Harlan's chest, feeling around for them. She of course had no proof Harlan really had them, just a strong hunch. "You were the second one to the room and I know you can read. Don't shit me."

Harlan was surprised by her touch, but he didn’t try and stop her. “Oh, those papers,” he exclaimed somewhat over exaggeratively. He took the invitation of her touch to return the favor, sliding a hand up the insider of her leg. “They were nothing, just old correspondence from the war and pleads from him family for his safe return home.” His wandering fingers found what they was searching for, landing on the warmth between her legs. “Though he did also keep a list of our respective bounties.”

Tool of the trade: castle forged steel longsword +5 to rolls and +5 damage) Just as things look their darkest, Donal rides in like a hero out of song, cursing like a sailor. Unfortunately, the heroic moment is cut short as the guardsman in the rear falls back to face the "hero", his spear lancing out towards Donal's face. Donal moves his head quick, but not quite quick enough, the spear shearing off a chunk from the right side of his face and taking the ear clean off. (Donal takes Medium Wound for -15) Bandy could taste the bitter iron on his tounge as the blade sank into him, all sound fading out for a split moment as pain filled the mans mind. Two handed axe: 70 Strength: 60 Armor: 100 Intimidation: 50 Ser Lionys Footly's plate cuirass - +5 saddle attack damage with two handed axe. In his weakened state, Bandy manages to slash the horse with his axe, though not particularly deep, the horse whinnying in pain but not slowing at the superficial wound. (Guardsman's horse takes a Light Wound and he will suffer -10 on future horsemanship rolls) Both guards begin hacking and stabbing at Bandy from either side with their shortswords, denting his plate cuirass as they rained down blow after blow, a few shearing through his chain to slice the tender flesh beneath. It was more butchery than battle at this point. Yes, Bandy stubbornly remained in the saddle, still clinging to life. (+1 Two Handed Axe. Bandy takes a medium wound for -15, now -75 total.)

As the spear lances out, the steel spear buries itself in the collarbone of his offhand, the tip actually pushing clean through the leather armor flesh and sinew to punch out the other side. It was excruciatingly painful but likely not life-threatening. (You rolled an 18 against the guardsman's 94. Alyn takes a Medium Wound for -20)

Bandy was in little state to say or do much else, he attempted to bring his axe to bear against one of his attackers, his death by 1000 cuts seeming certain but refusing to die still yet.

Alyn cursed under his breath as the guardsman's spear finally found its target. However his sword arm brandishing his blade remained uninjured and he still circled around looking for an advantageous position to launch a counter-attack. When he could, he eyed his surrounds to determine his exact position in relation to his horse and/or any shelter provided by the surrounding trees from the guardsmen on the horse.
Remaining in the open on foot was probably not a good idea.
