"Thank you, Ser Garlan-uh-Harlan," Alice said, gladly taking his arm to be escorted from the room. Harlan, a model of chivalry, took her straight to her chambers and left a glass of water on her nightstand.

Tallahar looked at Edmure like the man had suddenly grown wings and flown away, "You do speak of the same brother I ask you, Edmure. We both have spent far too much of our lives following his lead. I do not believe Belric Blackfort is going to down quietly to any woman." Edmure laughed at Tallahar's incredulity. "Not just any woman. She is the sister of the King, his wife and no doubt will be the mother of his heir one day."

Dany smiled at Edmure's news. "A castellan with the biggest castle in the land. Your brother must have a lot of faith in you. I confess, it is very easy to envy that trust if not the position itself." Edmure smiled back. "Perhaps. Still I don't believe I've given my brother any reason to doubt my loyalty to him or competence to do the job." His smile widened. "After all, who can you trust if not your own family?"

(Personal disposition dropped by 1. Dany was forced onto the streets by her mother's family and mostly ignored by House Targaryen.) "...I wouldn't know." She maintained her smile but it was not so friendly when directed at Edmure. It remained strong for Tallahar though, as she turned to face him. "And what position shall you assume, Ser Tallahar? Captain of the Guards?"

"Perhaps but I do not have a way with words and men. I had wish to be named Master of Horse. I usually spend all my time in stables around the horses anyway. I found them so much easier then people." Tallahar smiled almost shyly, "Now I seem to be rambling."

Edmure could not quite work out why but the smile of Daenarys Stone towards him seemed to become colder. His own smile faded slightly and then he shrugged. If he had said something that had offended her, then it was unintentional.
He looked to the drunk Myrcella. "She is ready for her bedchamber. Does she have a father, brother or husband here?"

"That sounds fine to me," Ser Whalen replied, not caring in the slightest at this point how many times he had to flip the blasted coin. It was not as if he was doing this for science. "How about if I get heads more than five times you can name any reasonable boon you desire?" "Agreed. And now the kiss." To tease him, she leaned in and kissed him on the cheek, one feather-light kiss he could barely feel. It was, after all, a kiss of sorts. (Violet loses 1 personal disposition level for being an unrepentant tease) The Bracken heir did not look amused in the slightest. More shocked and annoyed that all that bartering and discussions of statistical experiments had gotten him a peck on the cheek, and barely one at that. "Did you kiss me or is there simply a draft in here?" he inquired.

"Did you kiss me or is there simply a draft in here?" he inquired. She fought back her disappointment than the ploy hadn't work. "Oh, I was only playing," she replied. "I thought it might heighten the anticipation." But there was no sense continuing to tease him, so she put her hands on his shoulders, leaned in and kissed him on the lips. She had kissed before, though, and now she put her experience into good practice. Seduction 51

(Failed. Disposition remains the same.)
Bracken was clearly too deep in his cups to appreciate the merits of subtle flirting, especially when he had likely spent the last five years surrounded by camp followers who did not beat around the bush. He returned her kiss with gusto, lips hungry and eager, but did not seem particularly impressed by her experience put to practice. This was, once again, likely due to the fact he had spent the last five years with women that put her experience to shame.
"That was pleasant," he still said, not entirely a boor. "Shall we see how lucky I am now?"

"Yes, that's the point, after all." She waited eagerly for him to begin the tosses. "Good luck, ser."

He flipped the coin 10 times. It came up heads exactly 5 times.
"Well, at least it does not appear a maiden's kiss is bad luck," he remarked, returning the gold dragon to his pocket. "Hopefully you can break even at Harrenhal as well, my lady. That would be a true feat."

"Break even? That doesn't seem quite good enough. Perhaps you would have had more luck if we had tried this earlier in the evening," she suggested. "I'm pleased I didn't bring you bad luck, though. It's a start. Perhaps we may take it as a good omen for the days ahead."

"Why? Does your luck diminish as the night wears on?" he teased, as if luck were a measured quantity rather than superstition. "That does not bode well for your future husband."

She rolled her eyes. "How could I know that when I have never experimented like this before? It has been an eventful evening, though, and you have been playing games of chance for some time. It would have been interesting if we had tested your luck much earlier, wouldn't it?"

"The night is still young," he winked, even as his wandering eyes glanced around for passing serving maids he may have a better chance of banging the headboards with this evening. "Plenty of time left to experiment."
