Donal ignored the curses coming from the fallen guard captain, in part because he could think of no witty response to them in the heat of the moment. Not one to leave a comrade who had defended him from blows while he tried to escape to be stabbed to death by three foes, Donal turned his attention to that fight. Unslinging his shield from his back and drawing his blade he charged into the fray to protect Bandy, swinging ferociously at the nearest guardsman. "Meet the Stranger, whore fuckers!" he roared, his nerves steeled by his previous feat of heroism. (Intimidation 5, One Handed Swords (+5 Against Leather) 62, Chain, Shield. Tool of the trade: castle forged steel longsword +5 to rolls and +5 damage) Just as things look their darkest, Donal rides in like a hero out of song, cursing like a sailor. Unfortunately, the heroic moment is cut short as the guardsman in the rear falls back to face the "hero", his spear lancing out towards Donal's face. Donal moves his head quick, but not quite quick enough, the spear shearing off a chunk from the right side of his face and taking the ear clean off. (Donal takes Medium Wound for -15) Donal screamed a scream that was part pain part fury, his world narrowing to just him and his adversary as he swung his sword with even greater force at his foe.

The pair of guardsmen continue hacking at Bandy like he's a pinata, though the seasoned bandit refused to die, somehow remaining in the saddle with his axe in hand even as blood streamed down his body to paint his steed red.
(+1 Two Handed Axes. Bandy takes a Medium Wound for -15, now -90.)
Donal maneuvers his horse inside the reach of the guardsman's spear, raining down overhead blows with his sword, one of them sticking in the man's shoulder to elicit a howl of pain.
(Donal deals a Medium Wound to the guard)

Alyn cursed under his breath as the guardsman's spear finally found its target. However his sword arm brandishing his blade remained uninjured and he still circled around looking for an advantageous position to launch a counter-attack. When he could, he eyed his surrounds to determine his exact position in relation to his horse and/or any shelter provided by the surrounding trees from the guardsmen on the horse. Remaining in the open on foot was probably not a good idea. - Small Blades: 72 - Leather armor - Observation: 20 As the guardsman lunges from the saddle again, Alyn manages to fuck the blow, reaching up to drive his knife into his opponent's side, burying it to the hilt. As he pulled it out, he realized he could make a dash for his horse. However, if he fled, he would be doing so empty handed, leaving the plate armor behind. (Alyn deals a heavy wound to the guardsman)

Donal looked over to see Bandy getting hacked to pieces. He was no maester, but he was pretty sure that Bandy was beyond any healing skills he might have even if he did manage to slay all three guardsmen, which he was no longer confident of doing given how the larger Bandy seemed to be faring against them.
Figuring that Bandy was as good as dead at this point, Donal turned his attention to escaping, wheeling his horse away from the guardsman he had just stabbed in the shoulder. He pressed his heels into the new horse's flanks, hoping that this one was faster than the last.
(Horsemanship 42-Attempt to escape while Bandy is getting hacked to death)

(Alyn deals a heavy wound to the guardsman) Alyn eyed his horse which was now within reach, torn between giving up the immensely valuable plate armor and escaping. As far as he could tell, he couldn't see or hear anyone else approaching, but knew that either the other guardsmen would return or perhaps those that had fled earlier would return with more guardsmen. In which case he was in trouble. Yet he was encouraged by the fact that the remaining guardsman was now bleeding heavily from his last strike with his blade. No guts no glory he thought grimly making the decision to try and take out the Lychester guard, but knowing he had to finish this quickly. If he were caught there would be no mercy for him. Alyn redoubled his efforts to get inside the range of the guardsman's spear and stab him again with his blade. As he moved he tried to keep an eye and ear out for any approaches to where they fought. - Small Blades: 72 - Leather armor - Observation: 20

(Horsemanship 42-Attempt to escape while Bandy is getting hacked to death) Donal digs in his heels, his new steed carrying him away from the cacophony of butchery, but perhaps not the guilt of leaving a compatriot to be hacked to death by the law. (+1 Horsemanship. No result in the combat. Donal escapes. You may post at the farm.)

Alyn does not see anyone else approaching at the moment, but the alarmed onlookers who had taken off towards the village, it would not likely be long. (+1 Small Blades. Guardsman is slain.)

Bandy's is finally put out of his misery as one of the guards artlessly hacking him into pieces lands a blow to the side of his already wounded neck, severing the carotid artery. His grip on his axe, slick with his own blood, finally slips and he falls from the saddle, never to rise again.
(Bandy is slain.)

Having already stripped the greaves and pauldrons from Longinch's corpse, Alyn wasted no time in continuing to strip the remaining pieces of armor, loading each onto his horse. Grimacing at times from his wound which was painful but didn't look too serious, he kept an eye out for anyone else approaching.
Once he had finished, he mounted his horse and moved off the trail, inending to make his way across country to where the others at the farm were. He also knew that four other Medway guardsmen had pursued Donal and Bandy and he had no desire to run into them along tne trail.

He passes the now horseless guard captain as he rides off, who looks at him with clear recognition but is in no position to give chase.
(You may also post at the farm. Enjoy your new armor.)

Alyn gave the guard captain a jaunty wave as he rode past at speed. "Tell your master of the work of Alyn Redhands." indicating the three dead men left behind in the clearing.

Harlan was surprised by her touch, but he didn’t try and stop her. “Oh, those papers,” he exclaimed somewhat over exaggeratively. He took the invitation of her touch to return the favor, sliding a hand up the insider of her leg. “They were nothing, just old correspondence from the war and pleads from him family for his safe return home.” His wandering fingers found what they was searching for, landing on the warmth between her legs. “Though he did also keep a list of our respective bounties.” Vex naturally slapped her hand on his the moment it began roaming up her thigh, stopping the motion and shoving away his hand. "I'm going to make you a very generous offer," she said, drawing the knife from her hip and bringing it around to Harlan's crotch, applying what was likely very unpleasant pressure to his manhood. "You take out the papers and read me everything in there, you don't have to sit down for a piss the rest of your life."

Harlan swallowed the terror in his throat, “Our mates are back there, probably getting themselves strung up by the necks, and you want me to read you Longinch’s family correspondence? You seem to have a very odd obsession with the written word for somebody who never even bothered to learn to read.”

"Would you like me to turn around and drop you off back there?" she asked. "Read what you took," she said, adding some pressure to the blade for extra incentive.

“Very well,” he replied, his voice strained in a higher pitch. Harlan pulled out the first of the letters, and began. “'My Dearest Lucas, I feel I must write you again although there is not much news to tell you. I wonder how you are getting on. I shall be so relieved to get a letter from you. I can't help feeling a bit anxious with the passing of time spent away from you. I know how you must have felt when you did not get my letters for so long. Of course I know you will write as soon as you can, but the time seems so dull and weary without any news of you, if only this war was over and we were together again. It will be one day I suppose.”
When Harlan finished, he put the letter down. “Must you hear more?”
